Those things REALLY stood out and definitely sparked my interest bringing me to this talk. I couldn't believe that supersized Pike at the end. For someone who's a hardcore survivalist you're well spoken too with an unusual journey. Hope you might do something with Baer Grylls. PS, so good to hear you share about the Armenian bkgrnd and heritage. More people need to know about the Armenian holocaust.

Bro I have a great idea for you pitch a few broadcasters a show where you take a few city folk out and help them survive over a week maybe as a contest where they get pts for kills for food shelter etc it would really show how hard it is out there you should have your own show and make at least 500k a season like bear gryles your perfect for the role man

Hands down my favorite contestant ever. You are the embodiment of badass! Honestly, it would be so awesome if you had your own show where you’re put into different survival situations.
The only win that brought me to tears. The reason? The connection you and your wife have. In all the seasons I’ve watched, you two are the only ones that have shown such a deep love. She was so happy and excited to see you. And you can tell that it was genuine. She was so excited that you killed a moose and wolverine. It just touched my heart to see her so supportive and to see you two so in love.

Looking back, I wish they had put you on Season 7 instead because you could've EASILY lasted 100 days (and more) out there. Also, you totally deserve the 1 million! I wonder if they'll ever have a season with all the winners only. That would be so damn cool.

Hey Jordan! Well done on your Alone success. I was absolutely engrossed by the series. As soon as I learned from you about your time with the Siberian nomads I realised you had a very strong chance of winning. Book knowledge only gets you so far. You had lived it.
My grandfather was a 10 year old Polish refugee and was shipped to Siberia by the Russians. He learned to fish and hunt to support his mother and sister. He had many hardship stories. Eventually he was part of the Poles who’s fathers were released by Stalin from the Gulags and evacuated them to Uganda to wait out the war. He was the best man I have ever known. I think our souls need to be forged in the crucible of the wild. We need time like you say to think about our issues. I would be really interested to hear some of you thoughts you had when problem solving the cultural issues we had around the time you went on the show, 2020 has become a time of cultural insanity.
Have you any plans to write any essays or even a book with the Alone experience as a backdrop? Your book would be so much more with everything you contemplated added as well as your experience. It certainly would not be your run of the mill survival guide. I wish you all the success and happiness for the future for you and your family. I really respect your attitude, clean language, belief and fortitude. A role model for modern men a link back to our ancestors. All the best!

Just watched season 6 now. Looking at the videos you’ve done after the show (such as this one) it’s clear there is a difference between our impression of your situation (as viewers) versus your real situation at the end of the show and this is clearly down to the editing. You were in a much better situation than what we could perceive. But I guess for the producers it made sense to edit it that way to keep up viewer’s interest. Even with the editing it was clear you were the strongest contender, so if they had shown how far ahead and better off you really were, there would have been no dramatic tension at all for the end. Anyway thanks for these videos and belated congrats on your well deserved win 😀

Congratulations Jordan! After watching the show, I’m certain all your fellow “Alone” cast mates realize they were only competing for 2nd place.
You’re the only person in 6 seasons who were thriving and could probably make it there for at least a year. Everyone else were just slowly starving to death. Living with the Evenki was perfect training for “Alone”
Another amazing fact about you is that you’re so grounded and have such a strong mind and willpower. I’m certain your faith had a lot to do with this.

Just finished all of alone season 6, you as well as the other participants have excellent outdoor skills, as well as you having an amazing outlook an attitude on life. It was really cool to see a lot of the things I grew up learning while becoming an Eagle scout put to actual real life use. Making a net out of paracord was so legit. Many could learn from your skills! Great job!

Im doing my last year of school and i took classical studies and i dont even know why , i thought it was only a subject to become a teacher or whatever i wished i never took it. But after you said how it teaches you about life i found it even more valuable than english, its really insane how much you can learn by past humans/historians/conquerors/civilizations, and how it can influence your life and mindset in way you never knew otherwise.

Like you, I have been in harm’s way and in great danger often, partly because of how I chose to recreate and earn a living. God was with me each time and watched over me. He tells you what to do even though you don’t know why at the time. Angels exist. I am humbled and in awe of that force. It sounds nuts but it isn’t. Hats are off to you for your authenticity and humility.

I have some questions if you get the chance to answer! Loved watching you on the show.
    1. Do you think you would have eaten sustainably with the rest of your food if you didn't catch the moose? (looked like you had plenty of other meat anyway)
    2. How much meat is on a wolverine? Like is it a good food source worth hunting? (despite the musky taste)
    3. Are there any sources of sustainable carbohydrates out there which you looked for?
    4. Didn't see too much on the shelters in the show - what did you take into account when you built yours?
    5. How competitive are you?
    Thanks for making this video!!

    • @hobojordo
      @hobojordo  4 роки тому +10

www.jordanjonas.com/blog if you scroll down I have my shelter description/drawings etc...
Question one is a good question...I was catching lots of fish once I figured the fishing out, so I may of been able to maintain, but it would of been much more difficult/iffy. I would of also kept trying for large game the whole time, because it would be quite hard to sustain without it, though I did have looots of other meat and would of had plenty of food to be full, I'm not sure if it would of been sustainable with fat ... Given just the amounts of other things I had I think I would of still made 80-90 days, but I would of used more of my body's reserves than I did. And if fat was low I would of tried to supplement more carbs, but those were only available in berries and reindeer licen both of which I collected alot of just to have some carbs everyday.
The wolverine has a fair amount of meat, not alot of fat. So in my case it wasn't worth hunting for food, as I had tons of protein .. but in general it would be more worth going after larger animals, and aside from incredible fishing, that's probably your only chance at long term sustainability calorically..

I just finished season 6 and i m so happy you won.....you really deserved it!!!! Someone purposely put on weight thinking it would give them a leg up but it didn't..You went in as the thinnest which could have put you at a major disadvantage but your skillset shows people thats what is most important. You were the most consistent with your hunting, fishing, trapping, etc., and all your.survival skills. I saw someone else in the comments enjoyed watching you live & survive there for the same reasons as myself. It really was your authenticity, tenacity, humor, positive attitude, and survival skills that made you so deserving to win!! You killed.it out there👊

Haven't watched any TV shows in several years, I've been building my house in the forest, and then a well, and septic, and then a solar system, and several cabins on my forest property that I rent out on AIRBNB and Hipcamp..Just recently had the time to start to watch some stuff, that wasn't "HOW TO," to do something or the other..But glad I found "Alone" and your season..You should be very proud, and not just because of winning, but because of how you lived your life..There is no way to fake character, and being a good person, that you genuinely display..And you received the Karma you deserve..Good Luck brother..

@@hobojordo I would say a few things after watching this..First, I've been going on trips in northern Canada for decades, mostly portage/river fishing canoe trips with two other guys, we never took food with us, we did all have 870's, 12 gauges, for ducks ,geese, beaver and protection and we've been forced out of the bush many times from striking out and starving, and ate like kings on other trips..Experience is certainly required for attempting these expeditions, but is no guarantee of success...The float plane trips we always brought food, because there was no way out until your scheduled float plane day..Luck always plays a factor in the bush..2nd I have advanced degrees in biology and chemistry, worked for some interesting international organizations, but it didn't take long to become disgusted and understand how vulnerable our civilization really is..But then again, every human civilization to ever exist, has been a losing race, to discover remedies for the predicaments that they produce, bar none..Personally I think our world wide civilization will collapse in the next 2 decades, for a variety of reasons..The laws of nature, the laws of thermodynamics and the laws that govern complex systems are final and non negotiable. I've tried to be a Christian many times, I wish it could work for me..When I look at history, I see civilizations rise, their gods rise with them, when those civilizations die, like every civilization does, their gods die with them..I see gods as human constructs that serve very human needs..Of the millions of gods that have existed, that statement has to be a fact for all of them, except maybe one, but the odds that that's the case is pretty much zero..But, I do envy those who make it work, religion works miracles for human psychology, and can produce very good people..And it can be a difference among people that produces the very worst atrocities..I don't see us discovering remedies for nuclear war, mass extinction, or an environment that is changing hundreds of times faster than it's inhabitants can adapt..My guess would be that by weight, we have now killed 99% of the wild mammals, fish, birds, etc., that existed just a few thousand years ago..And when this civilization collapses, we will kill the rest..Beyond any doubt..For 400 hundred years, the biggest economic opportunity in North America was fur trading, and millions of people were involved..Now you will struggle to live off of nature almost everywhere..
