Would win in a shootout
99 rams vs 2019 chiefs
Probably the Rams. They got a little more firepower.
Chiefs don’t have a RB that is 1/10th as good as Marshall Faulk
99 rams
The 99 Rams I believe would win in a shootout
Rams
The 2018 Chiefs scored more points against much harder schedule. The ‘99 Rams literally had the easiest 16 game schedule in NFL history. Whatever advantage the Rams would have with Faulk wouldn’t make up for the Chiefs having Mahomes and Kelce instead of Warner and whatever bum the Rams put at tight end. Tyreek Hill was better in 2018 than Isaac Bruce was in 1999. If the game was at home the Rams would have a big advantage. If they played in KC then forget it.
Ohhh all of the legends in this one game… Warner, Faulk, Bruce, Owens, Rice, Holt, and Pace.
And Garner, Garcia and Bryant Young were above average in their prime. But the Rams were destined that season. Never seen anything like it.
not to mention a young london fletcher
Im a packers for nfl and Auburn for college but overall as a player Orlando pace was the best besides Jerry rice in their prime on the field and that's no disrespect to Kurt Warner, Marshall faulk, and owens for example but Orlando pace was That good !
london fletcher
Shoot 7 freakin HOFamers man these are the days
How London fletcher isn’t in the hall of fame is boggling
One of the few Daniel Snyder splash moves that actually worked out lmao
You gotta think about all that offensive talent that the Rams possessed! Large # of those greats already in the Hall w Issac Bruce being selected as a part of the 2020 class. He'll get in but the way they do the selections for SB winning team players at times be a long wait
The Rams should have never let London Fletcher walk in free agency after 2001. The same with Az Zahir Hakim. The Rams suffered a lot from those two losses in 2002.
@@joshingram071 I really hope he does. He’s the only linebacker from that era with comparable stats to Ray freakin Lewis!!!
Agreed Joe! Before coaching the Rams,Dick Vermeil said Fletcher was a great college player but was too small to pay in the NFL.If you look at Fletcher's stats one has to shake their head and wonder why he's not in.
Issac Bruce
5 Rec, 134 Yards and 4 TDs
Only 5 receptions what a bust. Meanwhile 5 receptions later 50 touchdowns and a HOF.
Greatest Show on Turf
@@AlBeQuirky Is Issac Bruce The 2020 Hall Of Famer Now?
@@tyreepowell8367 Yep he is in the class of 2020 who will be having their ceremony in a few weeks two weeks before the 2021 class this year because of COVID-19
UN-FRICKIN-BELIEVABLE…!!!! 😳
Kurt Warner was incredible!!!!!
Yes he was sir, kurt warner was a incredible player.
If Warner were plugged into this San Fransico team they'd probably been just as dynamic.
@@ckobo84 they calling purdy mvp Warner🏆
@@mpr-wrldkind of the same story …underdogs … but the age difference makes it wild
This team came out of nowhere just dominating lmfao. Definitely the fastest team I've ever watched man. They were just mindblowing and fun to watch. One of the best teams in nfl history
Isaac Bruce was a hell of a WR. He's not the only one in the family that had some serious skills catching the ball as his cousin Arland was a great CFL WR. In fact, he's probably a HOFer at least IMO.
Never knew he had a cousin in the CFL.
The Greatest Show on Turf. One of the most threatening offenses in nfl history. Warner was such a legend. Ik he’s a hall of famer but imagine what he could’ve been if he didn’t have the injuries.
yeah mahomes would have gotten fucked up bad back then.
This was revenge game for Rams from all those years humiliation to tell 49ers that Rams are serious
That Rams offense was unstoppable in 99 especially on that astro truf 🔥
I think this Rams team was the best NFLteam in history. Just my opinion 👍
They benefitted from an incredibly easy schedule and turnover luck, I would actually say the 2001 Rams were a better team than the 99 Rams.
I'm a big Rams fan, Rams is my favorite team, thank you
@@BLSMOOZYSMOOVE this year ain't this one
I remember this game. Its when I knew the end was near for my 49ers
I miss watching the greatest show on turf.
Niners set themselves up to be humiliated by saying "same old Rams" leading up to the game since SF had the Rams number for several years, dismissing what the Rams had achieved offensively up to that game and not taking them seriously
SFs defense was horrible that year (Jags blew then out first game of the year) and losing Steve Young didn't help
And now the roles are reversed. The 9ers have the Rams #
That wasn't leading up to this game. That was a remark made by Dana Stubblefield back in 1995 when the 49ers came to St. Louis and thrashed them. Stubblefield wasn't even a 49er in 1999.
@@808mitch roles have not reversed....Rams were in the playoffs last year....49ers in last place.
@@AK-qo6tx I’m sorry are we talking about the same Rams couldn’t even beat an injury-riddled 9ers team? Or are we talking about the Rams team that gave the god awful Jets their 1st win of the season when they were supposed to go 0-16? No wait I know… we’re talking about the same Rams team that only scored 3 points in the Super Bowl even with the refs handing them the NFC Championship on a silver platter. No matter how you want to paint it or dress it, they’re still the SAME 👏 OL 👏 SORRY 👏 ASS 👏 RAMS
@@808mitch you mean the same Rams team that kicked the Seahawks ass in Seattle in the playoffs. The same Seahawks team that kicked the whiners ass.
I wish I could go back in time and watch this team.
It was fun to watch them. Plus the fact that it was out of nowhere with their intended starter, Trent Green, out for the season
@@AlBeQuirky we will rally around Kurt Warner and play good football lmao dick vermeil cried win lose or draw lmao but still a hell of a coach
The previous season's playoff loss the 49ers suffered vs the Falcons was kind of the end of that era of tremendous 49ers football starting in 1981, but this game really was the passing of the torch to be the top team in the NFC West.
Football is right around the corner 🏈
Issac Bruce and Terrell Owens best era
Ram fan since 1959. This season was a very satisfying experience. Suffered thru many losing seasons and playoff loses.
The Rams offense were known as “The Greatest Show on Turf”. They also were really good on the defensive side of the ball
Werewolves of London Fletcher
Do u remember at first they were known as the warner brothers? Glad they changed it to greatest show on turf lol
Nah the offense was legit but that defense benefitted from going against weak offenses week in and week out…and then they got exposed the next year
@@JahNuhThunDeeTheOneAndOnly You mean when the Patriots honed in their cheating skills?
@@iamgabrielf I’m talking about the 2000 season when the Rams lost to the Saints in the wild card
Another highlight to be added into my playing lists, thanks Throwback !
Why eat kfc u have kfc wifi
I like after Kurt Warner threw that interception he looked like 'that wasnt on me, that was a good play... I still have confidence"
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Alas, this game was the stamp of approval that the 49ers glory years from 1981 to 1998 were finished. I believe 17 straight victories over the Rams came to an end this day. Even if we had Steve Young that year, the team was clearly on fumes. Oh well. Rams played great in 1999, and deserved everything they earned.
Well said even though I'm a Packers fan lol
The 49ers were loaded with talent and HOFers and pro-bowlers. The defense was after Warner all day. This was the game that showed the Rams were for real.
The official end of the 49ers dynasty was this game. I’ll never forget it. Young was out but Garcia came in and led them to an impressive win over a good Titans team the week prior so we still had hope the Niners would end up being pretty good. Then they ran into the buzz saw that was the 1999 Rams.
This was the moment the country took notice of the Rams and knew they were for real. Watching how fast those guys zipped around on the artificial turf is incredible.
Throwback. Congratulations. The NFL official site used your video the other day. Good job!
This is an official NFL channel..lol.
@@whodeytko That makes a lot of sense. That explains where all that great footage comes from!
For non-HD, the film quality is excellent.
9:17 I don’t think you’ll see a team punt from that field position ever again
Bruce is a unit
Man Kurt put up crazy numbers with less than 30 passes.
This is one of the most gratifying wins EVER!! Greatest team and season EVA
My uncle Larry had season tickets to the 1999 season this was my favorite game of the year Warner and Bruce tearing up the 49ers and Tony Hornes Kickoff for a TD Rams defense also did an awesome job
Another game you might want to spotlight from this season is Vikings at Broncos week 8. Down to the wire finish.
God I remember watching this game enjoying every single drop of it. That's how much I hate the 49ers. The Rams hadn't even been competitive with them except for a game in 1994 on Sunday Night Football most famous for Flipper Anderson beating peak Deion Sanders deep. 18 straight losses IIRC. And the most soul crushing being the one in 1995 when the Rams, feeling good about their great start in St. Louis, got absolutely DUMP TRUCKED at Busch Stadium 44-10 and Dana Stubblefield called them the 'same ol' sorry a** Rams!'. In many ways, that game sent the Rams back into mediocrity it took trading for Marshall Faulk, drafting Torry Holt, and lucking in to the greatest story in NFL history in Kurt Warner to get out of. But most people were skeptical...even if the 49ers were vulnerable, this was San Francisco and the Rams. That matchup was like a German tank vs a SMART car. And seeing the Rams just jump them and continue to attack was sweet. This was the true ascension of the Greatest Show on Turf and the true end IMHO of the 49ers dynasty. Perfect symmetry.
Fast forward to now & the 9ers are back to owning the Rams. The universe is back in balance 😌
@@808mitch lol you sure about that Rams beat Niners to get to super bowl then won the super bowl🐏
@@808mitch That didn't age well.
@@808mitch OOOPS!
@@iamgabrielf it aged fine. 49ers are 8-1 in their last 9 against the Rams. The 1 loss just happened to be in the most important of the 9.
My dad took me to this game 12 years old
That 49ers pass defense was one of the worst in NFL history!
It was, I am sure every QB that yr couldn't wait to face that 49ers. Steve Beurlien had 2 fantastic games against them.
U at this??
Weird to see Jerry Rice not get that many targets
Kurt Warner was a bagboy in the supermarket lol and then became greatest show on turf took full advantage after Trent green got injured.
Dam that rams team was stacked and good 🤫
You guys gotta do the 99 Rams vs Bengals game. Az Hakim had 3 receiving TDs and a punt return TD
Gotcha fam: ua-cam.com/video/zjPlCIWNRZ0/v-deo.html
this was a beautiful time for watching football
like those rams uniforms.
It was a mistake ditching those unis right after winning the Super Bowl with them in 1999 imo.
That is one of the many, many reasons why #80 was selected for the 2020 class for the Pro Hall of Fame
Sorry, but BOTH of those uni's are 🔥
I felt like Warner was better in his early years. He played the same tempo as arena league.
His body broke down.
Oh man, I remember that season, the Rams started off 6-0 with this no name QB after Trent Green went down in the pre-season, they went all the way that year, Mike Jones who had an interception in this game made "The tackle" of Kevin Dyson inches from the end zone to beat Air McNear RIP and the Tennessee Titans to win the superbowl. good times!
It was crazy too that they started 6-0 each of the 1999, 2000, and 2001 seasons
@@AlBeQuirky no wonder they did, that offense was a juggernaut, led by two hall of famers (you could argue that Tory Holt is a hall of fame WR too), they led the NFL in total offense all three seasons you mentioned, they got beaten by the Saints in 2000 when Azahir Hakim dropped the kick off at the end of the game but they were depleted that year, in 2001 if it wasn't for a certain Tom Brady, they would've won their second in three years.
@@klolo73 ppl forget the rams were down 17-3 in the 4th to the Pats so they came back to tie it then Brady did what he did
@@iselin90 Now Everyone Knew Why The Patriots Made That Comeback.
@@iselin90 you're not kidding, that offense could score at the drop of a hat, but in the end, Brady's coolness prevailed, even the great John Madden was advocating to play for over time, bottom line is, the Rams ran out of time once Mike Martz figured out what Bellichick was doing.
Week 1 needs to be here
65 days from today
I was just watching the 1999 rams America’s game when this was posted. Coincidence?
I remember this year. The Rams had come out hot and all the talking heads on ESPN and football morning shows were saying the same thing. "Today we find out if the Rams are for real", I heard it all morning. Everyone was pumping the breaks on the Rams because they had SEEN this before, like the year they started 5-0 and then played the 9ers who SMASHED them back to earth. I knew going INTO that year something was different, I was telling people BEFORE the season the Rams were going to win it all...and I NEVER did that. I even cut out their schedule so I could mark off the games. What a year.
That rams offensive line gave Warner hours to throw deep. Underrated line.
The 1999 STL Rams were a crazy good team. If you count the actual points total in the 3 losses. They were only 2 TD's and the kicks. 14 points from a perfect season.
This game was literally the last game of relevance of the Walsh/Siefert era 49ers.. Young was already hurt and essentially bound for retirement. This was Rice’s last year in SF. Garcia’s first year starting. TO starting to enter his prime.
Mooch and Bill Walsh had a quickish reload and got them back to the playoffs in 01 and 02.. but after that, they let Mooch walk and Erickson was a stiff.. the last holdovers from the Siefert/Mooch days either left or retired.. then they were in the toilet for basically a decade until Harbaugh.
Definite changing of the guard feel to this this game. Even back then.. this is when folks started taking the Rams somewhat serious.
Fun Fact: The 49ers were 4-9 at one point in the 1999 season.
They were bad that year. They were so bad that my eventual 6-10 Steelers beat them up 27-6 at Candlestick Park and that was the last time the Steelers beat the 49ers in San Francisco. No wins there in the 21st century yet.
Steve Young being hurt and that garbage defense were the reason for that
man them rams could kill you in so many ways ( kick returns , Horne ) punt returns Az, Faulk, Bruce, Holt. Man, so fast too. Don't think there has been anything like it
they was freaking amazing
This year the Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. The Rams then went on to win the Super Bowl.
rams shoulda built a statue to Mike JOnes for that tackle in the Super Bowl
The Fall of the 49er Empire began four weeks earlier when they were massacred by Jacksonville, 41-3. But this game made it certain. They went 1-10 after this. "Olympus has fallen," was my note from this game.
I remember Charlie Garner from that one run vs the Steelers when he was with the Raiders
Yep, that is unfortunately how I remember Garner. Still was such a shifty guy
@@AlBeQuirky Yes Sir, I Agree
When the 49ers kicked that field goal to cut it to 28-20 late in the third quarter, you could hear the Rams fans getting nervous and restless, such was the stigma of the 49ers' dominance over them for the whole decade. The Horne kick return right after it was sort of the signal that this year was going to be different.
love my Rams....
I know everyone here talks about Bruce and Holt, but let's not forget who the Niners had. Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens. Definitely an amazing receiving duo.
Still the best offense that ever existed!
2007 pats better
Ray Bentley (former Bills linebacker and author of several children’s books about Darby the Dinosaur) and Ron Pitts (former Bills and Packers cornerback and son of Elijah, who played running back on Lombardi’s Packer teams of the ‘60’s) with the call of this 1999 Week 5 matchup.
That last Bruce TD was a dime
What a pick at 11:47 by Mizzou boy and Super Bowl 34 hero Mike Jones!
This game should've been in American Underdog the Kurt Warner story movie because it was that important for the Rams mini dynasty.
Man, Kurt Warner sliced these guys up like a bunch of teenaged campers on Friday the 13th.
Worst pass D in the league that year
So happy they realigned the divisions they had the Arizona in the Nfc east
11 guys in a bar on a beautiful early September Saturday afternoon: "You're drafting Warner? The Arena Guy that's replacing Green? Your crazy!". 12th guy (me): "I have a hunch he might be good for the bye week when I have to bench Favre...." Lol.
After 17 straight humiliating losses to the 49ers from 1990 through 1998 the Rams finally had their day.
Say what you may about Astroturf
It's visual appeal still holds up
I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it was just announced that a biopic about Kurt Warner (titled American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story; starring Zachary Levi) will be released on December 10.
We now join John Madden and Pat Summerall....
criminal it took 6 years for him to get into the HOF
Marshall Faulk was a damned nightmare, especially with a bad defense
The biggest difference between these teams was the speed, the Rams were so much faster than the 49ers. The biggest Rams win over the 49ers until 3 weeks ago.
That Rams defense doesn't get much of a rest lol
