That is incredible! And a stone house, too! Lucky people! That moon gate is one of the neatest looking things I've ever seen! One of my favorite things about your country is all the beautiful stone and brickwork! Keep creating beauty like this, gentlemen, we need it in this world!
Maybe they will start incorporating this into the mosques being built all over the country we will someday fondly remember as Great Britain, part of the Muslim Empire of the future...I don't like it, but it's not my country and they seem okay in letting it happen.
I guess im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Ricardo Jordy I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Wonderful display of primitive art, architecture, building practices. I live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and ya'll would fit in here quite comfortably.
Everything in UA-cam looks easy or ask my wife when she wants me to do something and the first thing she says is : But in UA-cam they do easy and fast 🤦🏻♂️
It was made slowly, but it was excellent! Funeral is a noble gesture. Now I understand the bird song it was for the wren. You guys are excellent and noble masters! It will stand for a long time, in Hungarian history : the high castle of Deva, the legend of the mason Clement. ( kűműves Kelemen ) .
UN...F%ckin'...believable!!! Truly a work of art! If you ever make it to Boston, USA, the beers are on me!!! wicked cool to watch, I was actually nervous when you were taking the wood mold down, but that's just me being stupid, cause that thing is built with big ass stone, im impressed, nothing else to say but BRAVO!!!
how is this sturdy? I have only built dry stack walls with a batterboard for the rise and run. they didnt even use a line? all free hand? can someone explain some of their principles so i can learn? thanks!
Stunning work guys, but I'm pretty sure "ancient dry stone walling techniques" did not use a diamond tipped grinder (2.21). However your video has inspired me to attempt a similar project. I hope it turns out as impressive as your work. Thanks for the inspiration
No arguments from me. I am sure you can tell from my previous comment that I wasn't criticising the guys work. On the contrary, they gave me the inspiration to build my own, and FWIW I also used a diamond tipped grinder. Kudos
I dont get why its not collapsing. I know the physics behind it. I just expect it to fall down by the slightest touch. It has no mortar or glue and it just relies on structure to stay in place. But it really looks like it should give sideways and crumble down. Remarkable.
4:09 you can see at the top of the arch some sort of paste thing between one of the rocks, so they used something to glue them together, looks awesome anyway
Fucking gorgeous work! Can I come work for you ha ha. stone work is a big part of our jobs in the west country as brickie/stone layers and that is probably the best I will see. I just wish everyone would pay for such an amazing piece of art rather than blocks and render. Well done if I did that I could die happy. Faultless,!!!!!
Ann Oynmous theres nothing stopping it moving? Its called gravity... im a pretty well respected dry stone waller who has built multiple arches.. these lads did a good job.
Ann Oynmous: Look at the build shot at 1:45 and the shot at 4:40. The wall is roughly 35-40 cm (14-16 inches) across, and each of those stones are spanning the entire width of the arch. I'm guessing each of those larger stones weigh in around 50 lbs or more. The upper arch alone is more than likely well over 600 lbs. Due to friction of each rock on rock, lateral force of the arch on the rest of the wall, and gravitational down force; I doubt that you would be able to even budge it. If built properly the strength of an arch exponentially grows with it's weight.
Look at the profile of El Racó del Bosc, they are artisans working with natural stone, it is an area with more than a thousand years of history, they have gastrotourism experiences.
Killer Job.... How long will this stay up? Guess? WILL YOU UPDATE US IF THE ARCH FAILS?ARE THERE MANY ARCHER SIMILAR TO THIS ONE (around the world)THAT STAY UP FOR A HUNDRED YEARS OR IS THAT UNREALISTIC?
I would have bent a piece of rebar in the same radius as the arch and drilled and thread each arch stone onto it like beads, hidden on either end in the thickness of the wall. No one would ever see it or know it was perfectly safe afterwards. As it sits it looks too precarious, like after some freeze thaw the tops stones might loosen. I think there should have been more of a wedge shape to the key stone at the top center and maybe more stone on top of the arch for weight locking it all together.
Well the beauty of these things for most people is not just the look but the skill and the technique of using gravity and physics to make something possible that seems to our eyes to be impossible. Adding a hidden rebar “spine” if you will, cheapens and even negates the entire point of this craft.
Everything in UA-cam looks easy or ask my wife when she wants me to do something and the first thing she says is : But in UA-cam they do easy and fast 🤦🏻♂️
The creation of a dry stone structure brings a feeling of personal pride, accomplishment, and lasting natural beauty for others.
I agree...but just a lil bit of mortar, and it wouldn't have sagged that ever so much...and a good push wouldn't be the end of it...
That is incredible! And a stone house, too! Lucky people! That moon gate is one of the neatest looking things I've ever seen! One of my favorite things about your country is all the beautiful stone and brickwork! Keep creating beauty like this, gentlemen, we need it in this world!

Now sign Your names sculptor artists! Its beautiful and great work! ❤
a beautiful transition from the curve to the horizontal stone courses
how much lateral force can it withstand?
This is a work of Art good Sirs. Truly inspiring. Thanks for thinking about us when building your arch! Lovely!
I guess im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?

@Kannon Karter instablaster :)

@Ricardo Jordy It worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D
@Kannon Karter happy to help :)
Beautiful! But how stable is it?
Incredibly.... the interlocking stones support the arch no problem 😉
99.97% stability
How long can structures like this last?
I want one of these in my backyard soo bad!! Ya'll did an amazing job!
WHAT A JOB,Fantastic Video
Wonderful display of primitive art, architecture, building practices. I live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and ya'll would fit in here quite comfortably.
Moongate, marvellous work!
Really adds to the look of the house and garden. Reminds me very much of the Carrbridge bridge in Scotland.
Great job ! Just beautiful !!
Simply stunning!
Where is this stargates activation console?
Beautiful work of art! They make it look so easy I would like to give it a try myself!! 👍👍👍😎🇨🇱
Everything in UA-cam looks easy or ask my wife when she wants me to do something and the first thing she says is : But in UA-cam they do easy and fast 🤦🏻♂️
Amazing! The music was really good too. Anyone know who plays it?
That is just bad ass, you guys rock! I got to make one now, very nice!
Well done gentlemen, well done!
Outstanding guys, what a beautiful entrance to the house.
I love these dry Stone projects. Really beautiful work here. All I can think about is earthquakes though
This is so so beautiful, real talent here
Amazed at this sort of thing. Would love to do this (with proper training/apprenticeship) for a living. Well done!

Did you notice the shift in the structure as the frame is removed?
This is stunning!
UN...F%ckin'...believable!!! Truly a work of art! Fantastic job!!!
how is this sturdy? I have only built dry stack walls with a batterboard for the rise and run. they didnt even use a line? all free hand? can someone explain some of their principles so i can learn? thanks!
I salute my fellow masons, your trust in the balance of that arch.... phew wee....!! Well done.
Is the movement seen at 3:39 normal? It moved a bit once the wood supports were removed.
probably, it is never 100% a circle with natural stones I reckon. So it just took its natural shape after the mold was taken off.
Yes exactly, natural settlement and shows how stable the structure is now. Had it been unstable, the whole arch would have collapsed at that point.
Yeah it will settle a little after the mold is removed and they lock in
Awesome work
Lovely arch and beautifully laid, perhaps some bigger ones might've helped composition... is that mort at 3.54?
breathtaking!
Interesting construction result
fantasic stone art and well crafted you fellas know your stuff nice geetar pickin too !
So amazing and perfect and incredible, do it again

I'm sure they would have if it was available
Brilliant!
That's some nice work right there. 👍
Can we use this video on our youtube channel?
Lovely job 👌
Wow! Looks so ancient!
Love it ....can’t help but wonder
Fantastic.
How these stones don't fall?
What is the diameter of the wood circle (without the down part being cut off)? Thx.

That looks so cool
Whats the cost of materials for something like that?
Amazing work !
4:09 you can see at the top of the arch some sort of paste thing between one of the rocks, so they used something to glue them together, looks awesome anyway
Lol, do you think maybe it's Elmers Glue?
Might forming a true parabolic curve have been stronger rather than modifying the circle at the shoulder mid-point?
Certainly, parabolic and catenaric are much stronger
Very very nice, what kind of stone was used for this ?
Made me all emotional. How to get flat rocks?
Really great music stunning house and gardens I hope no sparrows or starlings land on this
Beautiful. Now for some plants to grow within it.
Absolutely fantastic
So no mortar or any type of bonding epoxy?
Impressive. Most Impressive.
Good job 👍

So beautiful
With no mortar how long does this last? I feel like it would be kinda delicate
It'll last forever unless somebody knocks it down or a force of nature disturbs the ground
Looks cool, but no way this would pass code in the states. Also, seems pretty short to make it a convenient pathway.
If I build on private property and it's not like it would be a commercial job or new construction where it would be inspected
So beautiful!
fantastic,well done 🕺🏾
Beautiful work. You should fix the spelling of you web address above and make it a link.
Stunning! 🤯👍🏻
Deserves admiration! Great!
how stable was it as the top? look amazing, but surely a good knock would have that tumbling down - this is a cruiosm not a critism btw :)
I would of applied a quality PL construction adhesive between the stones for strength
Deliberately built to the same design as would have been used pre construction adhesive.
Do you lot understand how an arch works? Construction adhesive? Get the fuck outta here..

Arches last centuries
Плохой перевод текста на русский язык !
Well done! Cheers!
Did you use a stone saw at all?
Красиво. А это надежно? Дети или или кто то неловки не завалят эту красоту себе на голову ?
While it’s perfect and beautiful, you will never get the moon through there.
That's completely unacceptable and dangerous you need to finish that before somebody gets hurt.
Arches have stood like that for centuries chill out OSHA
This is art!
so u did use concrete? just asking cuz it says dry stone.
What's the music
How stunning ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bravo!

You don't do stonework obviously, bc they would make it 100x more difficult to do.
@@allhopeabandon7831I agree, the key stone is all you need clearly the Roman aqueducts are still standing and they didn't need that.
Well the beauty of these things for most people is not just the look but the skill and the technique of using gravity and physics to make something possible that seems to our eyes to be impossible. Adding a hidden rebar “spine” if you will, cheapens and even negates the entire point of this craft.
Great music with this video as well as the build! I looked up this song and can only find the live version. What album is this from?
what is the name of the song and where can I find it
Good job
Amazing 😍Top of beauty
Stone work.. and creativity at its best... fukin.... bad Ass.....
No mortar?
Shane K mortar would trap water and cause frost damage, ultimately weakening the whole structure
👍👍
Magical
My hole would pucker every time I walked through it.
Que increíble, sin pegamento !!!
That shift a 3:38 makes me wat to push it over before it kills someone.
Everything in UA-cam looks easy or ask my wife when she wants me to do something and the first thing she says is : But in UA-cam they do easy and fast 🤦🏻♂️
