imagine being able to switch from platformer to sidescroller mid level, that would be used in every recent tab level and would make for some good levels if used correctly with the song trigger
The sad thing is you have to imagine because rob said that you won’t be able to switch mid level (he could change his mind but probably not as it would be hard to code)
I'll be honest i think it's very unnecessary, if you really need a chase in a platformer level you can just make a wall of spikes rush after you
it can be cool for making some "gd in gd" levels or just doing something like in mania dash (omegafalcon's fangame)
Platformers are the most annoying lvls ever

If duals are available in platformer mode, this one will already have as many as 6 buttons! and minigame creators will be able to do crazy things with those 6 buttons, and you can even combine them!And that's even more features!

i think its a hot take to say that the song trigger will be a great part of the update. im really excited since there are parts in songs that i want to cut out in my levels, since sometimes it might flow better. also its useful if you want a drop that lasts longer than 15 seconds.
Something I haven't seen anybody talk about is that the song trigger could, in theory, be used to make completely original music.
I think we'll see a few people start to make music levels.
By cutting between parts of a song, you can sample a song and make something unique out of it. I think this will lead to more creative level makers using the tool to splice together super unique music out of the preexisting Newgrounds music.
It might ruin the sync tho

@@BendyCheesesenatorarmstrong Unity doesn't have a singular particle system. Unity has 2 particle systems with different purposes.

Tbh i think that random trigger abuse won't be an issue since the levels are rated by robtop so he can avoid rating levels that abuse those.

edit: I changed my direction in gd, and now I'm excited for scale, camera, music triggers and more precise numbers in triggers, and in 2.3 the sfx

Not even the roblox creating system is as detailed as the 2.2 editor will be, i wonder what levels will be made.
6:55 its not only 4x speed, its also 3x speed. i tried with my level on gd world, and when the spider was going at 3x speed, it was doing this animation.
also, why are they called "spiders" when they have 4 legs only ?

With the song trigger now you can literally make a Mario Castle level with the boss music starting when you reach the boss without making the level normal meaning you can use Platformer mode and still have the boss music play during the boss.
it would be cool if there was a hole trigger that would make an opening in the game floor and if you fell in the normal game mode you would die, but in platform mode you could choose whether you would die or not in the trigger settings.
my guy is already talking about 2.3. serious dedication. i say SERIOUS DEDICATION.

Wouldn't it be cool if the menu music changed to your last played song's music? Maybe RobTop could make it so it'll put a random effect from the level in your home screen, like glitch or bulge.

I think that you should have the option to make the level a platformer game, and if you chose platformer but want to go into normal mode, then you use a portal to go into normal mode.

for the people worried about the random trigger, your forgetting about almost every other trigger which can also be abused.

Isn’t the spider orb and pad basically is the gravity orb and pad but don’t tilt and make u go straight up
I think the orange teleport portal should be also available to move it left and right! Kinda like the nock em teleport portals! And I think he gonna add teleport orbs too! I think there should be also a shrinking orb! 😮
Fun fact:first camera trigger was added in 2.1 sadly not many people use it (shake)
2.2 will have improved scaling which means you can go past 0.5x and 2x, which also means you can optimise your levels, or you can scale hack some objects for details

My bold prediction is that someone will remake Fireboy and Watergirl in GD 2.2 Using Platformer, 2 Player mode and the Dual Portal

I actually used a sideways black orb Ufo and crossed 30000000 units and I can say that getting there normally will make you stop moving but with the insane speeds, I could get there without stopping
