For those who will be keeping the vehicle outside 24/7 and not be washing the vehicle for at least 12 times a year and plan to keep the vehicle for 10 plus years, then glacier white is the best colour to get, for long term durability. Simply because it’s the only colour that doesn’t have a clear coat. Glacier white (a solid colour due to not having metallic flakes) might not look as premium as frosted white when new, but clear coat colours which all colour choices for Prado are except glacier white, when left outside 24/7, having less than 12 washes a year after about 10 plus years, will show signs that their clear coats are starting to deteriorate. When metallic paints start deteriorating, the clear coat will start pealing and look very second hand and not so premium looking, far from it. It's curiously interesting that you guys, Lil and Jake, and Ronny Dahl all got new Prados straight off the floor on Day 1, all white but three different models. Coincidence? About the third row - the vehicle needs to be re-engineered for lack of seats, not lack or otherwise of seatbelts. Mac & TJ have pointed this out previously and Mac got pinged for deleting seats without re-engineering. The Compliance Plate specifies how many seats with seatbelts, not the number of seatbelts without seats. That said, if you add seats they must come with seatbelts for re-engineering.

Being able to use low range without center diff lock is useful for towing.
Great update. Thanks for sharing.
what abouts bugs on a front window as it is nearly vertical in 250
Hi good to see a review on the GX Prado that i would want. Does the GX have carpet or vinyl on the cabin floors ?
Can’t wait for the 1600 km review
@@thepontiff6031 it’s obviously a first impression champ
Seems to be quite a few comprises for a $100k car.
The AdBlue has put me off, but I understand the vehicle can be remapped to ignore the AdBlue sensors. This will prevent it going into limp mode when the AdBlue runs out.
Playing with anything to do with AdBlu is a hefty fine ….. if caught.
The back seats don't slide in the 150 GX model either, they tumble like the 250s. All the other models (GXL and up) in the 150 do slide so yeah for those models that is a change. Good review, thanks.
The Prado 120 I owned had tumble middle seats, non sliding. Third row had the sideway flip seats. The 250 has mixed both the flip forward and underfloor third row seat. Very poor solution. My present 150 seat solution is far better. Less intrusion ,sliding middle seat. Batteries and thicker chassis have reduced interior space. 150 prado a better car.
Good video and update.
Still pretty much as I thought
I test drove one and they are awesome but man that electronic lift boot is a pain in the behind. Wish the manual one with the gas struts you have in that car was the default.
Any advantage over V6 Everest ?
No
Australia gets a diesel hybrid? We get the turbo diesel Advance and Advance Pro. At 1500km I have no complaints love it.
Semi-mild hybrid.
@@stuartkcalvin yes I see you have watched off tracks video. What does the color of the car have to do with it? And also being different models? But yes mate we ordered ours the day we could, and also rang around to multiple dealers so we could get it as soon as we could. We paid full RRP for the car.
No GVM upgrade, but doing suspension, bull bar, lights, winch and drawers. What payload will you have left?
@@BrianRaynor honestly barely anything.
Yep, still a fancy (expensive) shopping trolley with crap payload. The tourers and towers will looove it?
Not sure why toyrota upgraded it to a 3500kg capacity??
great video guys!
It would be interesting to see all the seats down with the delete. is it still flat or introduce a step.
The only warranty that matters are from Toyota, did you ask Toyota about taking the 3rd row seat regarding warranties?
is there problems in the 8 speed transmission on how it is slow and not very responsive?
I hope to see an offroad review in a few months :)
Still trying to figure out how you did 1,500kms in 2 days, shot a wedding, did a powerline/bush run, and shot 2 reviews.
I would love to drive one even if it's only for a month but unfortunately in my country the starting price is the equivalent of $110 000
What model Subaru outback did you upgrade from and how does this compare? We have a 16 3.6r premium and considering this as a new vehicle.
@@WaunMiguelSanchez we had the 2015 premium diesel. Great little car but this new one is a big step up. The 3.6 r are nice though!
Nice re-review. Can anyone other than Toyota service the car? Or does the 48V set-up and new electronic diagnosis lock you in to Toyota for life?
I love the Prado, had one for a long time, did some great trips in it. Now I would love the new one as well, but way out of my budget. I did think that rear setup was crap and I thought, why couldn't Toyota design it a little better. But look at some of their cars and the 70 series especially the 79 Series comes to mined. I know people love these things, but look at how many design faults these cars have, and Toyota don't give a rats, because people keep buying them.
How is a rear seat delete an option for a 90K + car? i want the 7 seats, but with this 7 seat design the car is almost unlivable as a daily, the gaps between the seats and rear storage box are cavernous. my current VX 150 has a mat, which i am sure you can put over.... but it is all just too damn high. talk about an own goal Toyota. i went and looked at a vehicle this week and walked away after opening up the tail gate..... look for yourself. yes, it really is that bad as a 7 seater.
So if you actually need 7 seats and want storage then you need to get a 300 series ??
2003 120 Prado GXL has all auto windows, and they are still faster than voice command..
How do you find the urethane steering wheel in the GX?
150 Prado long term fuel consumption 7.6 Kml easy long trip 100kh or less 7.1 kml. good drivers only not lead foots..
Great review. How effective are the headlights when driving at night?
Probably crap
Does it have a DPF as well as the Ad Blue?
yep
Classic Toyota. You have to pay a fortune to fix their shocking engineering from factory (similar to 70 Series track width).
Can Toyota do a legal lift before you buy it. I’m worried about that tyre underneath.
Can’t get over the fact that Toyota used the same 2.8 engine found in the Fortuner, for a heavier and much more expensive car….sounds wrong.
Great vid great to hear good feed back but how much was it$?
Just under 80k after on roads, tinting and a tow bar
how many km's now ?
only a few hundred more
I would be more worried about the fact that Toyota havent released the GCM yet. I'll laugh if it's only 6000kg.
That's all it should be
@jarrod1687 I agree, soccer mums car.
It’s 6600 kg
@johannesschaller5510 where did you get that information from?
Adblue range is odd, competition cars with this system last 3-4 times longer.
Boy oh boy, chuncky price for an entry level. Really feel Toyota could have done a lot better with engine selections for Australia, not a lot of push for a heavy car before you start adding bull-bar and a 2tn caravan
Looks nice. All it needs is air bags and it might be as good as my 2014 discovery 4 that also has a rear ediff as well as the center ediff!
My thoughts exactly. Our 2014 SC Disco craps on the new Prado. We would be taking a massive step backwards buying any new Toyota 4wd. Sad that people think that Toyota is an innovator or value for money.
They still come in a base white and not a pearl white like yours
You’re correct there is a normal white. Ours in the frosted white
where is the rear locker? the old 150 series GXL had it
FORD, that about sums it up.
Imagine buying a car at this price tag.. that still retains a Hilux motor.. Toyota fleecing people once again
All cars are going up
Have a listen to the diesel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Definitely looks better than the 300 series and all that for less money with a proven 2.8 engine. Great video
Proven 2.8 there’s a Prado 2.8 30k on the clock on you tube that shat itself new motor took 4 months
@@stevegordon-hall27321 engine in the million produce woooooow get over it the 1 gd has been around a long time
Theyre fine
@@jacobclarke5789 Toyota fan boys rave on about there reliability but when they breakdown they go into hiding making excuses
@@stevegordon-hall2732not sure about other peoples experiences but my parents have a 2017 2.8 Hilux with over 300 thousand as a work/farm ute and not a single thing has ever gone wrong with the engine or anything else for that matter just basic servicing.
So same boring (Fanboy note - reliable) engine hauling around an extra 200kg before you put anything in it and then tow something, good luck!
I am not happy with AD BLUE with disel car.
You will be fine but I am telling you it will make you annoyed someday.
And it cost lots of money to fix ad blue system. It is all connected system so something goes wrong you gotta fix all system and that is expensive.
Time will tell
It’s a brand new vehicle you shouldn’t have to compromise like this by having to buy an aftermarket to fix a design issue with Toyota.
Toyota Australia will NOT warrant this no matter if sold by the dealer.
Get a higher spec door trim or get a custom made
@@garybarker4079 yes I was thinking that
Well, I apologise, well done.
I love your channel, particularly your videography and travel content.
Why you guys are such rusted on fanboys of Toyota is beyond me.
10-15 years ago + Toyota was THE 4x4 to have.
Now they are the same, if less, quality as others in the market place.
From DPFs to vulnerable ABS sensors, to air filters that dust engines.
Factory design and quality has suffered.
The gripes re third row seats is just another poor design factor.
Keep up you good work with the travel and video. I don’t give a rats arse about Toyota.
No disrespect to you but do like it so much because it’s the first new “comfortable luxury” vehicle you’ve had ? 😀
@@merv190 that definitely has some truth to it 😂
Mmmmm! A 2.8l with a 48 volt electric boost to drive the engine with a fan belt ?
There are motorbikes that are belt driven
@OverlandTravellers Yes true but that is the power train driving the rear wheel , in Toyota's case it's a combo starter/ generator/ boost motor driving the engine ??
No it’s not silly… I want a 7 seater but I also want the space..
Doesn't matter what Toyota does, people will still buy them, and defend them to the hilt.
It’s honestly like these legacy car companies are completely oblivious to what the Chinese brands are doing
