I find it funny how Homer was so angry about having to pay the hospital he cut their power to kill dozens of patients. He then carries on his life like that somehow got rid of his debt.
The only time I laughed watching season 34 was when something hit a very handsome man turning him into Hans Moleman. Five seconds out of twelve episodes.
Everything is coming up Homer. He got to spend the night on the couch, just saved half a million dollars, will be home in time for pork chop night , and still have time for a round or two of Mr Plow with Bart.
It's not Homer's fault. He can't take other people's money. He can't print his own money. He has to "work" for money. How can anyone survive under those conditions?
I feel like if this plotline was 2 minutes long, it wouldn't had changed much. However, I'm glad to see several reoccurring clips especially Dr. Nick's "what the hell is that?"
Rather than murder, Homer should have listened to his friend Carl. By using crowd funding, lots of people could've given him small amounts of money to help his situation.

Awesome, an adaptation of one of your classic comics. This was quite the surprise, Dr. Hibbert rarely is the focus in these. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought Homer would loan Marge to Hibbert to be part of his show as payment, good to see that instead Homer is a nice husband here.

I love all the extra jokes in this! The hospital's bait-and-switch where Dr. Hibbert meets the patients but Dr. Nick does the actual surgery; Hibbert sending a hand-written note instead of a normal bill like he's personally enjoying this; all of it! I'd honestly watch a whole show about this doctor who loves yanking his patients' chain and is so damn jolly about it.

Here I was expecting Homer to pimp out Bart (and possibly Marge) or sell him to Hibbert. Homer's electrical grid cutting seems oddly topical concerning recent events.
Fun fact: there was originally supposed to be a Simpsons episode called "Homer vs. Dr. Hibbert", but the writers rejected it because it dealt with racism and they felt it would be too preachy (these days, it'd be one of their "best" episodes). I'd like to imagine that this is that scrapped episode. Another scrapped episode they did was one where the Michael Jackson mental patient now thinks he's Prince and wants everyone in town to be free and open with their sexuality. I can't imagine how Dark Simpsons would twist that if the canon episode was made.
I actually thought Dr. Hibbert was gonna kill Homer but the end caught me off guard. By the way, this was only realistic in the US, in Europe Homer would've got his operation and only a very affordable hospital bill in worst case scenario. Great video!
The fact Homer was able to run all the way from the hospital back to his house after recovering from a spinal surgery is quite impressive.
