Rhubarb Crumble

  • A Sunday lunch stalwart! I make crumbles pretty regularly as they are popular with the whole family, and can accommodate whatever fruits are in season, or that are waiting in the freezer. The addition of chopped nuts is great for both flavour and nutrition, ditto the oats. I use all organic ingredients - primarily from an environmental perspective - organic farming sequesters carbon, increases biodiversity, and works with nature rather than against it. As a bonus, organically grown crops tend to have higher concentrations of vital vitamins and minerals for human health - win win!
    Recipe (give or take):
    6-800g fruit - rhubarb in this case.
    220g organic plain flour
    200g organic butter (salted is fine)
    150g organic brown sugar (can be white if preferred)
    100g organic porridge oats
    50g organic chopped walnuts
    Pinch salt
    Teaspoon ground ginger.
    YUM!

    I do wish you were using a microphone though! The sound is sometimes very low.

      Thank you! Yes you’re right about the sound- we’re doing it on a shoestring. Maybe a microphone for Christmas?!
