Hacking the Intex Easyset skimmer bracket to fit Ultra Frame pools

- Ugly buy easy hack to make the Intex Easy Set skimmer bracket fit dependably on the Intex Ultra Frame pools. My Ultra Frame pool came with the sand filter but not a skimmer. The skimmer from our old Easy Set will work but the bracket doesn't fit the Ultra Frame. Attempts to secure it with nylon zip-ties failed.
This hack simply involves carefully heating the plastic bracket then bending it to a new shape that can be reliable fastened to the Ultra Frame pool with nylon zip ties.
It's not pretty but it does seem solid and functions well. Try this at your own risk. The heating and bending was done in the work shop while holding the bracket in a vise. Hold the part in the bent position until the plastic hardens up (about a minute).
Just ran into the issue myself with a new pool install. The skimmer looked secure until I turned my back, and pop! It was sucking air. Just to think I was about to put the pump on a timer. Your solution was the simplest fix.

Someone forgot to put your metal frame bracket in the box. You only received the easy set hook up
The original clamp for the metal frame pool is pretty crappy. Mine won't stay in place and the clamp flexes and pops off. It's truly an engineering marvel at $20. You can also buy just the clamp on Amazon, but again, it's pretty crappy...
The skimmer should have come with brackets one for easy set and one for metal frame that’s how my pool has the skimmer on it
