Never is too absolute. He mostly used down.

I think this is an excellent lesson on a deceptively tricky song to play. The chords, as you mentioned, are easy: E, A, and D, but the rhythm is the challenging part. This is where your lesson excels. Your slow, methodical approach reinforces the “how to” strum and “where and when” to change chords. Your instructions on the introduction (sliding up your E [D shape] to the fourth fret) and the solo [D shape for A and E] and [Triads for D and A]were also very good. I learned a lot, and in my books, that makes it a very good lesson! Thank you very much
