I made dip pens out of tree branches I find. And honestly just as good as the metal ones and u get to decides the width. Also it's free and tbh the dip pens I bought is 52 dollars. Tho the nibs are pretty cheap. Tho the barrel/ pen holder is kinda pricy
I think you are selling yourself short! I was honestly admiring the way you were shading the forms until you pointed out the few areas where you didn’t. In a way, I think that added some interest to the lines, as some parts were more plain and others more detailed. The flat lines that didn’t go with the form pushed some elements back, which pulled the focus to the subject and the more detailed parts of the chair and dress where you did follow the form. I really enjoyed this video!
Oh My Gosh I've never been so early! My guess for next week is Lydia from Beetlejuice! I would LOVE to see you draw Winona Ryder she's one of my most absolute favorite actresses!
@@imawonder Get Out! I'm starstruck rn!! I love your work, every time I get a notification for one of your videos I drop whatever I am doing to go watch it! You're such an inspiration thank you for making my whole month!!!
This is so majestic! The bold red really brings the illustration together and I love how you aren't afraid to try different mediums and techniques. I recently bought my first dip pen but can't figure out how to get the ink to flow properly xD I'll definitely need to investigate this more so I can try out using it for line work in the future. Glad you mentioned the scratchy noises because I found this too and sometimes it feels a little like nails on a chalkboard haha
i just got my first dip pen too! if your nibs are super new, there's a protective layer that they put on from the factory for the nibs to not rust/get damaged before you buy them, gotta really clean them off first. i used some alcohol wipes and it really helps the ink flow! and i've found using a tissue to insert them into the pen helps a lot cause the oils on our fingers gets in the way of ink flow
bruh... I have never seen Addam's Family (nor have I been particularly interested in doing so) but this illustration LITERALLY MAKES ME WANT TO GO AND WATCH IT. She looks SO badass and this is probably my favorite piece of yours. she ZESTY o whatevahhh 😍😍😍(also the background music goes really well) SUPER amazing job and I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!! (literally gonna rewatch this a few times and wish I could draw lol :))
aaah I can't believe that these series are already ending, it was sooooo good and omg how i love your illustrations, your style is just perfect!! and also you look so pretty with those lashes, i love it soo much
Love listening to how you figure out new art supplies, keep it up! The drawing, to me, looks more like Elvira than Morticia but either way, you trying a new supply is so much better than me working with a supply for months lol
Beautiful painting! Really love that you're using a different technique but it's still so clear that this piece was drawn by you. I would've loved so dip pen painting asmr ^_^
Wow!! Like holy moly wow! This turned out gorgeous. Okay well, all of your illustrations do but this. . this is just, okay I am lost for words! She looks like she could rip out a heart stomp on it and push it back in its place OwO
I like dip pens. Also ink is so fun to work with, you get so much variations and also I made my own wood dip pens and I find it so fun and relaxing. Also typical black and white inky art is so pretty. Also you can work with different colour ink, I also recently bought a water proof/smudge proof ink. Which is so good with water colour illustrations!! Cause I ink first and then colour. And the ink doesn't bleed and it makes using water colour easier😌🖤
So cool you made your own wooden dip pen! Maybe I'll have to try one of those in the future! Also agreed, I look forward to using the dip pens with some coloured inks too!
This one came out gorgeous! I love red in paintings, drawings, art, etc. so I'm very excited to see what you come up with next. Provided that I'm correct, that is (It's Lydia, isn't it?).
I really like your videos and personality in them. You obviously have some kind of script (maybe just notes, we will never know 😂) but you still sound SUPER genuine - especially in your intonation. There's so much variety QwQ ❤️ PLUS YOUR ART IS DOPE 👏 I saw this piece in my feed in insta and didn't even recognize it was made by you so I- 🤯 it's such a nice piece!! ✨ 💕
oh a tip for dip pens is to start in the top corner opposite from ur dominate hand. like if your a righty start in the top left and work your way down to bottom right. Less worry of smudging.
Oh wow, this Morticia looks amazing!!!! I loved the hatching, and the pop of red! The architecture of the chair was quite lovely as well! My guess for next week, while I myself have never watched it... I believe it’s gonna be Lydia from Beetlejuice? It’s the only red bridal gown in a Halloween movie I can think of anyways... again, great video this week! Can’t wait for next week’s!! I’ve loved this Halloween series!
Ok, this is so much my aesthetic :0 Watching you do the linework was just so mesmerizing and I loved the mostly monochromatic theme with just the pop of red! As far as the next character it's definitely Lydia from Beetlejuice
I like using glass dip pens! I feel so awkward using regular fine liners because of my heavy-handedness. They're normally so expensive and the amount I've completely demolished is horrendous SO I started using dip pens and they completely changed my inking game! Definitely recommend 💕 Plus they're super pretty to look at!
This is wonderful. Morticia is my fave Addams. Regarding the tape, have you tried painters tape instead of masking tape? You get it at any hardware store, its usually a blue colour. I find it has a super good adhesion but releases very easily without tearing the paper. If you get a chance, you should try a glass nib pen, those are lovely too.
Yes have tried painters tape! I ran out and have yet to restock my supply but that probably would be the better choice for this paper AH yes I really want to try a glass nib pen, I saw them on sale a while back and regret not picking one up!
I really enjoyed watching you working on black and white! But I agree that that red was a necessary touch! 😅 Really nice work! Btw my gues is that the next week's character will be the corpse bride! From tim burton
Morticia is such a badass. Great depiction of her! I thought your use of the dip pen was well executed. I tried using one recently, but idk if I was doing it wrong because I kept having to dip is so quickly.
Thanks so much! I'm still very new with nibs but it's possible that maybe different nibs have different ink carrying capacities? It's all trial and error really!
I've used dip pens a few times when I took a Beginner and Advanved Illustration class at my college. I actually really like using ink and dip pens because you have a nice variation of linework and they're good for small details. But I still need a lot more practice with ink though. I've also used different colored inks as well besides black and they're good too. They're the same brand. I should go back to it. It's been a while since I've used them. I think your illustration of Morticia Addams turned out really well. I love it. I think the character for your last Halloween illustration is Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm going to miss these Halloween illustrations. October is going by so fast. 😨
lovee how this looks with the red background and accents!! which nib are you using? JUST this week i got into dip pens but more to feel fancy writing things and picked up a Nikko G nib and a Brause Steno which were pretty cheap but great. your nib seems to hold so much ink it looks great
I've really enjoyed the few times I've used dip pens, and really only use microns for the speed, though I've always used Hot Press for all of my watercolor work and ink work. I'm surprised you had those issues with the ink washes sitting, I never really felt that was an issue, could have been the brand?
I wonder if it's the brand of paper I'm using! Majority of my hot press paper experience is from the brand Fluid so maybe I gotta try out a different brand haha
this piece is so amazing!!! glad you decided to try something different!! About the animated movie lol i haven't heard anything good like i wouldn't say it's worth the watch but you never know you might like it so give it a go? And for the character, That girl Lydia from beetlejuice!

So glad!! Thanks so much!
Hey I just subbed to your channel! Your art is so awesome! You deserve more hype. Do you have digital art tips?
i’ve been waiting for my order of dip pens to arrive for a week now, but this is enough to stave me off until they get here!
Ooh hope you have fun with them!
So I'm curious, did ya get them yet and do ya like them?
I made dip pens out of tree branches I find. And honestly just as good as the metal ones and u get to decides the width. Also it's free and tbh the dip pens I bought is 52 dollars. Tho the nibs are pretty cheap. Tho the barrel/ pen holder is kinda pricy

That's such a nice way of looking at it! Thank you so much for your kind words
def check out the animated remake! it’s a great iteration imo as another millennial that loved the 90s versions!
Oh My Gosh I've never been so early! My guess for next week is Lydia from Beetlejuice! I would LOVE to see you draw Winona Ryder she's one of my most absolute favorite actresses!
Winona Ryder is a QUEEN, re-watched Heathers not too long ago and I just adore her

Maybe in the next art project she ll going to pain Winona as Mina....red clue! ❤️🙏
I’m a really big fan of the Addams family and this makes me so happy 😭🤍
Oh my god, gorgeous beauty!!!🤩🤩🤩What an attractive lady!!!
You're so so so good!!!Please keep on uploading!!! love your arts!!!

Love this style! Very different but markedly your style. My favorite of your Halloween pieces so far.
The result is stunning ! I'm currently doing inktober, using dip pen and inks and this gives me plenty of indeas for my own works, so thank you ♥
THIS TURNED OUT SO PRETTY
also my guess is Lydia Deetz
It's so beautiful!! I love your videos so much ❤️❤️ thanks for inspiration all the time💜💜

Something about black and white and anything monochromatic, looks so awesome!

Yay! So excited it was Morticia. Carolyn Jones’ Morticia from the original is a true queen!
I love dip pens. Its so eazy for me to controle it. I find it better than a paint brush but somtimes i use a paint brush so. I love you,re drawing

Omg, your art just keeps on taking my breath away😊
I love it so much! Dip pens are great but they do need a really smooth paper. As for next week's piece, is it Lydia Deetz for Beetlejuice?

Thanks so much! Yes I have a few videos on my channel using inks for for colour 😊

Beetlejuice!!! BTW, this Morticia is stunning.

I liked the animated film. It is not a remake, the story is nice (typical love your weirdness story) but nicely done. I recommend it!

You can also put heat to your tape before you take it off to dry off the adhesive’s effectiveness. Also your artwork will dry quicker.
I am in love with this pice
Amazing piece. Love the contrast of the red.
Hmm, I think the next illustration is going to be Carrie. :3
Very cool!
the drawing is amazin.i have nothing else to say just amazing
Ohmygawshhhh you are almost at 100k!!!!!
