That axle is an Eaton H72. It's the predecessor of the Gm corporate 14 bolt full float axle from 1 ton - 1.5ton Chevy truck. It was a 60s or older gm truck.
I think your on the right track ,but those Thiccc doors make me think Ice cream truck. The roof rack also could have been where they had the refrigeration but it would have been big and heavy so I could be totally wrong on that. International, MAC, White Motor company all sold turn key rigs, but it could have been an add on box from Swab Wagon Company. I think if you put a tape measure to it Mr. Mercer might fit right up.
I just Finnish watching, and the whole time, I kept picturing that new box being towed behind the sausage wagon. Keep doing what you're doing, Puddin. You inspire me to stay busy. I am a member of the recovery community, and I share your channel with others to help inspire them to roll with the punches and keep it moving. Thanks for all you do.
I don't care what you get done at your old house, I want to see you living and working at your new house and garage. Can't wait to see things easier and faster I your new shop.
Watched a recent episode on David Newberns channel that shows 1,000s of sweet vintage cars & trucks that are soon to be crushed if they cant be saved. I have zero doubt you could find the correct counterpart for that trailer/boxtruck conversion in a days drive ~ it would make for some severely great content for your channels! Thank you so very kindly Puddin!
In Willie Nelson's book "Willie Nelson an Epic Life" He mentions the Kai Kai coffee shop in Hillsboro Texas. Willie probably has seen your trailer around his childhood town.
My dad said he thinks they stopped using that type of shock in the early 40s. Check the bolt pattern and if it doesn't match with anything It's most likely Studebaker.
I found an ad for the Kai-Kai Cafe in the back of the 1960 Hillsboro High School Yearbook. I'm guessing the trailer is 50's. There were many custom body companies back then.
Be forewarned, that means watch out now! If they sheetrock your house toooooo early you may get more cracks and nail pops from the wood drying. You should have a year warranty if your contractor is any good, but what I’d do is go ahead whit it, just have a conversation now that any pops and cracks at the one year mark they will come back to repair and paint.
Man o man, here we go again….. taught my five year old to say this with me all the time when we start our adventures together for the day. Thanka puddin!!! Yeeeaappp
I would keep that trailer... a trailer. Increase the tongue height to match the travelall. Put a proper trailer axle in it.... Match set....super cool !
That box looks like it's from an old milk truck from the 40's early 50's called DIVCO, they cut the cab off and filled in the opening. I'll be 10 10 on the side heading out to a 10 100. this reminds me of the cb'rs days. 10 4 good buddy
Yep what Barrett said just keep pluggin Mr. puddin and we're good don't burn yourself out. Speaking of good just started watching and stoked that the some day model A may see its day soon like 🤩
Hey congrats on the major progress on Puddins family dream house🏡 It would be awesome to see most any pre war Ford or Chevy or even Dodge Brothers truck cab if you can find one attached to that old box👍👍
Hey Puddin it’s the air flow that is getting caught between the car and the van If you are going to tow it a lot you might want to put a wind deflector on the car so the air is flowing over the top of the van and not hitting the front of it like it is now Cheers Buddy
Don't apologize for good content. Anyone pushing your builds aren't spending enough time/focus/energy on their own chores/builds/lives. The chemistry evident in the rare footage with your family shows you are hittin' all the high spots. Hard work, focus, family and fun creates a great vibe.
You may want to change the lock on the gate, one of your contractors employee may have spotted something that they want. Just something to think about. Thanks for sharing your videos!
I have a 1960's trail blazer. I converted it from a camper to a flatbed in 3 seconds. Wrapped a long chain around the base. Ha a 2500 HD chevy hitched to it. Did a sweet job of stripping everything off. It's only a 13 footer. . It's the handiest trailor I've ever owned. 👌👍👍
Your Travelall is sweet! Steve Magnante had one similar recently on his channel doing a junkyard crawl. The trailer box would look awesome on a 50s or 60s truck.
It’s just a guess but it wouldn’t surprise me if that was a U-haul at one point in it’s life. I was a U-haul dealer back in the day and I just get that vibe from the box construction/materials. I don’t think the fenders are original to it they look like they may have been added later, possibly when it was made into a trailer. Either way you seem to find the coolest things, I love it!
Doesn’t matter where you’re building Puddin, I’m still watching. You and your family deserve that new house. Just don’t forget to give us a tour of it when it’s finished
Hey PuDan, We don’t care where you build those projects; won’t hurt our feelings if you build them at the new place. The only person that is holding it against you, is you brother. Don’t be so hard on yourself bud. It’s a blessing that you can start builds at the new place sooner.
From one Air Force vet to another, love watching your videos and I'm sure that you inspire many with the builds you do. If it was me I'd keep it as a trailer but if you was to put a cab on it I'd go with a 40s Studebaker.... Just my opinion... Keep up the good work.
That thing almost looked like the back of a fire truck or a service truck of some sort. Love the patina on it. Probably fits well behind the cab of an unpainted WheelhopWilma :)
Just wanted to let you know I watch a lot of UA-cam and this by far my absolute favorite channel to watch love what you do thank you for being original
What a sweet old trailer. That thing would look awesome with that big ass pepper on top of it. 🌶️ pumped to see the model A build. Been talking bout it forever 💪
That trailer is cool! I see why you just had to have it. Those curved fenders are great! Since there is no patina livery on the curb side, add your Puddin’s Fab shop livery to it. Make it yours.
I think the truck that would look the best in front of that box that you have would be a Studebaker truck they have the swoop in the trim like the trailer does check it out see if you can find one of them and look forward to seeing you on the 15th
You know, Mortske comes across all kinds of cool old cabs in those farm auctions he goes to. Maybe you two can work something out to make a really unique box truck out of that trailer :)
That was my grandparent's - Bob and Edith Borden - and later my parent's restaurant! My grandfather started the Kai Kai Cafe in the mid 20th century then my parents sold it around 1987. It was originally in downtown Hillsboro and then moved to I-35. Contrary to a previous comment, it is not related to the current R&K restaurant.
late 40s GMC, those are knee action shocks, you can pull the drain plug on them, warm them up with a torch to melt all the old oil out of them then fill them with 90 weight, they were a real smooth riding shock, you could rebuild the rubber bushings the same way as you fix all your bushings, thats a bad ass trailer brother, gut the pig to reduce drag as well but i know you already plan to do that
Great video puddin, me and the wife loved seeing old wild man bill😁, and look at you name dropping ole sweet patina, you go guy keep smashing it sending love to you all from England
Looking forward to the Model A build! Happy things are going good for a fellow wrench 🔧 cranker. Can't even imagine how excited you are about your new home and shop. Living the dream brother. Keep up the good work. You are loved and blessed by many.
I would find an old 30's Hudson Terraplane cab. You could also mount the rear bed fenders on the side of the box to tie it all together with 15" steel'ees. 😊
I think the best cab to put in front of that would be a late 30s Chevy. That's what I thought of the second I saw it. And it needs real fenders on it instead of the flat shell metal.
Nice trariler find and it already has the white walls that you love. Speaking of white walls love that you have white letters on the YukonXL too. Also that was a really clean 88 or 89 OBS Chevy you parked next to when you got the trailer ball.
If you could find a 49-56ish studebaker pickup cab with similar patina that would be an awesome truck that would fit well. Those studes have a look of their own and almost look custom from factory compared to a Chevy or ford
Too bad you couldn't find an old late 30's REO Needle nose Truck. They are Small Cabs. It would look Good in front of that box ..Great Find Sir...And Video as always .
That's a super good thing everything on the new house is way Ahead of schedule some people are mounts behind schedule it only takes one thing to go on back order to put the breaks on everything then you get upset
Mortske called you the king of air bag rides in his latest video.😮 He told us be sure to mention it to you 🤠
DORKSIE is just trying to get himself some cheap advertising, because he knows that Puddin has the BEST channel on youtube.
@@markgriffin4888 Can't stand that guy.

That axle is an Eaton H72. It's the predecessor of the Gm corporate 14 bolt full float axle from 1 ton - 1.5ton Chevy truck. It was a 60s or older gm truck.
I kinda figured it looked like a Chevy rear end. It also looks like it's got the heavy duty leaf springs too.
@@mathewdavidson4108 that might have a few leafs added after it was a catering truck
40s is when they used that shock design.
Figure out what fender fits that weird cutout for the wheel and you’ll figure it out. My guess is early 40’s Chevy truck
The crossmember in front of the axle is a dead giveaway, it’s a 1941-46 Chevy 3/4 ton frame
A puddin video is always a sign of a good day
I wish puddin was on every day among a couple of others as well 😊
Hopefully he's not killing himself putting it all together
1950s Chevy Milk Truck box. I found a couple photos on Google with matching fender trim. I'll keep searching for more info!!
Almost certain it's a early gm rear axle so would make sense
I think your on the right track ,but those Thiccc doors make me think Ice cream truck. I wonder what Wheelhop Wilma’s cab would look like in front of that box.
Wilma's probably a bit wide for that.
Wilma's Cab is too big for that box.
That's what I was thinking too!
Came here to post the same thing!
Whil hop Wilma. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Big cab with a little short box might look bitchin
Bills the man . It’s so funny you said he doesn’t even watch the channel and see all the love he gets here .
That's so cool, that box is from my home town, asked some old timers around waiting to hear back if anyones got any history on it

@@stomper2582 2nd this, recovery isn’t for the faint of heart, but it will pay back more than you put in. Can’t put a price on health and life
Some sort of COE style cab for the box would be cool. Different from everything else already have.
That would be neat
I'm leaving 2 comments to feed the algorithm because it's that good
Hey Puddin, when you changing ball on ur receiver hitch, turn hitch sideways into receiver and use it like a vice , thata' way u ain't upside down ✌️
I don't guess he could hear me scream that, but that is the way to do it. I like to use my weight on the stuck nuts.
he said it was basically all one piece. I don't think it is a receiver i.e. doesn't come out.
Great idea, why didn’t I think of that?

Good guess
I don't think studebakers were 8x6.5 lug pattern. That's a 50s gm 1 ton
I know there were still a few things using lever action shocks until at least 1970 but they were definitely on the way out by the mid 50s.
I found an ad for the Kai-Kai Cafe in the back of the 1960 Hillsboro High School Yearbook. I'm guessing the trailer is 50's. There were many custom body companies back then.
