The new Prado has been very well publicised and reviewed over in the states (albeit, named just ‘Land Cruiser’ not Prado, and with a petrol engine), plus it is already on sale and has been so for a little bit now. It is built on a whole new platform, so it will 100% drive differently to the 150 series. Also, please don’t take this as trolling or having a dig, more just constructive criticism, but it is pretty evident that none of you know much about american trucks at all… lots of incorrect info and a lack of knowledge going on here. Good to have it as a discussion topic though with the increase in popularity of them at this point in time. Keep up the good work though guys! I really do enjoy your shows!
Hey lads love the show. Worth noting that I recon the TRX isn't the Ram 1500 you are buying if you want to tour as the TRX is the fun/crazy/super expensive Ram. Surely you'd want a standard 1500 (smaller NA petrol v8 with much better fuel economy) or the 2500 with the cummins diesel. Much love from your Pilbara Corespondant.
C/mon guys, time to start showing visuals of what you're referring to. This has been going on for way too long. Other channels are able to do so, so I'm unclear on why you're not taking whatever measures are required to show the content. Other than that I appreciate your content, but for bloody sake show us what you're talking about! cheers
@@BackChat This is my personal preference of course and others my have other opinions Considering this is a chat based segment why not just show the visuals of the vehicle or product when you introduce them and then switch back to the talk panel. Cheers
It would have been nice for you guys to make a distinction between a 1500/150 2500/250 or 3500/350 Your 1500/150 would be best compare to aussie dual cabs. 2500/250 can go either be first registered either for c class or a Light truck/medium rigid. When you change that first registration will change your gvm/gcm. Then you go from there
Oh yes please... Been loving the ineos reviews but this is something I've been keen on anybody to do... With the cost, licensing issues and the gvm/gcm why would you not be in the market for an offroad truck like the fuso 4x4 starting at $92k for a dual cab and the isuzu nps 300 dual cab starting at $150k Thanks for a great show boys 👏👏
G'day boys. Hate to say but you are comparing apples and oranges. First of all you need to either compare 1500s or 2500s. The TRX is the performance version of the 1500 and shouldn't be compared with the others. Your comparisons should be like the RAM 1500 range, silverado 1500 range and the Ford f150 range. Obviously would also depend on trim spec. You're comparing a TRX to a chev 2500 to a F150. All different.
So I have a Silverado 1500. It’s actually pretty good on fuel, not that heavy and can tow like a boss. It’s not a hardcore 4wd but it will surprise you what it can do. I don’t understand the diesel fixation as the new petrols are impressive.
Good work boys. Now the biggest question (as an overlander) Would you buy 76 2.8L GXL ( $88K) or LC250 altitude ($100+K) In regards to American shits I have noticed lot more American trucks towing big caravans in the outback on my last trip. Used to be all Landcruisers. I will newer buy American shits and in my opinion they are not suits to Aussie roads and Australian parking slots are 2600mmX 5400mm long with aisle are only 6600mm in width Thanks keep it up
From my understanding the silverado is the same car but can be either registered as a nb1 or nb2 category (nb2 being a mr license) as far as i know both the ram 2500 and f250 are a max gvm of 4495 gvm. 3500 and f350 are basically the same car but higher gvm.
Love the show! Quick question based on a comment Ronny made about his spotlights on the new 76. I have just purchased the same BZRX215s for my new 76 2.8, which I am absolutely loving. Can you let me know what the adapter is I need to fit these lights when using the supplied harness? Thanks!
Just replaced my GU Patrol for a 1500 Ram and get 19 towing 2.5t and average 2ltr better than our Patrol around town. Glow sticks/sparklers for kids, beach bucket and toys for bush and beach
Problem with the Prado, like most 4WDs, is that they’re majority mall crawler so prices go up and up and they become more like Land Rovers. It sed to be the affordable 4WD of the range. Now, not so much.
Fantastic episode, Ronny showing his age talking about a C class licence. American trucks have the wider stance n are no good for Australian tracks as they will tear up the tracks n cause closures. Other than that they are pricey n have shit fuel economy

Good point, but we couldn't not include the TRX purely for that fun aspect 🤣🤣
@@BackChatCouldn't understand you didn't include the top spect RAM2500 because it's insanely good.
@@BackChat It would be insane fun for sure haha

Were the images on the TV in background not good enough? Didn't throw images in because we thought that would be good... easy fix
@@BackChat Have never noticed images in the background. Cheers

Pricing is all plus on roads. And the white roof is on the altitude model and the heritage models in us

the prado 250 doesn't actually have a split tailgate despite the looks
What kind is it?

That's a great question 🤣 I think the 76 2.8L would have to be it
You don't buy an american truck to daily. You buy it to tow or travel rural where parking isn't an issue

350s/3500s have a different chassis and suspension setup to accommodate the higher payload and towing capacity.
