IMDb Trivia. Peter Falk frequently added in unscripted improvisations such as asking for a pencil, searching for something in his pockets, asking a character to repeat something, rambling about irrelevant trivialities, or adding in a line about Mrs. Columbo. Falk did this to frustrate and annoy his fellow actor (usually the suspect) and generate a genuine "get to the point" moment.
"Don't worry sir, it's a local call."
😂
Absolutely the best plot of the whole series. One of the only times you don’t know what really happened in a Columbo episode. I’ve watched this so many times.
I just saw it to & your right this one was tricky. 👍
@@ericcrawford3453 "too" and "you're". Not trying to be a creep. Just helpful
I watched first the French version and it's as entraitaining as the English one
Hector sure is a classy limo driver
This is one of the better episodes from the later Columbos, the Lieutenant typing in Gotcha at the end is great!!! 👍👍🙂
I enjoy this episode every time I see it. Great looking over the top villain. The one minus is when the limo driver hears the shot in the alley, he runs out to check but never actually checks on his employer in the limo. Wouldn’t you open the door and make sure ? Otherwise terrific.
great episode indeed, it was the first a victim was alive throughout the episode only to be murdered at the end, columbo pulled the gotcha moment at the end he wasn't going to leave without a body and arrest.
I 👍 agree
"don't worry, sir, it's a local call"
extremely local, even
Terrific episode with the lieutenant columbo never giving up until he finally gets his suspect 👏 👍
One of my favourite episodes of season 9, best gotcha moments 😊
I agree 👍
That splash wouldn't have made its way to Colombo... 🤔
I always love seeing "GOTCHA" on a piece of paper that looks like it came from a label maker.
Awesome, love it . Keep the 12min Columbo 's coming, thanks. T.C.B 🤟
GOTCHA! It still gives me chills, classic.
This is the only episode I remember seeing when it was brand new. The whole body behind the wall thing was spooky.
"Do you have Ms. Hunter's basket?" " "Yes Don Hector!!!!! Right away!!!"
I finally noticed the Gotcha wasn't digital but a piece of paper glued onto the beeper
Ahhhh the 80's fashions and hairstyles.
GOTCHA!!! Negative Reaction and this episode were two of the best endings.
Fool me once. Won't fool me twice .
This was a great episode, I was shocked by the twist that Dian faked her own death!
Best of the re boot series, the plot and ending were superb
Columbo "retired in 1978 and came back in 1989!
This is great episode -- the twist at the end was excellent.
Peter Falk along with incredible writers lead to one fantastic entertainment experience
The writers would sometimes work days over ONE detail (such as the watch here) to keep the quality up.
Columbo is alive and well on youtube
My favourite épisode EVER of Columbo TV Show. So great episode
I think this episode was inspired by the Edgar Allen Poe story "The Cask Of Amontillado". If I remember it correctly the victim in that story was lured into a wine cellar then chained alive to the wall, and another brick wall was built around him. I think it was 50 years until his bones were found behind the wall.
These 80’s episodes have a totally different feel then the 70’s ones. And the stakes felt higher.
Ian Buchanan expression is always that of a person who snells sh.t
Thank you very much, just one more thing, the name is Columbo.
Columbo is absolutely THE BEST OF ALL I LOVE PEOPLE'S MIND'S AND THAT'S WHAT I CALL GOOD GRACIOUS LOOKING
Gruesome ending.
Entertaining viewing the special guest stars 😊
Classic episode
My favorite episode.
You would think they would gag a bit from the stench when Columbo unzipped the bag with the decomposing body in it... 🤣
Brilliant.
I hate villains that think they are cool, this one takes the biscuit
thats one i didnt know yet!
Good tv show. 👌🏼
Columbo it was Salamanca blood!!!? Salamanca money!!!
That garment bag would not have lasted forever! At some point, it would rot and the smells would get out.
Postcard from "Milan" eh? That postmark is from London, England, 1990, an evening post delivery (back when that was still a thing), and the stamp, a 29p stamp, even Columbo would have spotted that error... :P
The classiest killers were in the earlier episodes.
C'est le 2eme épisode que j'ai vu, il y a 2 Ans qd j'avais 13 ans, c mon préféré !!! 🤌👏👏
the nibbling duck
The "Gotcha" at the end is simply a word on a piece of paper, it's not a digital display. Look at the left side of the piece of paper, it's slightly bent. And on the right side, it's cut roughly.
At that time, you couldn't fit a pager into something like those wristbands. So, they made something up. Not unusual
This is not season 9 episode 1. That's murder a self portrait. It's episode 2.
Why am I thinking of Epstein and Gizlaine ?
Seems a seasoned crook wouldn't have left the pager on, or allowed Columbo to make the call using their phone...
The skeleton in the wardrobe...
"And the gon is yours"
GOTCHA
I think that's the first time I've seen, at the very end, Falk's glass and real eye focus on the murderer. Kinda eerie.
Don hector
columbo seems to know that he will kill her
I personally believe that Peter Falk is one of the greatest actors in motion picture history. I don’t believe that they can produce someone like him. I’m a massive fan of fiction and non fiction. I don’t think I’ve seen a actor like Peter Falk. From the great Marlo Brandon to the likes of Jack Nicholson, to the great Robert De Niro to the great John Travolta to the great Tom Cruise to the Brad Pitt to the great Nicolas Cage to the great Denzel Washington to Bruce Willis, to the great Leonardo DiCaprio. And the best of all, Al Pacino.
I’ve been waiting since 2011 since Peter Falks death to see a remake of Columbo, I don’t think I ever will. And I don’t think anybody can touch Peter Falk when it comes to Columbo.
@elitezafficobra2288
After seeing how badly the Pink Panther remake turned out, I hope you're right about Columbo. Unequalled.
Rest in peace, Peter Falk.
Kevin Spacey ... easily.
Angry columbo is best columbo
loves it, among the reboot episodes. I have, however, a question: what led Columbo to believe that Tina thought Sean was going to propose
marriage, to her?
The interview Sean gave to the press at the beginning of the episode
Alone for salmon is scotish she deserve her faith
Hector?
Funny how all the criminals give up when he corners them. In todays crime shows, they would never admit guilt, they would just hire an expensive attorney.
The likeness with Epstein cannot be casual.
Think it's meant to be Hugh Hefner
I dont like the later episodes. I dont like this one but the end gives me goose bumps.
Not a bad episode considering it’s a 90’s effort. I think they effectively deviated from the usual formula
The reverse murder with the same police procedural, that was Colombo entire formula!
@@vapensmoke yeah, but Colombo gets (publicly) outmanoeuvred at first, this wasn't typical
🎉😅
