Hello, babies. Mother's love is unconditional. Truly beautiful bird family and the Nature. Have a good day. Love. Blessings to you and your families and everyone, always.🙏🤍❤️💛💚🤎🌷🌾🌻🌺🪴😘
I've never been able to find the nest, but there does seem to be at least one pair of cardinals living somewhere near my house (I've seen them arrive together on several occasions). During the summer we had a fledgling cardinal who visited the bird feeder regularly. That was really cute.
Here's an explaination on why the mom and dad eat the baby's poo: In order to survive, a bird must habe a clean nest so it is not vulnerable to a virus, and if you want to have a clean nest, you clean up after your "business". But baby birds can't clean up for themselves so the mom and dad eat the poop (which will not harm the bird) and bring it somewhere else, away from the nest. The poop wi'll be transported into the stomach of the parents from the baby and come out the parents behind at a location better and more sanitary than in the nest. **plz like this comment so every one can know before they scream about a cardinal's way of keeping tidy!*
they aren't exactly eating them. some species ingest them and poop them later away from the nest (no nutritional value), some store them in their crop and regurgitate them away from the nest, and some hold them in their beaks and drop them when they leave the nest. there are studies which suggest that the scent of feces attracts predators to nests, so parents disperse fecal sacs away from the nest in order to lower the chance that their nestlings get attacked by predators.
Villa Ph D Cool. I'd never seen a bird do what the Cardinals are doing. I've taken photos of the Common Yellow Throat and Chicadees removing the fecal sac, but they never swallowed it, just kept it in the beak and flew away with it. So, I was curious.
these beautiful birds keep their nests extremely clean...wow.some birds are dirty birds..they could learn alot from this couple they really love their babies.absolutly adorable...clean house is a godly house..thank you Jesus Yashua you are truely the way and the truth !!!! repent ..forgive all !!! ask him into your geart today...YHWH
Most times with birds of that size they're not actually eating the poop but gathering it to take it away from the nest. I'm not sure about Northern Cardinals but with a lot of birds this size that's the case. I hope this helped.
With Cardinals, the father is just as engaged with the feeding and care of the young as the mother is. He is also a loving, devoted partner to the Mrs., and mates for life.
Yes, and i witnessed something else not seen in this video. Before Mrs. Cardinal lay eggs, Mr. Cardinal feeds her wherever they fly together, he literally puts food in her beak when they find something and she opens her beak to accept the food he finds. Unbelievable.
This sight is beautiful to me, just a few months ago cardinals built a nest on my backyard tree, and they had eggs, now come to feed the babies every 5 minutes, so cute!
It's so cute and funny how the babies literally shake with excitement when mom and dad show up with food. You just see these little heads and open mouths shaking so hard because they know it's mom and dad with snacks for them! LOLOL
We just had 3 baby cardinals hatch in a bush right next to our patio and they look about the same size. It is so incredible to watch the male and female cardinals work all day to feed their chick's. It's quite adorable.
Not all birds. Sadly. Kinda like humans. What I find most fascinating is the birds who mate for LIFE, this death do them part. Wow. If you really want to learn about birds, get the Amazon series, BBC - David Attenborough series, "All About Birds." It is the Best.
@Doug Kirk what about when a company decides to cut down an entire section of trees/forest to build roads and buildings? Any nests are destroyed in the process.
@@ultraspinalki11 You do know that doing so requires months, maybe years of planning and consideration right? Cities don't expand willy-nilly. Environmental concerns are often taken into consideration. Plus farming is way more harmful to the environment then building roads and buildings. Most passerine birds do eat nestlings' poo during first days, chicks' intestine is not yet fully developed its flora, so the poo is still, well..., edible cause only part of it (mostly proteins) is actually digested by the chick in their stomach. And most of the birds do not have e.coli in their intestine at all, so generally speaking, 80% of bird's poo is sterile and odor-neutral until gets rotten by bacteria AFTER being disposed, e.g. potentially edible by other mammals/birds. Parrots often eat their own's poo as vitamin D3 source... Contrary, finches (Estrildidae) such as Zebras or Gouldians neither eat the poo of their chicks nor scrap it to keep the nest clean...
