Hi Mike, You can use a distribution strip, but you can also just pick the power from the power connector or a power bus near by. However, you need to consider how much combined power the stop sections could use if you divert power from one spot to all stop tracks. The issue is potential overload of wires. This can be a significant load with older models with older motors or light bulbs. Todays modern rolling stock uses much less power. I guess what I am saying is that consider how to wire your layout, consider the max load hat might flow through the wires (how many locomotives) and minimize length of wires. I hope this helps? A realization just hit me concerning a stop track. When the train is moving counter clockwisw as yours is in the video the train will stop at the signal. If for some reason the direction is reversed to go clockwise the stop track will stop the train in error. Is there a fix for that situation?
Hi Mike, Agreed it is an issue when going the opposite direction on the stop track. I am wondering if you could make a solution using an M84 where it will provide power when passing a circuit track in opposite direction and turning it off when it has passed. Hi, You are absolutely right - you can use the m84 to make stop sections in the shadow station - no need for the signals. When you are doing this you can think of the stop section more as a light you can turn on/off. In this video you see how the m84 is used to control red/green for each signal - which means you have 4 red output for STOP sections. You can also reconfigure the m84 to have 8 independent outputs as show in the video with the m84 and lights: ua-cam.com/video/eo65jHaoWqE/v-deo.html In this way you can make 8 stop sections for the shadow stations with one m84. Feed the red power wire from the CS3/MS2 into the center and route the red and green output to two separate STOP section. The outputs are wired to the center rail (B) on the track. You can see how to connect to the track and how to insulate the track in this video: ua-cam.com/video/wrSVwgIgR-4/v-deo.html If you get really fancy don't forget that the stop can be triggered automatically when the train reaches a certain point on the track using the same technique for triggering the m84 output as in this video: ua-cam.com/video/yzdb7c2Hx9U/v-deo.html In this way you can even automate the shadow station using the m84. question is there a even more simple way to get ligths in a model build im not super good with electric and my build is slowly getting there or are the marklin ligth system easy to do then i have to see if i can buy them oneday and i realy hope i got more hen enough power for the g shape im making you did not see the hole platform so but i will findt out when i have a full circle made ina g shape so i have a loop where the train goes around and around i will keeep it simple my first build to learn but can you change the power travo to a higher one that is for the marklin c track with ballast ofcourse you have to change the power trak where the joystick and power goes in i think but keep it up i hope to learn more
Hi Hein, I little unsure of what your question is about lights - are you talking about signals, house lights or street lights? If you are talking about signals I believe the easiest is using the START UP light signals as shown in the video: ua-cam.com/video/byOzCs-SClY/v-deo.html You only need to wire power to the M84 - the rest is plug and play. But you only have 3 types of signals: Home block, distant and yard signal. The START UP signals can also be used with a control box - then there is no soldering... As for growing - yes you can upgrade to bigger systems as your needs grow. However, the MS2 and the joystick are limited in power. If you need a lot of power next step is the CS3 - and after that multiple boosters for your CS3. Hope this helps! Enjoy ;-) Bo

If you do not need to control the light I would just buy a power supply and connect directly - faller, viessmann and other manufactors have power supplies matching their light systems. When you have multiple start up signals you will need to use a 72090 distribution strip for red wire Connection on the M84. Correct?

You could slid the signal further away from stop track when the loco gets too close or slightly passes the signal.
