I don't any more, but I had a 400 whp Trailblazer SS. It had a 4k stall converter, so I got horrible gas mileage, but it was a rocket of the lights. One night, some crew decided they needed it mare than I did. I say crew because there was no broken glass on the street an the Onstar module was thrown in a bush in front of my house.

The sleuthing diagnosis in this video is why your channel is #1 compared to all other UA-camrs that have Vlog channels that are disguised as automotive channels. Awesome content!
@@dingleberries360 what shortcut?
@@dingleberries360 must have just started watching the channel yesterday
?
I disagree somewhat on the sleuthing method and order of some steps , but he will eventually get there. Work on this exact kind of junk far too often. It'll run. I'm not going to finish watching tho. Good luck. Nice enough video for guys not used to this type of work. No ill will intended. L8R :-)
I love that your kids are helping you and you teach them
As a former mechanic and workshop owner I like how you diagnose faults!
Your meticulous inspections and testing eliminates potentially faulty components, narrowing the list of 'suspects' in your Jeep's mystery history!
By showing viewers how to eliminate potentially faulty or broken components, you help to dissuade them from simply replacing everything they think could be the cause of their problem!
Showing viewers how to economically clean their clogged and dirty fuel injectors is excellent, and imparts knowledge and confidence that will remain with them in the future!
Your adventures in automotive investigations are interesting, informative and entertaining, thank you for sharing!
What a great series so far. This is like a free class in automotive repair diagnostics. Thanks for the education and the entertainment.
Alex, your content has been so “legit” lately if I do say so myself. Much love my man.
Great channel.. it’s like watching a Samcrac that actually knows what he’s doing lol

I'm enjoying the direction you're taking your channel. Restoration on older cars is always a great learning experience for everyone. Yeah, city life is loud. You should just leave that in there, lol
Restoration/refurbishment is the greenest you can be.
Kevin's like "good for you dude, I'm the hell out of here." Lol
He's like ''....and you needed my help why?'' lol. Nice enough neighbor to help though so
He has the magic touch lol
Totally unimpressed 🤣
This is my favorite car series on UA-cam right now.
It is just awesome how an old car can be so interesting. 30 min went like nothing.
Did you watch M539 Restorations?😂When that german accent?😂😂
As a 5.9 ZJ owner, I can’t wait to see what you do to this.
24:10 love how you're so enthusiastic--"This might actually be running on 6 or 7 cylinders"
Love the 'written down list in my brain'. I do that all the time. Most of it gets erased randomly haha
"They tell me there are two signs of old age one of them as loss of memory and I don't remember the other one."
Same
Really nice to see someone actually trying to fix something without just replacing parts.... Keep it up buddy!
Such great, realistic content Alex.. really glad you're out here, I hope one day you can retire from the city and just make videos for us all to enjoy! Thanks again man
Love these types of videos. Makes me remember when I used to wrench on cars. And you are so correct by not just throwing parts at it you diagnose and reward the car as you go through it. Keep the great content coming. Stay safe
The saddest thing about this vehicle, is that it only has 120k on the odometer and someone just abandoned it. They gave up because they didn't know how to fix it, or just got a different vehicle.
Yep, and I imagine there are loads of people out there like that. They don't wrench every day, to borrow a fellow YT catch phrase! 😊
@Yirlani Why say it like that? You must not drive a beater car that has over 300k miles on it lol. Why trade it when it still runs and there isn't any car payments!
For many people the cost of repair, rental car, towing, lost wages etc can be more than the cost of getting a newer car with a warranty on a payment for $200-300/month.
And obviously most people don't work on their own cars whether its due to lack of knowledge/tools/time/ space to do it etc
Not really, gotta remember not everyone is capable of fixing/has the money to spend. That just makes it better for *us* when we find vehicles like this.
I bought a Q45 a few years back for $400 W/ 160K miles from an auction.
It was donated to Kars for Kids, I was very skeptical when buying it but they said it ran and drove, all it needed was some decent TLC because it was neglected and abandoned just like this.
I had looked into the history and found out it was a 1 owner car for most of its life, then its final few years it went to someone else and literally sat for years. Not sure where the negligence started, I suspect with the second owner, (more on that later), but when I got it, the rotors were BADLY grooved, all 4 replaced, the car had wheel locks and I think they just gave up and never replaced the rotors because they didn't have the lock, needed 2 front calipers(they were stuck), a windshield (hail), small hail dings(easy fix), alternator (died on the highway, in the middle of downtown, uphill so I couldn't change lanes, at 5pm rush hour from the auctionhouse, very fun), AC recharge, power steering was clogged, tire balance, alignment, etc.
Literally just lack of maintience stuff that I fixed really fast.
Car shined up VERY easily and became a super reliable car.
The tires were basically brand new, dated back to right around before the car was sold.
I also looked back into the maint history and found out it was taken care of pretty decently by the original owner, which is why I think it was the second owner who neglected it, tons of service going up to when he sold it.
It happens though, as a commenter said, $200-$300/month is worth it to never have to maintain a car if you don't know anything about cars. More steals for us though.
Underrated channel! I love your M.O. of rewarding the car with parts as the diagnostics progress. I like how you are an actual technician and this is filmed as it figured out rather than a premeditated solution with a huge new parts/while we are in there, sponsored order. Great content Alex!
I love seeing actual diagnostics on UA-cam, also enjoy the technical stuff
I love how you actually show your hands getting dirty going through every part of what your doing explaining in enough detail for someone not so familiar to even understand but not so much that it takes forever to get to the point. Glad I stumbled across these 2 videos, love the work and I will be waiting for that bell to show part 3!
Honeslty Alex, I've learned so much from your channel about vehicles, maintenance and repair. You were the reasons i bought my c55 and i love it. Your hard work, attention to detail and down to earth approach is refreshing. Easily one of the top channels on youtube.
Thanks! I appreciate you being part of the LSC fam since the beginning.
Yeah...... he's taking over. Hooves. VGG. Very close but I'm liking this more and more every video.

I feel like I just finished binge watching a show and caught up. Can’t wait for the next video, great job.
Following the progress of this vehicle, learning a lot , appreciating your knowledge and subscribing to learn more. The humor is always an added bonus. Thanks
Can't believe how far the SUV performance has come these days. Love these old vehicle builds in between the more expensive ones.
I really want to see this fastest suv being restored!!
would be nice to see it restored properly since parts for this are nothing compared to AMG
Definitely worth restoring
I'd like to see it restored too. Even though it's just a jeep grand cherokee. It's the 5.9 magnum that makes it bad ass. They didn't make a lot of them or make them for a lot of years. I just think it's the coolest jeep. Besides the track hawk but let's be real here. That is way way out of price range.
Nice...Nice to see the work paying off... and I learned a few things. thanks !
It’s really nice to see one of you online UA-cam mechanics that advocate for the community to take the time to actually troubleshoot the issues your having with the vehicle instead of just Throwing parts at it Cause then when you do get it running you have no idea what fixed it!! It is the absolute WORST way to try and work thru an issue and fix the problem and not to mention that it could get extremely expensive, extremely quick!!
How would you like it if you took your car to the shop for repair and they just started changing everything in the ignition system and then tried starting It but still have The same issue so you change a bunch of the fuel system parts and try starting it with no luck and on and on. If it’s in the shop, then you just spent thousands on replacement parts that you quite possibly didn’t need at all and you can not return electrical or fuel related parts once installed.
Learn how to troubleshoot folks!! Your wallet is gonna thank you so much for doing so!!!!
Think about Little Helper when she can actually reach the pedals - the Ultimate Petrolhead Girl :)
Alex got that Steph Curry drip with the starting fluid….FROM DEEEEP! 🤣
Dude, that's some great progress on getting the Jeep running again. Love the process and the systematic approach too. Nice job.

I really like this series of an old car and reviving it
Awesome video Alex, one of the best!
Great job Alex. You reminded me when I cleaned my car injectors beside the road once. All I used was a syringe and a carb cleaner. The injector fit inside the plunger side of syringe and the nozzle of the carb cleaner on the other side. With a connector to the battary, I would press the carb cleaner and frantically connect and disconnect the injector to cycle it. It worked just fine in the situation I was in. Great work on the channel BTW. Been here from the black C43. I can't wait to see it grow.
Keep the fix up running on the cheap! 👍🇨🇦
I love these kinds of videos and how you think things through, do some tests, and slowly and methodically figure out the problems and solutions.
Love this level of detail and diagnosis. Great video!
I like this channel - no shouting, no sleaze - just informative diagnosis, thank you.
Here we perfect example of "internet experts." "Internet Mechanics" giving advice to Certified Automotive Technician.
I AM CERTIFIED AUTOMOTIVE TECH / INSPECTOR, USING A #194 BULB ,CHECK INJECTOR PULSE ..., NO PULSE ..BAD CRANK SENSOR
UA-cam certified master technician here checking in.
this here is the perfect comment.. dealerships love the automotive diagnostic parts cannon.. I fix my cars myself because mechanics all rip you off. then spends 2x the cost of repairs in unassociated replacement not parts that were completely functional in a method to save 200 bucks of Labor..
I cant help but be amused at the "certified automotive techs". Some years ago, a buddy of mine had a mid 90s Dakota 318 that wouldnt start. He had not 1 but 2 of those so called certified auto techs come by and look at it, one lived right across the street from him, both said they'd need to have it towed to their shops and hooked onto the computer. Then, my phone rings, I go over, try to crank it, of course it doesn't fire up, pulled the coil wire off the distributor, stuck a screwdriver in it, held the screwdriver close to an engine bolt, no spark. 15 minutes and a new coil later, he was running again. Sometimes you need those diagnostic computers, but unfortunately, techs seem to depend on them a little too much
Ase apparently doesn't teach you to crack the throttle and spray a bunch of starter fluid down below the butterflies.
Spraying it like you're trying to kill a spider that you are scared of isn't the way to do it.
“A fuel injector is a very basic thing”
Me who’s been having injector nightmares on my diesel car: *shudders*
Diesel injectors are a whole different animal
Yes. Diesel fuel is abrasive, so it will eventually wear out the injectors.

@@bongodave13
It is not, it's got more lubricity than gasoline.
Stupid comment. Diesel isn't abrasive. What an idiotic idea
Really like your videos Alex so informative! Keep up the great work!
I really liked that you took us along through the diagnostic process and shared your knowledge. Very much enjoy learning something as you entertain us. Keep this type of content coming please!
Have a good Legit Saturday folks😁👍👍
I did mention replacing the fuel filter but that was for long term or maintenance not just to get it running, if you're going to give it a complete tune then replace the 12 buck fuel filter as like i said its OFTEN neglected, i put the 4 hole BOSCH injectors from EBAY in mine as the original ones were functioning but not at 100% spray
Awesome vid Alex! Learnt a heap! 👌
