I recently started working for an alarm company and my supervisor gave me a 6160 to connect to a customer system in place of a 6150 precisely because even simple programming on the 6150 is a nightmare. I thought I'd messed up my wiring first time I saw the "NO AC" alert on the 6150, turned a simple 40-minute job into a 2-hour long ordeal! I always set up my 6160 now at any site I go to that is using only 6150s.
I have some questions about my alarm system for my business, I have frameless glass doors and have run a hardwired surface mount contact to my Honeywell alarm system (20p). Now my question is I want to have 1-2 6160 keypads and a few 6150s if I buy one 6160 or 6150 rf then am I set or do I have to buy all of them rf? Also what do I wire in my keypads I wired the AC power source into terminals 1-2 now what type of wires do I use for attaching the keypads to the board? Also how will I use a 5828 wireless keypad In addition to my keypads?
Any help and reply would be greatly appreciated - I'm driving myself crazy trying to program one of the function keys (A,B,C,D) on the HW 6160 Keypad to "arm instant" as an easier method than opening the door and pressing # 7. Best Always.
Is there a way to set the green "display" backlight on the 6160/6160rf keypads to remain on, at full brightness, all of the time? I know the key's backlight stays on constantly, but only the display backlight lights up when you press a key. Also, if this were to be done, would it draw much more currant from the panel, by setting it that way versus leaving it alone? Thanks for the help.
Hello, I added a second voice keypad (6150v) to my system as address 18 (have two other) My main control is a 6160V. All functions are working, but the volume on the second key pad cannot be increased(#,0,2,3) some reason. is there a setting I'm missing or is the second voice keypad bad?

I have one like that on the wall. What does it do? Don’t need to have a subscription? Landline phone? Can I just cut it out from the wall? Thanks
