I am like you. Can't save everything but it's a grand old place with a lot of history so if people can pony up the money and time it takes to save it I think its great. Thanks for the video and thanks to the volunteer whoever she was.
I really love this place. All the old stone is absolutely beautiful. Loving that creek. So glad they are saving this piece of history. Being a former spinner at a cotton mill there is tons of history in these old mills. They were the hubs of small towns and usually consists of store/post office and mill village. It was where everyone worked. Communities were close back then. Really cool place.
It is great to see people rejuvenate these lovely old factories and mills...they are the buildings that built America in the early days....good stuff. Great video.
Thanks for the video JP. GREAT old history and more memorable places like this need to be there for people to see what life was like over the years at this mill. These volunteers are great people Well done to them. A great part of American history!!😎🐓🐓🐓🇬🇧💯
What a great exploration! I’m so gratified to see history being preserved and repurposed rather than destroyed. I’m looking forward to your updates on this place in the future. Thanks!
I lived in the area in the 60s and 70s...I spent many hours after school playing in the woods, the stream, and ruins in the area. There was Colonial spring house down the road...it was overgrown with cattails and in a swamp, but my brother I knew what it was from seeing similar structures at national parks. It was bulldozed and the swamp infilled for a housing development. There was also a covered bridge down the road a bit, that I used to visit on my bicycle. I think it also has been torn down due to lack care. We stayed out of the Mill ruins because it was not safe, but I ice skated on the pond above the mill damn (not all that safe with thin ice) It is good that the area is being cleaned up and the history maintained.
Another Painted Masterpiece of Early Americana by JP. Videos Love the Views , I realized these are Places that We may or may not get to see. Thanks for Allowing Betty and Don to tag along once again. Safe travels God Bless. See
Every town and city in America should take pride in the restoration of places such as this old mill. Otherwise future generations will never be able to SEE what they looked like and how they operated. It's aso great for tourism. I'm sure there are many others, than just me, who love historical landmarks from days gone by. Thanks for an interesting and informative video.
Loved the place and the history. I look forward to seeing it again when you go back. Thanks for taking us, JP. Happy 4th of July to you, Jill and Lily! 🌝
What an awesome project ! They have a lot of work ahead of them but what a wonderful thing they are doing ..preserving their local history . ( nice to think the lining of my Dad's WW flight jacket may have been made here at the mill). Glad Matt & Jess shared this location with you and you took us along : } Thanks : }
Thank you JP for everything you show us and the explorations you do. I have never been to the east of the Mississippi since I was a baby. It us nice to see it all from Alaska and my monitor/cellphone.
Great place with so much history in it wow! Thanks for sharing...the universe blessed you with that volunteer as you do some tremendous work in composing your videos for us to enjoy. Angels Blessings to you, Jill and Lili. 🙏🙏🙏🙏✨✨✨✨😊
You did an awesome job on the video, I’ve been a volunteer at the mill for five years and you were mostly correct with your narrative. Fun fact the little structures you’re talking about at the end used to be the men’s and women’s our house. Thanks again for highlighting our mill
JP I know this video is a couple weeks old I’m just now getting to it. I grew up in upstate New York and I lived in a little town near an old township called “Washington mills” and nearby was another township called “New York mills”, and sadly many of those ole mills were razed. My parents moved into the area in the mid 60’s and said there were many old mill buildings still standing but going to seed fast. Some were saved. Some were turned into retail stores or modern business. I’m so glad this particular mill is being salvaged, albeit I know some is beyond saving. My dad was aircrew WW2 on board B-24 liberators, it would be interesting if his liner was made at this factory
Yes please come back and check the progress this is so cool !! I love when important history like this is saved !! So many cool things made here upholstery for Fisher Body.....wow to cool !! To bad they let it go so long before it was put on the historic registry . But thr important thing now is it is saved and getting new life !! Really liked the pictures at the end so cool !! This was really cool I really liked this !! 👍👍👍
What an interesting place. I'm glad that this historical location is being reused and not demolished. You guys lucked out by meeting a generous volunteer to give a "peek" of the off limits areas. How cool is that. Some locations like this disappear from developers that have little or no regard for the past/ history. East Brandywine township is lucky to have such a dedicated group of people. Thanks for sharing this with us Jay. 👊👍
Really nice explore and information about the mill and the buildings! Learned all about how water towers operate too. It amazes me how the generations before us generated their water flow and powered the mill. Glad it is being restored and saved, quite the undertaking for sure. Thank you for this one nicely done Jay! 💦💦💦
@@JPVideos81 yeah it was really neat! It was remodeled with modern amenities like the kitchen and bathroom but huge thick walls, naturally air conditioned! Original dirt floor basement with stone walls. Had a bit of a mold issue but the rent was next to nothing! 😆
Hi Jay, what a lovely place even in the state it's in at the moment there is still a lot to do there. It's going to be a big undertaking to restore it all but what a fantastic place when it's all finished, I would definitely like to see you return when they have completed the restoration to the point where they are happy with it. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
The woman said it will be ongoing for years, but I'm certain they will have quite a bit done in the next couple of years. If anything, I can show the progress they made.
Good evening Jp excuse my silence I've been very busy with my sick parents who both have lumonia, had to take a minute to relax and watch this incredible tour..what a piece of old architecture that still look stunning..thanks so much for sharing this history have an awesome week ahead mate
Beautiful place! I'm so glad they are restoring it and saving history! Really nice guide there, great she showed ya'll around! I wish more historical places like that were restored and saved! Great video JP! Thanks for bringing us along!
Really enjoyed this video especially that the structures will be restored. Too bad the city of Wilkes Barre PA didn't do the same with all the railroad history, Old Fell House and Planters Peanut office. Again, a very good video.

Yes, definitely! I'll be here whenever you come back too. Nice explore! Thank you, my friend. 😊😊😊👍😎💙💙💙
+Most certainly I feel in New Zealand land developers just rip them down and don't care about the history let alone saving it.. especially in Auckland
I AGREE WITH YOU..IT WOULD BE NICE TO SAVE THESE OLD PLACES ♥️♥️

Very, very interesting! I love that they are renovating the area instead of tearing it down. Great history there! Awesome! 👍❤️✌🏻
Not often that happens
I liked seeing the old machines.
Would be interesting to step back in time to see it when it was in operation.
@@JPVideos81 that would be amazing to see it, very few old buildings like that. Have that old machines left be, nice to see that 1800s machines.

Hey I used to live in those workers houses! Wasn’t a park back then but I would still explore 😊 Very cool you came and captured Bondsville!
That's pretty neat that you lived in such a historic spot. What was the home like on the inside? Original or remodeled?

When I was in high school we had a water tower and it was a favorite on friday nights for the teens to climb to ??
I would so love to metal detect that place for them!

At least there doing sonething with rhe old mill
The destruction compared to the door holding color.
The old paint probably stained the layers of wood
They don’t make places that anymore. I know a place you’ll like over here is called lantermans mill.
Hi
Wish more places were saved instead of destroyed. We are loosing so much of our past.
Agreed
It seems so easy for humans to use and then toss things aside to waste away..
So many gems lost.
