Guys, where did you come across this video? Something happened on October 17 and number of views started to grow dramatically since that moment. Was it UA-cam itself with its recommendations or some popular person left a link to it? Anyway, welcome to my channel! It's my first movable mask, but not the last.

Inwoukd recommend you not sleep on the opportunity and put out a few quick (yet obviously entertaining of course) videos in order to take advantage of the algorithm recommending your videos. This Is by far the best executed and documented 3D printed project i've ever seen. Congratulations for achieving such a complex yet effective design, and in making It so Easy to realize by anyone with a printer. Also loved the custom supports. This Is the future of manufacturing.
Thank you! I tried to make it as simple as possible. Initially it was conceived as fully printable mask, but magnet system turns out more reliable solution. Cords are also worked better than printed detalis. A bunch of interesting solutions were discarded in this certain project but they can fit to other ones!
The very best project would be that one guy that managed to recreate several functioning guns, he even shot them and none had malfunctions.

Woah, crazy awesome predator mouth mask! A bit low rez, but amazing mechanics at work with the the little mouth flappers.
Not only was the step by step guide incredibly detailed but the mask itself is a wonderful work of engineering art! Absolutely can't wait to print and assemble one for myself!

That is one cool mask and you can see how much work you put into it with the design assembly.
Yeah, a lot of time was spent on that, but I think it was worth it. Engineering solutions that didn't work in this project can be successfully used in the next ones.

Having now printed and assembled (and worn!) the mask, this was a huge undertaking! The video moves very quickly, it took me probably two or more hours to complete.
Some things that would help: showing which parts will be used for a step before starting the step (the teeth and springs look very similar), moving just a little slower (I turned the playback speed down, but still had to repeat sections several times), and showing assembly for all four mandibles (trying to mirror instructions was very difficult for me).

I'm glad you like my work! I wasn't sure about the price, because I didn't find similar models on CGTrader. I've already dropped it because some guys said it's too high. You also can offer your price on this website, it's okay.
And yeah, I'll try to make my further masks easier to assemble.
@@sonndersmith In my opinion price should be around 3$ to 4$ Think it like that if more people download this design like the above goy want to download it. if you get around 500 Downloads on this model you will earn around 1250$ the more the downloads more the profit. This is a suggestion only. Since this is your design and hard work you can better judge the price accordingly.
@@sharrysingh1957 I have been selling masks models for cosplay for over 5 years, but on 2 other websites (CGTrader and Etsy), and the average price was always about $15. This price was also typycal for similar models of other makers. I tried sometimes to reduce the price but it didn't affect the number of sales (and other makers hate such "dumping"). But as I can see Cults3D is really different. It's okay there to have little price even for complex models and number of views and downloads can be huge there, in comparison with those two services. So I think you're right. I've already reduced the price to $4.5.

It looks like a combination of the predators mask from the movie and it’s jaw it looks awesome it looks almost like one of those are old samurai masks that they used to wear to protect the neck

It’s called a ‘menpo’, and it was usually constructed with wood. They were mostly an intimidation tactic, as seeing several hundred or even a thousand samurai with snarling demon faces is devastating in psychological warfare.

I feel a few minor improvements could be made at the gluing stage.
You could put holes in the faces you glue together that you could put dowels/rods in for alignment, stability, and ease of assembly.
Yes, you're right, this Idea crossed my mind, but it was too late. I'm going to use this method in my next projects.

To be honest, the closed version reminds me of some of the characters in the Bionicle movies, especially Toa Lhikan and Toa Vakama.

2:53 if they don't already upper and lower pieces should have divots to temporarily put magnets into to aid alignment of the pieces; or registration holes of a common width like a toothpick.
