Bear in mind that the power connector is designed as a crimped connector. Soldering, while acceptable is less than ideal. Soldering stiffens the wire. In the case of the bolted down connection, no big deal. If the wire that you are connecting is frequently connected and disconnected that wire can fracture at the solder connection.
Great. I'm about to switch my ARB portable compressor over to these types of plugs for that very reason. Just make sure the wire gauge from the battery to the plug is more than rated for the amperage load.
FYI, if you are using legitimate Anderson connectors, they’re rated for a lot more than you indicated, the SB50 for example is rated for 50A hot plug, or 120A normally.

thanks - great feed-back
Good information, great heart, terrible camera focus. Do you have a method to keep the plug clean (facing forward, driving into the elements)?
They make weather caps for these style plugs.
So what happens when your bumper goes under water, won’t it short your battery?
no. there's this thing called "physics" that says no..........
If it is salt water it will draw the battery down.
What’s with the random music at 4:18???
I had a few tabs open at the time, I was like WFT is the music from.
@@NorthWestOutlaws Lmfaoo ahahahah
@@4v4life72 it wasn't funny. 😂
How do you think this would work for a portable compressor instead of messing with the battery clamps?

Awesome, I hope you make a video detailing which Anderson plugs and gauge wire you use as I’m electrically challenged.
@@BlueRidgeOverlandGear What gauge wire would you recommend?
@blue Ridge Overland Gear what size is that anderson Connector 50A, 175A?

Got it.
Awesome!
