Granite Mountain Trail to the Firewatch Station - Amputee Outdoors

- This hike is a bit of a thigh burner. In just over four miles you'll gain 3,8000 feet in elevation. However, the views are worth it. The reason they built a fire watch station at the top of Granite Mountain, is because on a clear day, you have a 360-degree view of the Cascade mountains for miles. I was fortunate on this trip to be given a tour of the fire watch station, so make sure to watch to the end. This was also the first time I used my new hiking umbrella and with the temperature hitting 95F it made a huge difference. Much cooler with it. (Link below)

Nice video and hike. Thank you for sharing. Take care and catch you on the next one.
Thanks, you too!
Wow.. amazing views.. too bad about the smoke.
Thanks for the video brother
Thanks for watching. I'm going to have to try that hike again when the sky is clearer.
So very picturesque and serene upload, loving the combination of shots and visuals here my friend!
Thank you! I've been trying to get a variety of angles in my shots. A little tricky sometimes and requires creativity with the flexible tripod.
One of my favorite hikes in WA! Pretty brutal because of how steep it is for someone who's not in great shape like myself, but the view at the top is majestic!
My favorite time to go is actually in the Winter on one of the rare crystal clear sky days we get then, and be in awe at all the snow covered mountains around you and how bright and sparkly everything looks!
People make a big deal about Mailbox Peak, but in my opinion, this viewpoint is better.
That hike is no joke.
It's challenging, but if an old guy with a prosthetic leg can do it....
@amputeeoutdoors I'm not saying it can't be done. I've done it, but I was in much better shape and it took far longer than anticipated. Would have been nice to know there was a trail around the boulder field at the base of the lookout. Great you got a tour. I ate lunch on that same flat rock.
Nice hike up the mountain. I’m surprised the granite boulders weren’t taken yet. Or is this just the scraps that were left over? Congratulations on reaching the look out. Too bad about the smoke. We had it here not to long ago from the Canadian wild fires. Nice views at the top. 👍
No scraps, those are just boulders left behind when the glaciers receded.
Outstanding views. Man, sure looked smokey! Same sort of conditions here in Alberta, Canada. The smoke situation is so bad. This year's fire situation was brutal.
The smoke has finally cleared now but we still have six forest fires going in Washington. Autumn rains can't come soon enough.
I met you today on P3. Hope you made it down safely. Nice channel!
I did, took a while to get down the trail. Great view along the ridge!
Thanks for sharing mate. I loved this. You have the perfect voice to do these voice overs. I've tried doing my own but nah... Sounds terrible :-) By the way, I just recently remembered I have an e-mail attached to my channel. That said, I read your mail and the answer is... Feel free to use and or share my stuff as much as you like. Thanks again brother!
Thanks Hobo. Honestly, I spend a lot of time figuring out what to say and then recording my voice over 2-3 times to get it right. :)
@@amputeeoutdoors and you get it just right if you ask me. Don’t get this wrong but I actually find it easier going to sleep after watching one of your uploads 😀💪
