This Vikings game was maybe a foreshadowing of that as they blew a 17-0 lead in similar fashion against Oakland, only without recovering at the end to still win. That end to the season always seemed to me like one of the big "What Ifs" in Kansas City sports, given that Derrick Thomas got in his car wreck the following weekend, whereas if they had won they would have had a playoff game that weekend so he wouldn't have been in that situation. Overall those 90s Chiefs were such an enjoyable team to follow, even if they did perennially come up short in the playoffs. It's hard to overstate just how obsessed the city was with them. And all those years of playoff heartbreak just made it all the more satisfying when they finally broke thru and won it all a couple years ago. Go Chiefs!

Would love to see Raiders 49ers from 2000 or 2014 since we’re matched up with them this Sunday. As for this game, it’s a shame people forget about the Spin Doctor Robert Smith. This Vikings offense wasn’t quite as dominant as they were in 98, but Randy Moss did say Jeff George was his all time favorite QB. If they kept him in 2000 it would’ve been interesting to see if Culpepper starts or if he has to wait behind George. Also imo these are the best Vikings uniforms ever.

I thought 1999 would be the year the Vikings would go to the Super Bowl after the record breaking season they had the year before. Then the Greatest Show on Turf showed up and they went on to win the Super Bowl, led by unknown QB named Kurt Warner.
I was a Chiefs season ticket holder back then and can say I was not a fan of Grbac, I think he threw for 5 touchdowns and 1100 yards for the whole 16 games...Patrick Mahomes he was not.
