Your video was very helpful. I have the same camera but most of my cameras are super 8 cameras, so I use my quarz ds 8 very seldom and I always forget the proper way to load the ds 8 film to my camera. This video helps me a lot, thanks!
No, you just have to be in shade. You will lose a few feet from the beginning and end of the film. If you want to make sure those are not lost you have to load the camera in a changing bag or total darkness. Red light won't do.
this particular camera has an on/off switch(ein/aus) in the german version. if switch is set to off/aus and the lens cap is on it should only release the spring. i never tried it myself.
Hi, I was wondering why was the ein/aus button at the beginning and then you turned it on ein? Can't i leave it on ein? And you can load the film in the light, right? (Sorry i'm new to 8mm, trying not to f*ck up films as much as I did when i started shooting photos on film ahah) Thank you and great tutorial!
Yes, it is caled a "dalight reel" (denní cívky in czech) and can be changed in the daylight (but shadow is greatly recomended). First few turns of the film material work as light protector for the rest of the film on reel (this film material, while unprocessed, contain a layer of the dark silver, so is perfectly opaque and does not pass the light ) . ein/aus switch retract claw from the way of the film and it is easily to load . And do not forget, that DS-8 is dople side, so after use of new film reel, You must turn it and use again, to have both half of the film exposed.. So one 10m Ds-8 reel contain as much as 20m of super8 footage. It is processed like 16mm film, and there is a split device (usually a black round device with slot aside as a camera addon) that can split 16mm film to 2 8mm.

Hello, do you need to put film in camera when you are under red light? Like in zenit cameras

Brilliant video, but how do you flip it over to get the remaining 10 metres?
You must just replace reels: empty and full.
Does this camera record 8mm or super 8mm(DS8)films?
This is Double Super8 which ends as a Super8 after processing..
i got a quarz 5, which film do I use, 8mm or double super 8mm and where can I get it
Can you use different lens on this camera?
Very good!
I want to film with this camera on a 100 SA film, i.e. 21DIN, 18 / s, how to set the sensitivity knob? 21 DIN versus 18 / s?
Can I release the spring tension for storing the camera with film in it?

Добрый день! Подскажите, пожалуйста, как открывать на этой камере экспонометр?
I have a quartz 5, it's like this expect the buttons are not as well labeled and with a nicer crank handle
I just got the Quarz 5. I was wondering if you have the instruction manual in PDF or other digital format?
please can you let me know where I can find the tape for this camera?
lol... TAPE... XD
I have the One without zoom. No infos about It 😟😟😟
I'm so confused. Can i use this in my Quarz 5 cam? (It's for regular 8mm film)
Double Super 8
Very interesting! Thank you to share
Great Video!

Этот режим „ein“ для съёмки . А режим «aus” это режим спуска пружины без промотки пленки . Он предотвращает промотку пленки при случайном нажатии !
I am glad I could help!
Hallo, das ist kein Super 8 Film oder?
Es ist Doppelsuperacht (DS8)
Das kommt vielleicht demnächst...
sehr geil!!!
Just like you said: flip the spool over and put it on the other pin.
LeinwandHeld1 so does it change direction for the rest 10 mt?
