Yes!!! You DEF want to do all the side quests in this game! The character development and interactions in this game is one of the BEST i’ve ever experienced. This game is remarkable! So excited for you to finally get to it!

Awesome ive been watching from the beginning and some crisis core +remake only recently became a member !
I encourage you to play at your leisure however ! Id say all the chadley stuff can be a bit overwhelming at first. Simply doing his (starter) combat missions can give you a healthy amount of starter materias .(doing those would be a great starting point for next time) Also equipping materias even in characters you arent actively using will level them up slowly (sorry this is 2 much but your unactive party can also heal you so get healing materia on other chars so you dont have 2 use your own parties MP to heal everytime) so always run at capacity .. another couple tips when using cloud punisher mode(tapping triangle) right before taking damage can be used as a counter attack which causes much stagger ! Also remember 2 learn abilities from weapons to further your arsenal b4 swapping to what may seem better at the time!
This game is sort of a victim of its own success in its sidequests and extra stuff because almost all of it will enrich your expirience .. for example in kalm before you left all the chars were split up and in talking to each 1 you have a chance to deepen relationships and party levels a bit b4 the watchtower scene! Even tho they are simple encounters some of them may come back later and make you smile depending on what you chose! I was not expecting a choice i made in Remake to have any significance in this game! Made me laugh so hard so theres very much charm and lorebuilding in doing just about everything cause they made it not only rewarding lore wise but also materia and relationships! So it may take a little bit for the story to really pick up doing all of it but its totally worth it! Plus i mean its a great game so you may as well just take it all in and not rush the story imo anyways ! Also Youve not scratched the surface with Queensblood ! Which is so much fun once you get the hang of it you may even crave it! Its a fan fave 💓 cant wait for next video even if your just gathering world intel i personally didnt leave the area until around level 23 or 26 something like that this is good training for the future its a little more fast paced than remake combat wise they did an awesome job! Oh yeah im sure people have answered this but synergy abilities require both characters to have used a certain amount of abilities (not spells) and require more if you want to use more than 1 synergy ability in a fight ! Much love cant wait for next 1 .. lol im ranting but i believe party switches are done in a different menu other than party its kinda weird but try a couple options youll find it ! This blew my mind but when swapping character materias press the big middle button on ps5 controller and you got a very easy to use materia screen okay seriously good night everyone

19:00 When you see your comrades strolling around with those "Smiley Faces" above them, you should seek out all of them and talk to them. These moments are your opportunity to deepen your relationship with them and without spoiling too much, there are scenes later in the game that depend on who you have the deepest connection with. If you want those future scenes to happen with a specific character, you should keep a close eye on those smiley faces. Other means of deepening your relationship are those Synergy Abilities for example.
46:00 As far as I know you can not miss any Sidequests or content. You could play all the way to the end of the game and only then start doing Sidequests and it would be fine.
48:00 You should definitely pick up everything that's on the ground! You'll need tons of material for the transmuter.
1:00:00 and 1:15:00 To use Synergy Abilities you first have to use normal Abilities with both characters. Some Synergy Abilities need more "preparation" beforehand. You can see how many other skills you have to use first on the left side. The little dark boxes turn blue when you use regular skills. If all dark boxes are blue, you can perform the Synergy Ability.
1:07:00 Here Red mastered his weapon ability. If I remember correctly from your FF7 Remake Let's Play, you might've missed to learn some Abilities there. So I'd like to remind you that every weapon in this game has an ability but the characters can only use those abilities if they have that weapon equipped. To learn those abilities permanently you have to fulfill conditions (like using the ability X times in battle). You should inspect every weapon in the menu and check how to master it's ability so you don't lose access to it once you find a better weapon.
1:48:00 You can change your Party setup in "Combat Setting" in the Menu. Press square and you can change the members. You can also setup 3 different parties and quick switch between them in the overworld when not in combat.

Just a few details I found on your playthrough:
Whenever you enter a cache location, the total amount of treasure is displayed in the top left corner.
It's also a good idea to brush up on your synergy skills. The way they activate is 100% controllable.

@@cakerinsso this may blow your mind im sure your overloaded with info but there are 2 types of synergy skills the 1s you activate after you use multiple abilities on each character you wish to use a synergy ...when you hover over the synergy or attack button there's little blue dots or lines that show how many each character has I think .. there's also synergy abilities much like yuffie dlc that you unlock and have no requirements so yeah do with that info what you will! Lol

To add to another comment regarding the faces, that relationship aspect is also altered by sidequests. The character who gains is based on who is involved, and you can check later if you haven't finished by looking at the quests to see which character is shown with it. Speaking with members (I believe the option picked slightly influences how much is gained in those little cutscenes), using each synergy skill for the first time, and doing sidequests are how to alter the relationship status, which directly influences a section of the game. One of my favorite things about the game are how they flesh out each character, although doing all the sidequests can take a LARGE amount of time. I don't think you can really miss any sidequest, though, as you can go back and grab them. You could skip/only do certain ones if you want specific members to have specific relationship and then do at the end for the lore and cutscenes, I believe, but don't quote me.
On Queen's Blood, if you tie a lane, nobody gets points, and whoever gets the most points in a row is the only person to get points in it. The cards with red squares on them are the ones that can amp or debuff cards, which you can read by highlighting them. It is sometimes worth losing a row to get more points in another.
I'll have you know, dodging 100 lightning bolts for Lulu's ultimate weapon, Onion Knight, was the most "fun" thing I've ever done, and by "fun" I mean painful.
Weapon upgrades are a bit different in this game. Leveling them up increases the pool and innate abilities, and you can select from the pool at any time up to the number of slots on the weapon (as you level you unlock more). You can change which you have on a weapon at any time.
36:00 - petition to add those poles to any tall building for quick escape in real life.
On transmutation - as you transmute, you'll notice things you haven't already created have a blue number to the right. That is the exp they give toward your transmuter. Leveling it up by crafting new items unlocks new items to transmute.
On synergy - to use them, you need to actively use commands with characters. Switch to a character to build ATB, use on commands, switch to another, etc., to get enough to activate synergy skills. Not all abilities give synergy points, but you can tell which do by looking at the ability description when you are in the menu in battle. If it has a little rectangle beside it, it gives 1 synergy point (1:15:50 - Soul drain gives 1, but, while most abilities give synergy, there are a few that don't). Each synergy attack requires a specific number, which changes depending on how many times you've used it during the fight, but that cost resets on every fight. For instance, when you look at the synergy skill for Aerith and Cloud, it has 3 bars for each character (red because you didn't have). That means each character has to use 3 abilities that count. You can keep track of how many bars you have under the character names on the right menu in battle, up to 5. That is what the 5 rectangles are under their names. Using a synergy that requires 3 from each will take 3 from each character, so if you have 4 on each, they'll drop to 1 left in their pool that you can then refill.
Don't feel bad about the Titan fight. The summons are meant to be difficult, essentially impossible depending on where you are at, to begin with, but you can weaken them by doing certain things via exploring the overworld. This also strengthens them when you use them. There is no difference in reward between fighting at full power or weakened other than the challenge. You get the summon for winning no matter what difficulty.
You can change your party, but it is a bit confusing. I'd have to load it up, but can't at the moment. You bring up the combat settings menu I think(?) and can switch from there. I think the Square button is involved? Again, I'd have to check when I get the time.
    Glad you are enjoying!

Throughout the story you will hit points such as
Rest period: these moments are when you can initiate conversations with party members to improve your relationship, your relationship improves more depending on your responses but it will never decrease so don't worry too much about making perfect decisions.
Party lock: you are assigned a set party and can't change it until further notice
Fast travel lock: you can not fast travel until further notice.
These prompts are the best way to judge when you want to sidequests which can't be missed except for going beyond the arbitrary “point of no return typical of most open world games.
The game is designed to played at whatever pace you want. If you want to do everything in a given area before proceeding with the main story you can, if you want to ignore side content and just do main story you can do that too.
The design of this game is basically the exact opposite of remake and you can set whatever pace you are comfortable with 😊

Synergy Abilities requires you to use a certain number of character abilities. So for example, you want to use a Synergy Ability between Aerith and Cloud. That means you need to use both characters basic attacks such as Clouds Focus Thrust ability and Aerith’s Arcade Ward Ability. That would count as 1 ability used for each character. Synergy abilities require a certain number of abilities performed before they become usable (usually 3 or 4) - you’ll see little notches next to each synergy ability that shows you how many abilities you need to use for each character. So that means the battle has to go long enough so that you can use both Cloud and Aerith’s abilities 3 or 4 times each. Once you do, THEN you can use a Synergy ability! I know that may be hard to read through, but you’ll get it!

hold X in the overworld to bring up the menu like you're going to use an item and press L1 or R1 to swap between the three party configurations you have. Go into battle settings in pause menu to change the combinations of characters. Also don't forget to look at the inherent new abilities that come with weapons, like on Aerith's rod you got. There's a lot of new abilities that are all worth using once you get used to them, and you also want to use them 10 times so your character learns them permanently. Glad you're having fun so far!

Synergy Ability Use: As you use Atb with characters in your party you will build their synergy with each ability use. @@cakerins Just finished watching - to change your party, you do that under "Combat Settings", not the Party option. Not very intuitive imo, and those two screens could probably have been combined, so the confusion is understandable. Completing the summon crystal side quests (in each region) will allow you to fight a less powerful version of the summon, but will grant you the highest level of that particular summon (meaning that the fight will be easier and the summon stronger when you use it).
