I'm new to Upwork and just received an invite to schedule an interview through an external link. I've read through Upwork's terms and conditions, but when I tried to clarify this question (about clicking on external links to schedule interviews through Skype) in Upwork chat , it says its OK to do. It left me needing more clarity. So, I am sooo glad that I decided to do further research on this question on UA-cam before I clicked on the external link. The most painful thing about upwork is that you cant reach out to a real human when you have these kinds of issues. Freelancers should be more careful.
Well, its very clear @Upwork should respect their freelancers, they can't punish them for someone else's mistake. I hope sanity will prevail and there will be a difference in Upwork and Fiverr's 3rd class Service Support.
I just had that happen to me as well, I provided an external link to book a Calendly call and they flagged me. So now I have provided the Upwork scheduling link on the proposal.

I just got 30 days suspended with the possibility of appeal. Final notice though. Would love to share my story.
