Lou if you select "system scan" instead of "Smart Scan" it will highlight in blue which modules are supported by the Topdon scanner model on that particular car you have connected.
Really liking your TOPDON videos. They help me out on the tool truck when customers ask about them.

I am really enjoying your videos. The video you did in the Airmatic system was fantastic - thank you for being so thorough in that tutorial. I think in that video you used the Xtool A30M. I need to update my scanner. Currently, drive and work on my own Mercedes (W203, W211) - I have been thinking about a TopDon scanner, the A30M looks intriguing, but also an MB Xentry system (off eBay, tricky perhaps if it will work right or not). Do you have any recommendations? I am a DIY, but I follow the factory service manuals and procedures when I fix my vehicles. Thanks again for making such great content, I subscribed a few days ago and looking forward to what you have to share and I appreciate you doing it and keeping the community going.

Xentry is a must have if you really want to thoroughly diagnose your mercedes. Its a scanner and diagnostic procedure must have. We cannot get diagnostic procedures from anywhere else.
But find what you like and trial and error is the way to do it.
Hey Lou, been watching a lot of your videos and I’m really impressed with your knowledge. I’ve been looking for a scanner to work on three Mercedes that I own. A 2011 E350 convertible, a 2003 CL 55 AMG and a 2001 Clk55 Amg. What would you recommend for an enthusiast DIY with a technical background? I need something bi-directional and possibly something that can do coding should I want to change instrument clusters or various modules. Thanks for your guidance and keep those videos coming. hey Lou, Launch or TopDon? I was leaning towards launch sense the have FCA gateway but topdon just added it too apparently. I am between the Launch USA x431 torque link and the topdon phoenix smart. I can get either unit for $1800. I can even drop that price down a few hundred more if I buy a Launch Global unit (pro3 ace) and get the smart link vci box later. figured I ask you first. thanks

Hi Lou, im having an issue with airmatic in a Mercedes Benz 218 CLS 63 2012. This car only has rear airmatic suspension. The thing is that the suspension works perfect driving in the city but once i get some highway with constant high speed rear height rise all the way up and get stuck in there, the only way to return it to normal working is turning off the engine and turning on again and inmediatly it automatically deflates and return to its notmal height.(Have no error codes, used scanner and all sensors values are fine, tried recalibration again and it completed but airmatic still keeps doing the same.
Sounds like valve block issue possibly. Best I can say.

I am from Canada and love your videos. Is Mercedes brand has quietness, quality and cloud smooth ridings? I am thinking of 2014 and up S class. Not sport person.looking for pure luxury where i dont want to feel any bumps or roughness of roads. May be video on that aspect will help or advise here is ok too. Is lexus LS better?
thank you, well, Mercedes totally went sport. the smooth ride of the pre 00's is no more. definitely a sport feeling to them, and quietness is gone too. once tires hit 10k miles you hear the road noise. its quite upsetting being a Mercedes tech and seeing the difference in what made a Mercedes a Mercedes, compared to what they are putting out now.

@@altafmotala8187 you are welcome. I cannot answer which car to go for. best I can say is find one that appeals to you aesthetically, then take it for a drive. the smaller the sidewall tire the rougher the ride. keep that in mind.

Lou recently I bought an Xtool 7 yet it doesn't do anything like the TopDon which is what $1100 or so. I liked the Can bus talking system it offers too. So 1 quick question: is my ABC module on Canbus?? I changed out 2 of them & with the Xtool still getting "no communication ". I'm trying to adjust the suspension. If I recall I'm getting 12 v both in/out but I'll have to double check that soon. Very thx
Oh man, so you have to be careful with suspension because not all aftermarket scanners can access the modules. So you may have replaced them for no reason.
All modules are on the can bus. There are almost no modules that are not . As there has to be a way for the scanner to communicate with them. So the issue is your scanner most likely. One trick I use is to not do a automatic vin scan. Try picking different years of the car and or try a different car that uses the same
Module. But the problem is most likely the scanners ability to communicate with the abc module. Also, I do not like that you are trying to “adjust the suspension “ that doesnt make sense to me and youre probably in for a very rough learning experience.
@@MasterTechLou Lou I'm not a beginner as the X7 LOWERS the car to proper ride height but overnight raises the car back up. But thx a ton for the insight as your rite --not all scanners communicate with modules. There in lies my problem. Thx again!!
On a 2021 s580 Benz will this let me adjust my suspension to lower the car ? I can buy these things on eBay their like links they trick the suspension also but manual gotta twist untill every wheel is matched by eye or the threads but jus wondering if this will b easier cause I need a tool like this for other jobs so thought I’d knock them both out wit this
@@MikeB-pu6md if you watch my air suspension video you will see that you cannot mess with level calibration. The manual adjustment links are the only way to go. You cannot trick the system with the scanner. The module knows what level the car should be at and will not proceed with the ride height adjustment until its within spec.
@@MasterTechLou So what you're saying Lou is the only way to adjust the suspension is with Star SDS? Thats what dealers use, but I think a higher end Autel would hold ABC.
So, as a man with a degree in electronics and network and telco I can tell you A TOP OL OGY is correct. 2 Topology is the design of the network, back bone, nodes, and communications structure. A synchronous to token ring to broadcast are all the ways node to node has been done in years. Auto adopted the LAN designs to call the CAN and then broken it down into bus speed like how a motherboard classifies the packets based on header packets and using effectively a gateway which is a traffic cop that keeps unneccessary noise ( packets from non primary nodes ) from using bandwidth.
