Want to die listening to this song. What a song!!! What melody and bhavam. My obeisance to the great saint Tyagaraja, to Dr.Ramanathan and to the person who has made this possible to enjoy anytime. Thank you Sir!!!
Dr. Ramanathan was a musician, musicologist, teacher and human being extraordinare. He was my mother's vocal teacher and I had the privilege of learning some veena from him. He was a regular visitor at our house. It is delightful to hear this piece that used to ring in my ears during the music lessons. Such a beautiful progression of Sangathis and raga bhava in the composition. Ahiri at its best! Many thanks and please post more of this great musician.
They say you won't get food for the day if you sing Ahiri. People will forget their hunger if you sing like this. Who needs food when you can hear this kind of Aahri?
I am very fortunate... I had an occasion to listen to his golden- voiced rendition some 35-40 years ago when Dr.Ramanathan performed a Kacheri in Thrissur
True, panchama pann (raaga) was by used by both Sambanthar and Sundarar. Reference is also available in Sangeetha Ratnakaaram which was written at a later period.
Respected sir Namaskar! Very fortunate to listen today! Many times! Every time something new noticed! Sivaya Guravey Namaha 🙏🙏🙏 what an extraordinary amazing voice really 🙏
A true traditionalist and a Nadopasana - producing a music that moves my heart... which is making it happen - the raga, song, language or the singer... all have merged into one divine experience
