What Odin brings to the table:
- Cruiser hull with 32 plating
- 31 knots but zero engine power, gerriatric reverse
- BC guns with BB accuracy
- Tier 6 health
- Tier 5 Torpedos but an acceptable amount, so its a DD I guess
- secondaries with zero accuracy, so building into them still yields zero accuracy
- kinda looks cool

You forgot that it has T5 health. Kongo is bulkier than this thing.
@@henryherold4515Kongo just exceptional for T5 since T5 mostly below 50k, also Pyotr same with Kongo. T6 HP range are already 50k + but none surpass 60k however Normandie, Doria and Novorriysk are below 50k. So it's correct to say it's T6 HP
1st test version of this ship was actually a God. Then the CCs overhyped it, WG took notice, dug a 10000 ft deep hole, and smacked this boat with the most powerful nerfhammer ever straight into said hole.
And then they put the un-nerfed version in Legends, where it was.... alright, I guess.
Edit: it did have nerfed secondaries with the same 'standard' range as most other BBs in the game.

@@Choukai_Chan they are not completely useless, they are still a tool of psychological warfare and lighting of fires. Also Odin is a bit sturdier then Zieten due to different armor layout. It serves a purpose of "ambush-hunt and kill". Kiting is not great in this ship as Yuro pointed out, so you need to be able to conquer areas you are going to push in and/or use "checkpoints" like islands to get a refreshment.
But the ship is really maneuvreable and secondaries can and will do their work, though definitely not as efficient. But the range is actually useful for earlier start of aiming improvement and buildup for those 60% accuracy buff. Add in Lutjens and you get a pretty good ship.
I remember pushing 6 enemy ships on a flank by myself in the Odin and actually survived the engagement while shattering that flank, while most of my team was behind an island. One of the enemy captains said I had balls doing that.

@@ZZMonkeysUncleZZ I've got the Sharn and the Odin, tomato/Tomatoe. They used to be great ships but they don't have the punch they used to. Loved hunting DD's and cruisers in them.
Since the last patch I feel like shells going straight through and getting fires with every shell has increased dramatically...
They did 100% mess up something...

I agree, I was playing the Massachusetts last night, and I swear someone's shell passed through my conning tower.
Maybe they accidentally mixed up the new patch with the old WoWs Blitz 1.0 files. Torps and shells had a mind of their own back then, and they could phase through the barriers of reality itself

Other than they cut her secondary range in half almost otherwise yes very good and underrated on Legends.
I have the Odin, and yes, she is a beast and is completely underrated.
I think Odin may be one of the only BBs where WG completely turned off their brains when making it.
This makes Sharnhorst’s sister Gnesinau and the Tirptiz more fun to play with

Odin secretly has the most powerful weapon in the world: the Bonk hammer.
Too bad it doesn't to anything in WOWs.
I found right when this thing came out that it was actually good to run rudder mod on it, because it has a good turning circle and really good armor aside from that one problem. Rudder mod makes it a bit easier to make the shells not hit you in your no no square by baiting them into shooting your belt instead, then turning.
Might also be that it came out right when wg finally fixed the ricochet sounds and I was just getting addicted to the clonk clank clunk noises.
I can't help but feel like Odin got shadownerfed... with that dispersion... it feels more like 300 m dispersion than the 250 that it is
That said, I have the most kills in a single battle with the Odin

Odin is the battleship that is hard to destroy for a carrier every time I try to kill it it’s repair party fills up the hp so quick

its honestly quite fun in those rare times you get a tier 6 game, you get to cosplay right among the tier 6 bbs.. other than that it is miserable in randoms and I dont exactly play it frequently
I do find it to be acceptably decent in ranked though. Yeet into an island by cap, pop hydro, and then farm anything that comes along. Your secondaries will pen something like a massa but his will struggle to do more than light fires thanks to the thick deck/ upper belt and small superstructure. The low pen/velocity of the guns also makes it reasonably strong at getting penetration damage on superstructure.
The size, maneuverability, hydro, and torps also all just feel really good for those inevitable knife fights. Its not like you are going to need to kite in ranked anyhow

I once in a hipper with another friendly hipper met a full health odin with a derpitz player (probably). I thought i was going to die since im leading the charge against the odin ... unload all my torps at it ... with the friendly hipper finnish it off ... together we won the game while humiliated both sides with a double hipper carry ...
Jesus, what to say about it… Well, WARGAMING murdured another German secondary ship like the agir… I remember watching your Odin video 2 years ago, and you were obsessed by this monstrosity of secondary’s and dopamine farmer. But in wargaming old fashioned way, they kill all fun ship that old players loved. Still love your videos Yuro, continue the awesome work ;)

I know that German BBs are pretty much magnets that attract enemy fire (and somehow tank them if the RNG is kindhearted), but this is just sad.
And unless you get lucky with with super crates, nobody can get it anymore

One reason why Scharnhorst was a great ship is the fact that the old MM almost never put T7 ships against the T8, let alone against the T9. The T7 ships had "protected" MM. The same can be said about Saipan, which only had to be cautious against Atlanta's AA.
there is nothing more dangerous than a half conscious boomer in his HE spamming Colorado/New Mexico, at least on NA
completely immune to citadels, nothing in the game could citadel him at any range, completely immune to fires, gets the most ridiculous volleys off in the few moments where he is lucid and someone gets in range of him riding the 10 line
