Relistening in 12/2024. As we dance on the edge of WW3, my only son turns 18. My prayer remains that God will "spare the children" of this world from the wickedness of our generation.
AD -- one of the great bands ever --"Christian" or "secular". Thank you, Kerry Livgren for putting together this bunch of musicians and bringing the rest of us artistically and spiritually excellent music.
I saw AD live in Dallas on this tour, it was an emotional experience, underrated band. I ran into Matthew Ward in line for the show, awesome. I'm still listening at 55.....
The first time I heard this song was when I saw AD perform live in a small High School Auditorium in Franklin Pa (north of Pittsburgh), 1985..... It was a very moving moment for myself and the rest of the audience as well......... WOW......!!!!
It was Mike Gleason who penned this that's on vocals-- guitarist KERRY LIVGREN and bassist DAVE HOPE are from KANSAS, John Elefante former Kansas vocalist became producer for the band PETRA
This song is very fitting to NOW! You kidding me?' Praise God, save the innocent children, Gods children. Woe to all those who serve the devil and abuse kill and sacrifice Gods children for demonic gain and false power in the Occult world. This has been around since the days of Babylon and continue Now. Pray against these abominations that those who practice this are thwarted and judged instantly! Thank you Jesus Save the children!
@ Thomas Drake In addition to Warren Ham, who toured with Kansas during the Vinyl Confessions Tour, Michael Gleason also toured with Kansas on the Drastic Measures tour.
I sound like a broken record but the truth is here for all to hear. And that is that they just don't write them like they use to. I would have given anything to see these guys live .mmmmmm. Sigh.
lead singer was never with Kansas. Kerry LIvgren was and he is a guitarist/keyboardist and writer. Warren Ham toured with Kansas from time to time to do special instruments and backup vocals and Dave Hope was a bassist for Kansas!
Other than myself does anyone remember when Tapes had to be purchased the day of their release before some do badder killjoy had them pulled because of "Controversial" artwork? To Hell with The Devil anyone?
That the "grown ups" of this world often ignore the consequences of their behavior. As a result, children are left to pay for the sins and lusts of the adults who seem to play, but never have to pay. The speaker is begging the Creator to "save the children" from the "games" played by their parents. Both the unborn and the born often are forced to "be the sacrifice" for the things done at the parent's whims. At least that is what I understand it to be about.
@bluehawk6369 I hate to be blunt, but if you think "Gleason sounds remarkably like Steve Walsh", you've got to be tone deaf. Other than both of them being able to hit "high notes", I don't think their voices sound anything alike. Until his voice begin to falter in the 1990's, Walsh was one of the greatest rock n' roll singers to have ever graced the planet. Gleason is good, but he pales in comparison to Walsh.
MrCamelneck one thing you will never replace. The Anointing of Gods Spirit on the man and music. We all have opinions, that's ok. I've been on both sides and the Spirit gives life to the one that serves Him. I don't recall Walsh ever putting God in his music....

Can't listen to this song without it tearing me up... or, my tearing up.
Powerful lyrics & music.
this message of AD is more powerful today then at any point in american history.
This song should be going viral, no better message for society today.
Powerful song about a stark reality in our world. Someone has to speak up for these unfortunate children. There will be justice.....one day.
"Soon, in the twinkling of an eye."
I long for christian music to return to this
Me too!
