Think if I were you I'd read the instructions first.
Firstly I'd try and remove as much of the large, loose rust as I could. You also are supposed to paint it or cover it so it stops flash rusting. The rust you saw at the end was flash rust...
What I did on my fuel tank was heat up (steel) buckets of Deox-C on the cooker hob to 80 degrees C and slosh it around in the fuel tank. Stinks but much more effective! The hotter you can get the solution, the better it works.
Of course the Deox C has worked, it's removed loads of corrosion. You just need to leave it in longer. I've done allsorts with with Deox C in a 50 litre tub. Brake calipers, suspension arms, brackets, bolts etc etc etc and they were all corroded worse than that manifold. You might also want to use a tropical fish tank heater as that will keep the solution at about 25C so it works even better.
Yeah Iv used it loads of times just this time it didn't seem as good 😕
If you dont mind me asking, what do you do with the remaining fluid in your 50l tub. Do you reuse it or just drain it? Thanks
@jotjohal2787
I will use it about 5 time till the water is no longer effective then you can just poor it down the drain as its non toxic 👍
@@RetroCarsReborn thank you so much..
I use this all the time and Deox Gel incredibly good rust removers and I do wonder on these restoration TV programs where they use tin foil on rusty chrome yo only need to to use Deox Gel, I have a video of a Stag bumper it transformed it over night without any effort. Top products from Bilt Hamber
@col Vaughan
It's great stuff I used it to restore loads of small items I plan in the future to dunk an entire engine in the stuff see how that goes 😁
@@RetroCarsReborn protect the bores if you do
Megan’s manifolds used to do that for a pastime
Note like a rust remover 😎😎
Can this be used on brake parts calipers etc?
Yes I actually used it once on a pair of discs were a car had sat for a long time👍
Its a 3 day soak to do a chassis in evaporust.
20% solution of deox c is better than evaporust, where a 5% solution is about the same.

Failing that, eastwood rust remover looks exceptional, Krud Kutter (the must for rust) appears the best if we could still get it.
