Why is there no info or footage anywhere of tambourine shells or zils being made? This is the most in depth video I can find, and both of those are purchased premade. I'm wanting to learn more about the process of created zils as well as wooden tambourine shells and can't find many resources at all.
Thanks for watching, and sorry we aren't able to show manufacturing specifics for the raw shell and pre-hammered jingles. Both our design, but provided by an outside supplier. Regarding the shell, try researching steam-bending wood.
Hi Paul - thanks for watching. The handle cut out is on all our 10" double row tambourines (excluding Leggiero models). The cut out reduces the depth of the shell for more comfortable handling. Sorry if this process wasn't outlined in the production video.
We have a variety of different tambourine models. Check out our website and click "buy now" to view pricing at your preferred retailer. www.blackswamp.com/tambourines
I now can see why these tambourines are priced at the price they're offered at! What a tedious & pains-taking process to manufacture those very fine musical instruments!
Hi Lizbeth...thanks for watching! We sell through instrument retailers. You can find the retailer nearest you for pricing and availability here: www.blackswamp.com/where-to-buy
Cool job. Cheers!

So not only are the tambourines handmade, but the guy who makes them is adorable!

I want purchase a good quality sound 10 inches length tamburine for outdoor party sound
I would recommend a TD1S tambourine. The synthetic head will keep tension in all temperature/humidity settings!

What I've been noticing about the jingles on the tambourines, it looks like china cymbals but smaller.
Hello - yes!...jingles are basically tiny cymbals. The more they are played, the more they "break in" and improve in sound quality.
are the wood shells of your tambourines are fabricated by the company?
We don't manufacture the bent shell, but do all the machining, finish work and assembly.
Can you make me one
