This is the same exact reel I ordered. I don't like using my freshwater reels at the ocean, so I had to get this. I also have the 5000 for surf and pier fishing. Great reels. They remind me of the Centron line. The 3000 & 4000 Kapstan SE's have the same specs, same line weights, drag, etc., but the difference is the 4000 has more line capacity and it's a little bit bigger. I like the solid build and the fact that there is hardly any play when you crank backwards or jiggle the handle sideways. That always bugged me with the old Shimanos. Kastking has earned my respect with their full line of rods and reels, man.
@@ReelMagicYT Greetings and thank you! Same to you my friend!! Thank you again for responding to my comment with good appreciation. I hope your day is always blessed by God and greetings from fellow anglers
I tried a Piscifun cast thatvwas on sale a while back for $50. It sucked. How are the kast king spincasters? Do they last long. This looks good also interested on the baitrunner switch.
@@ReelMagicYT Gonna get me the 5000 Kapstan SE for jetties and pier fishing. I have their Centron 500, which is a bargain-priced ultralight, has amazing performance and quality.
Heck yes! That’s awesome! Honestly the KAPSTAN model is super sturdy and durable. The entire reel just feels super solid. You’re gonna crush it with the 5k.
@@ReelMagicYT Thanks very much. That's a bit heavier than the equivalent Penn Conflict. I use a Stradic, which I love, but looking for something a little less pricey for my second rod. Weight is important to me as I tend to fish for a long period. Thanks again.
@@felixfelicis5574 so I got a 3k size Fuego and a 4k size Daiwa Saltist. This reel feels like a more sturdier Fuego in my opinion. And I think it’s mainly due to the material used on this reel. Def feels closer to a 3k than a 5k though.
There is no getting around the fact that this is a large, heavy reel for a 3000. I own shimano 3000 and 4000 Stradic and the kastking kapstan 3000 is bigger than the 4000 Stradic. As a matter of fact the kapstan makes my Penn Slammer IV 3500 seem small and light. On the positive side, the the Kapstan seems well built, tight and robust. The the weight isn't too much of an issue since I'm planning to use this reel for salwater jigging off the boat and kayak. Another positive attribute is that the line lay is superb. If you purchased the Kapstan for finesse presentation of small SPs, then you purchased the wrong reel. Hope my opinion makes sense.
@mikeo9170 I fully agree with you, I think they’re off with their size chart. It’s heavy and robust, I do think you get a great reel for the price though.
The box and packing materials are costly, and how the heck kastking makes a profit? 500 bucks shimano Twin Towers come with a plastic bag and a small cardboard inside a firmly box.

Bro been so busy with work, but I took the reel out fishing in Mexico. Got on some halibut, corvina, trigger fish with it. Reel is really nice, casted super well and the drag sounds good. I’m def keeping the reel in my arsenal, it also feels super sturdy. I’ll make a video in the near future. Going back to Mexico to fish the ocean again in a couple weeks.

Yo this reel is solid! I’ve fished in Mexico, USA & in Hawaii with it. No problem at all. This particular model is built super solid.
I don't know anything about Piscifun, but I have two KastKing reels. They are solidly built and dependable for me.

2500

Do you reckon this 3000 reel is closer to 5000 size reel in shimano and daiwa

The body is Aluminum and the gears are brass I believe.
