    My friend is so stressed out because she has a professor that refuses to give her a direct answer on how to properly in-text cite a author and a organization both together in (1) parenthesis. Or the correct way if that is not the proper way it should be done. Can you please give an fair example on how to do this properly with one author w/ a organization and another demonstrating the proper way to in-text cite multiple authors w/ a organization. Because we cant find the answers on how to in-text cite a author along with a organization without them trying to switch or swap one for the other .

    I am still stuck at one question. I am doing research on Sartre. I have mentioned some other writer's work that has worked on related topic. Any chance of clarifying how MLA differs from other referencing styles? I find, from this segment, MLA style is easy and uncomplicated.But usually,some academicians have one preference over the other. I'd stick to MLA, given the choice.

    • @peakdavid
      @peakdavid  Рік тому

      MLA is designed for literature and the humanities. If you go deep into the MLA Handbook, you'll see specific, arcane examples. APA focuses on the social sciences. A problem occurs when a school or professor tries to apply one style to all disciplines.

    In one example the quoted text is in quotation marks and in the other it is in italics. Was this just illustrative is there a standard between the two or are the specific to each type of quotation?

    • @peakdavid
      @peakdavid  2 роки тому

      Just illustrative. Italics are used for quotes only in special circumstances and outside the body of the paper.

    What about internet sources?

    • @peakdavid
      @peakdavid  2 роки тому

      All MLA in-text citations follow the same basic format: author last name + locator. If there is no author, use a shortened version of the title. For internet sources, the locator can be a page number, line number, section number or paragraph number. Here is a pdf of the bit.ly/mlain-textcitationformats.
