Yea but at least he had tons of character and was super memorable! I guess they made him a bit weaker in case Naboris was the first Divine Beast some people did and they didn't have many hearts. That's the sacrifice that comes with open world games.

Child-looking professor girl who fixes your Camera Rune at her lab, also the one that upgrades a few of your runes if you have the ancient parts to do it.
I like the concept of bosses that are not killing you out of malice; they are just challenging you and they aren’t really evil. I liked when they used this concept in Wind Waker too
AG3NT Hipp0 there is an ancient legend among the zora in breath of the wild where a zora princess married a hylian, so mipha felt sure it would work out despite the species differences. Zora aren't animals in the figurative sense, (bevause in the literal sense, humans are animals), they're a race of sentient beings like hylians. Also, because of how the fanbase reacts, that's how you determine wether or not it is legit?
If you read Mipha's diary and talk to Sidon afterwards you'll learn the reasoning behind her "request" to Zelda and Daruk. And then the picture scoot will make sense.
I am actually happy they at least made ONE of the Monks a boss fight. And we also become aware of the fact that these long lived anorexic acolytes who have obeyed the will the Goddess in silent ministering for a long awaited Hero are seasoned badasses in their own right, proficient in both physical combat AND magical techniques and spells. Aside from this one, the rest were only instructed to test Link's ability to handle adventuring through increasingly complex puzzles. So, what is your impression of this guy?
1aundulxaldin This makes me question why couldn't they fight ganon? The fact you don't need the master sword to beat ganon makes him fair game to anyone else that goes through enough rigorous training. Heck this guy can literally destroy the blights and kohga. Seeing this actually makes me want to see impa in action.
Well, they ARE Monks. My idea was always that their place is to only offer Puzzle Challenges to Link to test his fortitude and resourcefulness. They guide and offer wisdom. That is what Monks are usually about. And also, maybe Ganon is too much for even them to handle? Ganon is the reincarnation of Demise, the absolute source of evil and the opposite of Hylia. Evil that terrifying and powerful would just shrug these guys like they were nothing. (Also, he has an entire Century under his belt of corrupting the Kingdom of Hylia.) Link is always destined to be the Hero who has to confront Ganon every time he shows his ugly mug. And it HAS to be Link in the end since His and Zelda's bloodlines were cursed to continually have to face Ganon over and over again.
Dapperblook Animations No but you need the light arrows and those guys are 10000 years old so they must have at least participated to the first fight against Calamity Ganon.
Great way to tell who the real monk is during the clone section of the battle is to quickly use the camera rune. Only the real one has an outline. You can also counter giant monk two ways: using magnet on a spike ball and holding it up to him while he uses lightning, and shield countering the laser beam attack. I love this boss, such a great climax to the game.
Most of the time the real monk is up in the air shooting the arrows. But you can also utilize Urbosa's Fury for that part of his attack. All three will send him straight into Mega Ant Man mode.
the boss was ok, really good add to the game, but holy shit this kind of memories coming back to link, just made more sad the death of the champions and even more sad the idea of everything and everyone failed miserably =V
Slver noone can ever plan for your enemy being able to take over your weapons and turn them against you. Just something no one thought of for a second. Would be nice to get more history on the lost sheikah tech.
Luke Brinkerhoff The yaga clan are traitor from the sheikah clan it kind of normal that hey use the same move that the yiga clan use. just think it like jedi and sith.
Basically the difficulty and creativity that the Calamity Ganon fight should have had. This game does nothing but overly-prepare you for a demanding final boss and then you get to Ganon and he's a one-phase (you can't even count Beast Ganon as a real fight) push over. This boss is great and I'm thankful we got it, but it and the additional dlc content only serve to further show how terrible and anti-climatic of a final boss Calamity Ganon is.
aleckermit yeah. While this is now my favorite zelda title in the franchise, and well deserving of its multiple game of the year awards, ganon was REALLY dissapointing.
I loved this fight, to be able to see what a true sheikah is capable of. Consider this: Master Kohga was (rip) an extremely cocky, comical and laid back leader, and probably taught his pupils in such manner. But also keep in mind that Master Kohga had to have learned his moves from a true sheikah who respected discipline, dedication, and perseverance. Had Master Kohga trained his soliders in even a somewhat similar fashion, Link would be dead within the first five minutes of his awakening. Let's not forget the fact that, yes--this Monk is by FAR much stronger than any of the yiga; this man is OVER 10,000 YEARS OLD. Seeing what an army of heavily trained sheikah guards are capable of must being utterly horrifying. It doesn't really matter whether you had trouble with this or not. Bottom line, he's much older and more frail than Link; and he stopped fighting not because he was close to death, but rather because he was getting tired. You got your ass handed to you.
I find it really interesting how Monk Maz Koshia uses magic identical to Master Kohga and the Yiga Clan. I really like that connection between the Yiga Clan and the Sheikah, who, despite separating many many years ago, still retain many of the same crafts that they once shared. It shows that the Yiga Clan is much more organized than a bunch of buffoons in red Morph suits, retaining their magical practices like this.
Was anyone else freaking out the first time they saw him move? I mean all the other monks never moved, I may have even assumed they were dead and just their spirits with left behind. But then this guy suddenly clinches his fist and I'm just sitting there like "It's alive!"
This might honestly be in my top 3 favourite Zelda bosses. It's amazing. So much variety, and it's quite an endurance fight since it goes on for a while. This dungeon was really good overall.
Yeah, that monk is badass. When I lost, I didn't show my furious, I was impressed by his kickass skills. 10,100 years old, waiting for Link to coming in then finally moving and yanking the shit out of Link.
I absolutely love this tense and brilliant music, not only does it draw on a bunch of music we've heard before, but it's also so tense and thrilling. And the groaning is creepy and makes it five times better. Plus the boss battle is amazing. Do more of this Nintendo!
I was like : "Does this count as an happy ending ? Because the 4 champions ( And one of them is best waifu) are dead." Looks like the game wanted to gave you a smile especially when link hang the photo on the wall. But for me i almost cried.
To be honest, the only difficult part of this quest in master mode was Windblight and Waterblight Ganon. Everything else was easy, it all depends on what you have collected and prepared BEFORE the fights. The second visit to the blights are difficult because your inventory is regulated. But now that I've figured out the techniques, they aren't that difficult.
Fireblight is a pushover since the Boulder Breaker is OP. Thunderblight is kinda iffy because you get no arrows. You can literally bullet time the shit out of Windblight, so I didn't find him difficult. Waterblight is difficult because you have to make every arrow count and can't miss a shot (which is somewhat stupid, since when you jump off a Cryonis block, Link will attempt to dive into the water instead of pulling his bow) , or else he will heal out of range. If you're out of arrows against Waterblight, you pretty much have to count on Urbosa's Fury.
Hy headcanon is that the monks all got to design their own shrines, and when they were all debating what to put in their shrines, Maz Koshia was quietly sitting in the corner, laughing to himself.
One Eco Yeah since day 1 I wwas expecting a yiga trap in a shrine with a redead like enemy in a final shrine. I was expecting the ol speech and teleportation out until this dude started to twitch, then I said FINALLY!
When he got up I was shook. I was not expecting that at all. This is exactly what Ganon should’ve been! I think the creators now realize their mistakes and gave us this beautiful boss fight. I would’ve been okay with a few things being taken out for the Ganon boss fight to be this good!
I’m getting the DLC tomorrow, gotta complete Trial Of The Sword and get the clothing and stuff. I’m a PRO PRO. No joking, have 3 accounts that I have mastered the hole game.
"I offer you this final trial..." *fingers twitch, Maz Koshia suddenly reanimates and stands up* "HOLY SHIT, DID HE JUST-" *Maz Koshia stands there menacingly* "You want a bad time, Old Timer-" *music starts up, le spongebob_smirk.jpg* HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, OLD MAN?!!!!!
This guy is trickier to fight than Ganon, which is actually really funny. I love the fact you get to fight one of these things - they're eerie statues all throughout the game, bringing one in as a surprise boss is sick. And the scene where he began to move was hype af holy shit, with the music kicking in.
Vayx all i had were crappy heavy weapons he wouldn’t sit still for. he ran me out of food, arrows, bows, shields, and weapons. i had an ice greatsword left after the end of it with like 5 uses leftover and had to purchase another hylian shield AND re-craft the champion weapons
When I fought him, I had a awesome atmospheric Rainstorm going on, that lasted the entire time I fought him, and began to clear up the moment I finished the fight.
I remember when I first got to that cutscene with him, I was like "There has to be a boss, right? Just like the other Divine Beasts. But this one wasn't touched by Ganon, so what will it be?" I saw the monk there, and I thought "Uhhhhhhhh... hello?" And when it starts to pan over him, and his finger moved, I about lost my shit, and even more so when he got up and announced his trial. Seriously, what a twist!
Imagine how much easier Link's life would have been if all the fucking monks had just given him the power he needed instead of throwing all these bs shrines at him lol, then theyre like "lets legit try to kill the one person who can save Hyrule"
This honestly might be my favorite boss battle in the game. It honestly feels like you’re in a friendly battle with a close mentor. There’s something about it that’s so fulfilling. Music is great too.
Syb Vaantje Try master mode Ganon whit only the master sword, no shields or bow, before divine beasts. It's a challenge that makes calamity the hardest boss in the game again. Of course I put only the champion garb, hylian pants and master sword to make it more accurate. Also the challenge is that if the master sword breaks before you win, you have to restart. The point is to beat his regeneration before the master sword breaks.
Squeaky Skittle Squad Actually, the 4 blight's and the full health master mode calamity Ganon wear up the entire master sword if you don't keep consistent damage. I am telling you because I tried it a bunch of times out of boredom, and found out that if calamity heals himself about 4 times(which is pretty dam easy for him) the master sword will break before you take down whatever left of his life. Eat a attack boost or the challenge is near impossible.
As soon as that hand moved I got HYPED AS HELL!
To me it was more like an "OH FUCK!" moment.
Its kinda like gehrman from bloodborne
Everybody gangsta till the old man in a wheelchair stands up
I think my heart skipped a beat
That is true imagine if one the Shrine things just moved and broke out of its Cube then bam you teleport

YatzSliversword purah?
Child-looking professor girl who fixes your Camera Rune at her lab, also the one that upgrades a few of your runes if you have the ancient parts to do it.
Oneirohero how does she live that long?
I like the concept of bosses that are not killing you out of malice; they are just challenging you and they aren’t really evil. I liked when they used this concept in Wind Waker too
Hylia goddess really wants Link dead
15:15 MIPHA SCOOTING OVER TO LINK IS SO CUTE
AG3NT Hipp0 Because she has a crush on him but is shy about letting him know.
She just waddled and it was so cute
AG3NT Hipp0 so?
This guy is yiga archer, yiga blade master, thunderblight ganon, master Kohga, hinox, guardian
Ikr omg!
It’s basically the fusion of all the enemies on the game
1aundulxaldin That's fair I'll admit. Plus who knows what other stuff the possible future DLC will reveal.
Ghirahim le fabuleux That sounds possible maybe they'll explore this.
I flipped my shit when I saw this man move on my screen
OH DAMMIT I FORGOT TO PHOTOGRAPH HIM.
You can rematch him.
You can buy the picture in the Hateno lab if you prefer
Only if you didn't finish the compendium before the DLC though. The prompt to buy pictures does not reappear if it's gone already. Probably a bug.
MrTrashTag of course, it’s just another option
No, you can't
Am I the only one who laughed when he fell
Yep, great video...but then again, everyone is different. Just shows even the "pros" make mistakes all the time.
Lol that was great XD
I face palmed...
No.
Yeah it was awesome
Anybody else enjoy this more than ganon?
Great way to tell who the real monk is during the clone section of the battle is to quickly use the camera rune. Only the real one has an outline.
You can also counter giant monk two ways: using magnet on a spike ball and holding it up to him while he uses lightning, and shield countering the laser beam attack.
I love this boss, such a great climax to the game.
Most of the time the real monk is up in the air shooting the arrows. But you can also utilize Urbosa's Fury for that part of his attack. All three will send him straight into Mega Ant Man mode.
Atmic You can also stasis the balls back towards him.
Atmic using revalis gale to get slow mo bow then shooting him in the eye twice works really well
You can also set down a banana.
This boss is like the Yiga leader, Thunderblight, and a Hinox all rolled into one
the boss was ok, really good add to the game, but holy shit this kind of memories coming back to link, just made more sad the death of the champions and even more sad the idea of everything and everyone failed miserably =V
Slver noone can ever plan for your enemy being able to take over your weapons and turn them against you. Just something no one thought of for a second. Would be nice to get more history on the lost sheikah tech.
This is dope as hell
Why? I don't think so, but it's my opinion
But I don't understand why you consider that as trash, I find it very entertaining
Shiva Mungur who said it was trash?
Shiva Mungur Sir, in this modern age, the word _"Dope"_ means cool
Have you faced him without divine beasts or the master sword? He’s impossible.
Oh bullshit! The final battle was perfect and a nice tidy end. We just stopped him BEFORE he was full power.
Honestly, I had much more trouble and fun with this boss than Calamity Ganon and Dark Beast Ganon combined.
Also, can we get a goddamn video just for the music? It's fucking awesome.
wow nice the true final boss *edited* *first*
.
Why do you excuse yourself for editing. Ppl should know you might've just left something out
well for days now i notice people might not know when they have edited on a comment so i feel like it’s something to tell them for their own curiosity
I loved this fight, to be able to see what a true sheikah is capable of. Consider this:
Master Kohga was (rip) an extremely cocky, comical and laid back leader, and probably taught his pupils in such manner.
It's got a pretty dope battle theme, too.
This fight was epic. AND THAT BATTLE MUSIC!
the catchiest music in the whole game.
I Can't Think of a Good Name The game doesn't have allot of music, but when music plays it's good
Btw yes I fucking need that theme
Doesn’t have a lot of music?! Are you crazy?! Look up breath of the wild ost. There’s literally like 250 songs
But then this guy suddenly clinches his fist and I'm just sitting there like "It's alive!"
there is a theory were the sheikah monks are redeads.
This might honestly be in my top 3 favourite Zelda bosses. It's amazing. So much variety, and it's quite an endurance fight since it goes on for a while. This dungeon was really good overall.
It can create true to life images, WOAH, ITS CALLED
A PICTURE
Ben Geraghty-Shewan I mean they didn't have cameras so they wouldn't really know what to call it would they?
Mr. R only being sarcastic
Any shrine monk: In the name of Godness Hylia I bestow you this Spirit Orb
Maz Koshia: Damn bro you good, take this byke my man.
Way better than Ganon.
TMadara yes it is
PFP works too well
Yeah, that monk is badass.
15:44 Anybody else got a little teary eyed?
I was kinda laughing at when Daruk pushed them together, does that count?
Yeah i started crying a bit
Suprise buttsechs going on.
I wasn't crying, I just had something in my eye
It's called tears ; - ;
I was like : "Does this count as an happy ending ? Because the 4 champions ( And one of them is best waifu) are dead." Looks like the game wanted to gave you a smile especially when link hang the photo on the wall. But for me i almost cried.
2:54 It was at this moment that Link knew, He fucked up
Alex YT Your profile pic sums up that moment well lol
That ending cutscene makes me really want to see more of the champions interacting, be it a show or game, just anything at this point.
MAZ KOSHIA FOR HYRULE WARRIORS 2!
Ixbran yep
Bah better a GIANT CUCCO.
Someone pick up the phone because this guy just fucking called it
It happened bois
Even Ganon is nothing compared to this monk
Indeed, they should've sent this old dude to fight him.
annoying person 🔜j
If Link can beat the holy hell out of Ganon with mops, surely Maz could bypass the conservation of matter and remove Ganon from existence.
Where was this monk when Ganon took over?
Sitting on his butt in the Shrine of Resurrection.
14:50 I’m hearing Lissa from Fire Emblem Awakening in the background.
Richard Briesch Ikr?! Me too!! Lol I think that's Purah. Not sure...but yeah they're the same voice actor!
Oh my freaking god you're right
damn, now I've got Lissa stuck in my head XD
I thought you were fighting a naked guy for a second
Gamer United For all intents and purposes, he is. Nothing but a hat, mask, bracelets and threadbare pants.
i did this in master mode, I NEVER WILL DO IT AGAIN!
I will be!
Y'know, after the trial of the sword. Which is fucking bullshit, so that's gonna be a bit.
To be honest, the only difficult part of this quest in master mode was Windblight and Waterblight Ganon. Everything else was easy, it all depends on what you have collected and prepared BEFORE the fights. The second visit to the blights are difficult because your inventory is regulated. But now that I've figured out the techniques, they aren't that difficult.
somehow i defeated him again. it is quite a fun fight
If you're out of arrows against Waterblight, you pretty much have to count on Urbosa's Fury.
you can also stasis his ice blocks he fires and use it to fire it back at him, found out after like a million tries against it
Hy headcanon is that the monks all got to design their own shrines, and when they were all debating what to put in their shrines, Maz Koshia was quietly sitting in the corner, laughing to himself.
After this, it's a shame that you cannot fight the other Sheikah Monks x'D
One Eco I saw people saying that you can fight him again after a bloodmoon but I didn't try, you can test it if you want.
Too bad you can't fight all the other monks at the same time.
One Eco Yeah since day 1 I wwas expecting a yiga trap in a shrine with a redead like enemy in a final shrine. I was expecting the ol speech and teleportation out until this dude started to twitch, then I said FINALLY!
this monk has been sitting down for 10,000 years and he doesnt even stretch a bit when he stands up, or even crack his bone a tiny bit. true master
The monk suddenly moving was the greatest thing in the whole game.
The ending picture was too cute... then comes the sepia filter meaning "They're all dead"
EtherFoxMIDI except for zelda ofcourse
When he got up I was shook. I was not expecting that at all. This is exactly what Ganon should’ve been! I think the creators now realize their mistakes and gave us this beautiful boss fight. I would’ve been okay with a few things being taken out for the Ganon boss fight to be this good!
"May the goddess hylia smile upon you..."
"Because I won't."
You know a boss is good when you feel excited to fight it
Daruk: Group hug!
Revali: *_JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE F-_*
Game: In the name of the Goddess Hylia...
Me: it moved. *THE FUCKING MONK MOVED.*
See, THIS is how you do a final boss. A stationary Ganon with a single, obviously telegraphed attack just doesn’t cut it.
Guess who isn’t going to be able to finish the dlc
Damo_ Animations not worth it anyway, horse is faster with the enhancement
I’m getting the DLC tomorrow, gotta complete Trial Of The Sword and get the clothing and stuff. I’m a PRO PRO. No joking, have 3 accounts that I have mastered the hole game.
I thought that too but then I beat him second try. First time caught me off guard
King: "Protect our Kingdom from the threat of Calamity Ganon!"
Link, 100 years later: "Yeah, about that..."
"I offer you this final trial..."
*fingers twitch, Maz Koshia suddenly reanimates and stands up*
"HOLY SHIT, DID HE JUST-"
*Maz Koshia stands there menacingly*
"You want a bad time, Old Timer-"
*music starts up, le spongebob_smirk.jpg*
HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, OLD MAN?!!!!!
Is that a undertale joke???
Good.
This guy is trickier to fight than Ganon, which is actually really funny. I love the fact you get to fight one of these things - they're eerie statues all throughout the game, bringing one in as a surprise boss is sick. And the scene where he began to move was hype af holy shit, with the music kicking in.
When you realize that the master sword doesn't do anything 'cause he's not evil.
The starting tune is definitely the best part of the song imo
somehow managed to beat him first try
Machineman Vlyox i managed to beat him before he even tilted the whole thing xD on first try of course ;)
Machineman Vlyox well... That was close xD
Once he started doing the guardian beams he was toast for my first try. I pride myself in shield parrying.
He's not too hard. He's definitely harder than the other bosses (He hit me dozens of times) but he's manageable. The fight is amazing nonetheless.
This made me cry because all of them are dead...
When I fought him, I had a awesome atmospheric Rainstorm going on, that lasted the entire time I fought him, and began to clear up the moment I finished the fight.
Zachary Waters pretty sure it does that no matter what
i love that you took the picture of them
Not sure if this is appropriate but....... CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES!!!!!
Boy bonds beyond time abridged was freaking hilarious
Me at 2:38 "Holy fuck this guy can use shadow clones"
Just insert an Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru in there and it's perfect.
Rabbinjara XD same
“In the name of the goddess hylia….”
“SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!”
Ok just gonna finish the trail
... wait the monk's moving?
OH SHIT ANCIENT WARRIOR BOSS BATTLE
at 12:41 i was like you thought that there were no more memorys but you were wrong
shacharco87 There is actually one more memory slot you can see beforehand, but I forgot all about it by the end.
Did anybody else realize who was taking the picture?
(It's purah, she says the snap thing)
I remember when I first got to that cutscene with him, I was like "There has to be a boss, right? Just like the other Divine Beasts. But this one wasn't touched by Ganon, so what will it be?" I saw the monk there, and I thought "Uhhhhhhhh... hello?" And when it starts to pan over him, and his finger moved, I about lost my shit, and even more so when he got up and announced his trial. Seriously, what a twist!
is the voice of the girl taking the pic purah?
alexandra hernandez prolly
alexandra hernandez it sounded a lot like cherimah leigh
In german pura and the girl say both ka-tshika, so yea its the Same person
I’m pretty sure
Click, snap!
This is the game that made me realize how tall the monks actually are
Imagine how much easier Link's life would have been if all the fucking monks had just given him the power he needed instead of throwing all these bs shrines at him lol, then theyre like "lets legit try to kill the one person who can save Hyrule"
This honestly might be my favorite boss battle in the game. It honestly feels like you’re in a friendly battle with a close mentor. There’s something about it that’s so fulfilling. Music is great too.
Best and hardest boss in the game! This should have been the TRUE final boss, not Ganon
Alexis Guillen It would be pretty damn hard to break the sword during the fight. Not impossible if you, well, suck at the game, but pretty hard.
Love how that sheikah monk can create shadow clones
2:55
(Slow clap)
best part
DO U KNOW HOW DAMN HARD THIS DUDE IS IN MASTER MODE?!??!
I LOVE IT
