    This is a comprehensive self funded Trip report Travel Vlog & aviation flight review of Ryanair from Edinburgh Airport in Scotland to Copenhagen Airport in Denmark.

      I can’t get where I want to without them. I know the deal so don’t try to beat it. I get there on time & let’s face it the longest I’ve been on a Ryanair plane was about 3 hours & I can live without food & a toilet for that short amount of time 😉

    Next Friday I'm going EDI-BER for £45 with 2 bags and legroom seat. This to me is the golden age of air travel. I'll visit Sir Walter Scott if timing allows. A pint settles me down after a stressful travel day as I live 4 hours drive from EDI. I try to have something on the plane even if it's just a coffee. RyanAir is better than many national carriers for legroom and service. Food offering is hit and miss, they should employ me to sort it out!

    Hello Dom, you successfully explained how Ryanair is so successful. LCCs operate early starts and late finishes for one other reason ... it means they can operate more sectors in one day. Each sector earns revenue from ancillaries and so on so if a budget airline can make eight flights in a day (as some can do on short routes) it means eight opportunities to earn money. Hence LCCs face issues when flying long-haul as fewer revenue-raising opportunities.

    We did Edinburgh to Dublin with RyanAir. Price was good. Staff were friendly. Getting on the plane at EDI was absolute, disorganized chaos. Insane. Have never seen anything like it in many decades of travel. Hopefully that was one-off.

    Ryanair are sound. As a South Londoner though, I really wish they did more flights from Gatwick. Stansted is a miserable experience, and costly/faffy to get to. Copenhagen is a great city. Hope you got to enjoy some of it before you rushed off to Greenland.

    It’s just insane price, it’s cheaper than getting a return to Aberdeen from Inverness on the train. Recently I flew EasyJet to Luton and back to Inverness in a day which was cheaper than getting a train to Edinburgh or Glasgow for the day

    Hey dom, just wanted to say I’ve watched you since the start and it’s great to see the improvement in your videos over time. You’re now one of my favourite travel UA-camrs, maybe I’m bias because I’m Scottish but you’re doing the nation proud. Also I’m curious, is this a full time career for you now, or is this a a side hustle?

    • @WorldWide_Dom
      @WorldWide_Dom  Місяць тому +1

      Genuinely from the bottom of my heart thank you. I am constantly trying to improve the videos to make them more appealing & nicer to watch for people. While i'd love to say that this is my full time job, sadly this is just a hobby as it doesn't really make enough money to pay for itself. Maybe one day the UA-cam gods will deem me fit to be a full time creator as i think that it the dream of many, but at this time I'd be happy if the channel paid for itself.
      Thank you once again. Your continued support is why I keep doing these. I always said from the start if my content makes just 1 persons day better then I'll keep at it. That said, constructive criticism is welcome as its your feed back that pushes me in the right directions to improve.

      A lot of the criticisms of RyanAir are people's expectations
      that even though they paid next to nothing for their flight
      they should still get the service of a full cost flight.
      A friend who is a Spanish teacher and flies to Spain regularly
      for holidays
      Once took Iberia and for the extra amount basically got a complimentary
      bag of nuts and two cups of coffee.
      I said that was the most expensive bag of nuts in the world.

    Beware seat pitch. We used to be able to be glad of a standard 30 inches - more than BA in economy by an inch. But now they operate the 737 Max as well and have configured that more tightly. It goes down to 28. Its no good banking on a planned 737-800, because they can easily be substituted on the day and the more Max's they get the more likely. There is nuance within the Max seating but it goes as low as 28, which is just too far in my opinion. 29 was too far. 30 was too far really.

    • @WorldWide_Dom
      @WorldWide_Dom  Місяць тому

      I didn’t know that about Ryanair’s max8-200, thanks for informing.

    • @Fat_Cat_747
      @Fat_Cat_747 Місяць тому

      @@WorldWide_Dom There is actually more nuance now within BA's short haul fleet as well. Before we used to know it was 29 but a whole inch more in Club Europe ( wow, 30 ! ). There was an exception in that the way the cabin arithmetic worked out on a 319 - everybody got 30.
      Now, if my information is correct, the neo, or particularly with the 321 neo, they squeezed so many in that at certain points in the aircraft it goes right down to 28. Yes that's right, 28 on a British Airways aircraft ( at the back it is ). By the way, I've also noticed that on certain airlines there can be a difference between port and starboard seat pitch for certain rows of seats. i.e. ABC, being an inch less than DEF across the aisle at that bit of the aircraft.
      Back to BA, also be aware that the CityFlyer subsidiary are doing the dirty on us with seat pitch. The Embraer aircraft they operate are/were quite nice in how they felt to sit in but now they are taking it down to 28 as a standard. I don't know what it will be in Club Europe - hopefully you'll still get your 30. Its such a shame because CityFlyer do some interesting routes and especially out London City. They also have the likes of ( still nice ) Swiss Air to compete with so I was a little surprised they did it. You could say to yourself ah well I can always go Club Europe, but then, they already spoiled that on CityFlyer Embraers by refusing to block the neighbouring seat. They treat us as stupid by literally saying, oh well there's no "middle" seat to block, so its like d'uh we mean obviously you have to sit next to someone ! When of course the principle and practical benefit is to do with not having a neighbour rubbing shoulders ( regardless of how the aircraft is configured ). KLM do this too by the way. Its a joke. The way they now/will take the piss in the Embraers means they are a no-go for my fatness and little point in going CE either. Such a shame. LCY was still a bucket list one for me.
      I hate to see news of these kind of reductions. Because you just know, damn this is precedent. Sure enough more of this cack follows elsewhere. Certain airlines are no go for me in totality. Wizz for example, with their universal 28 inch pitch, unless its an exit row seat, in which case my fatness couldn't take the reduction in seat width and besides I would be disallowed on grounds of use of seat belt extender - not allowed there. Some other '28' airlines do have a few extra leg room seats without them being exit row seats - TUI are an example. Good on them.
      Already at least one airline has densified then A350 to ten. It was bad enough on 777's, but this is worse. Hardly anyone still does 9 on a 777 ( Thai do I think still ). Hardly anyone does the design 8 on a 787 ( JAL do ). The whole situation is so depressing. As for egress safety, I just don't believe it should pass safety. I mean, do they actually use real world sized people in the tests ?
      The reason I know so much about this is not that I'm a frequent flyer or industry insider, rather it is a combination of being a right fat B ( so therefore have to know my seating ! ) with also being a bit of an avgeek as well.

    Your onboard analysis boiled down to "It's all economy, the food is ok". This felt like much more of an Edinburgh airport review than a Ryanair one, which is really shown by the 3 minutes of the Ryanair part of the video being unspoken timelapses.
