This is my fifth year after retirement. I’ve been following the 4% rule thing I saw on a UA-cam channel, but this isn’t really how hard I expected things to be. After I cashed out a lump sum, I still have about $760k left, but at this rate, and with how the market is (we were putting money away in an index fund), I’m starting to get worried.

Amazingly, you were able to save that much during your active years. Not a lot of people can save that much in a lifetime. But now you are retired and depend on your investment, it’s best you redistribute your capital, so you are not left devastated during a market crash or recovery. To simplify the process, you could allocate your resources with the help of a financial advisor.

@@BrittanyRenfrew Yeah, I’m also closing in on retirement, and I have benefitted much from using a financial advisor. I didn’t start early, so I knew the compound interest of index fund investing would not work for me. Funny how I pulled in more profit than some of my peers who have been investing for many years.

Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. A trader made over $350k in this recession influenced market

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.

Overall, most traders think this year would favor stocks, and other equity-based investments over Treasury yields and other cash-like investments. I’m still looking for opportunities in the market that yields huge profits and hedge against crash or recession.

look for stocks that have steadily paid for decades without cutting their dividends even during crisis. imho, speaking to a certified market strategist/advisor can be more helpful than harmful at this point

The issue is people have the "I want to do it myself mentality" but not equipped enough for a crash, hence get burnt. Ideally, advisors are the reps for investing jobs, and at first-hand encounter, my portfolio has yielded over 300% since covid-19 outbreak to date.

Accurate asset allocation is crucial, I used hedging strategies to allocate part of my portfOlio to defensive assets for market downturns. Expert guidance is vital for achieving this. This approach has helped me stay finan-cially secure for over five years, yielding nearly $1 million in returns on invest-ments.

not their fault, the stock market seems to be more of a casino for gamblers now than a place for investors. even if you were averaging down on ailing companies, its your duty to properly research, buying the dip does not guarantee a rebound

Such uncertainty is the reason I don't base my conviction on rumors or a ''hearsay'' I have my day-to-day investing decisions being guided by an invt-advisor, seeing that their skillset is built around long and short term, both employing profit-oriented strategies and providing hedge against inevitable downtrends, coupled with exclusive analysis, it's near-impossible to not outperform. I've realized over $600k from $235k capital, since late 2019 just before the pandemic to date.

This is especially worrying for retirees, because in most cases, bonds underpin their entire portfolio. Treasury bonds, municipal bonds, investment-grade corporate bonds and high-yield bonds. They’re all pretty much in the same bag.

Funny the Blackstone guy said rental housing is coming down. Everyone I know who rents has talked about the opposite with rents going higher (in some cases much higher). Glad I'm a homeowner with a 3.75% rate factor. Lots of fairy dust in these readers of the tea leaves IMHO.
