Hello friends! You don't need to make any hardware modification to fix the problem. Just program radio using CHIRP software. Settings > Basic Settings > Volume Level. Max is 7 i've set it to 5 and now is ok. 73 de Luke SQ9IVD
This is utmost useful content! Used this mod to calm down my newly bought Baofeng PMR (sold as MP25, sticker in battery bay says EP25). 22k resistor did the job. Some technical details: the chip we care about in BF-T1 is LN4890 (1W Differential Audio Power Amplifier). EP25 uses different one labeled BL6281 (1.7 Watt Audio Power Amplifier) but the pinout is the same (pins 4 (-IN) and 5 (VO1) need to be connected with the resistor). I'm so, so happy mod worked. Thank you VERY much!
With a 33k resistor the highest volume is about the same as the lowest volume on a stock BF-T1. I started with 22k, it was a little bit too quiet for me, then I tested 4.7k, even quieter, so lower resistance->quieter
Could the same results be achieved if a resistor was placed in series at the speaker? I have done this mod...but have noticed that the battery drains over time while being switched off...i am not sure if the mod causes this...?
A resistor reduces current flow so would not drain power more, and yes putting it on the speaker does the same, probably easier and less likely to damage the circuit.😎👍
They did, less channel, 5w and no screen www.banggood.com/Baofeng-T99-Mini-Ultra-Thin-Radio-Walkie-Talkie-USB-Charging-Flashlight-Civilian-Intercom-p-1596462.html
so look for any lm386 ic datasheets. seems like thats all that chip is.. it will show u same.. u can do a resistor and i htink some schematics ive seen do caps also.. dont remember..
Alternatively, what about using a resistor on the speaker wire? That would seem much easier to solder and less chance of goofing up the board and components.
Recently I brought 2 pcs baofeng T1, but unfortunately 1 of them is broken which is won't be able to be charging the battery. Can you show me how to repair what is wrong? Thanks
If you've just bought it then I'd suggest sending it back. To be honest, they are so cheap to pick up on their own it's not really worth the time repairing them as they are more or less disposable at the price that you can pick them up for.
unfortunately not. Frequency range is 400-470mhz but it can also be programmed to work the 144-146mhz as well, as I have some 2M repeaters programmed into it. So no, it won't really work on the aviation band(s). It's also worth a mention, it's FM only.
Monitor is used to 'open' the squelch control momentarily. This could be for one of two reasons - 1) to set your desired volume and 2) if you're at a bit of a long range away from the person you're trying to hear, you could press 'monitor' to see if you can hear them before messing around with setting the squelch control to open. Hope that helps.
Hi Daniel, The only way to program this radio is via software. You'll need a Baofeng USB lead & the software, ebay is your best bet. But the best software you can get is called Chirp (search 'chirp danplanet' on Google). Its free and easy to work with this Baofeng. Hope that helps. Cheers.
Mike 26CT1074 I have the cable and I have chirp when I go into download from radio what baofeng model do I click on so it will download because I couldn’t find it on there
Mike 26CT1074 I got back on chirp and click download from radio on all the baofeng would not download I ordered the CD but I won’t get it until the end of August
I used Chirp. The last two builds of Chirp were updated to include the Baofeng BF-T1. Just select Boafeng and from the second drop down, select BF-T1. Thats it, no need for extra software.
Also, if you're using the software on a windows machine, you'll need to make sure the driver is installed for the cable. And the correct com port is selected or it won't download at all.

Hi, I used CHIRP software but I couldn't see anything on settings tab. oh at first it says "value not in range" then nothing appears

Easier to just put the resistor on the speaker. A resistor kit is pretty cheap and then you have all values to hand.👍😎

@@techtinkerin A resistor in the rong place can increase the current draw, esspechially in Amlifier circuits.
Hi , I just wondering if the resistor that you puit on T1 radio was one of 22k with 2 watts?
That's grand Mike. any idea to increase power too?
I’m afraid from doing some research that it appears it can only operate up to 1w of power.
Hi dude, I just wondering if the resistor that you puit on T1 radio was one of 22k with 2 watts?
Parabéns pelo Vídeo!! informação e tutorial excelentes e uteis pra quem adquiri um BF-T1. Fiz o mod em meu HT e ficou excelente!
22k resistor 0,25 W?
I'm eventually buying one of these radios. They really should release a modified or updated version.
Agreed, would be nice for a 4/5w version with more memory slots to save more frequencies.
@@OntheMicwithMike I've been thinking a real dual band model.
They did, less channel, 5w and no screen

@@smitthone Did you see the size of that HT? It's not a miniature at all.
Nicely done Michael. 73
Great...
Well made video made. Sound, picture, fades, music links, very nice. Got 2 radios on the way. Tony
Wonderful video. With your idea, I finally settled for 33K, since 22K is a bit weak upon full volume. Thanks! 73
22k is perfect.
Easily done, thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video, I just did both of my radios and have to agree sounds much better. 73
Great news! glad it helped. 73's
Hello, problem no signal radio fm. Solved? Fixed?
Did you disconnect the legs from the circuit board or you just attached the resistor to it.
Just attached the resistor to the legs.

That would change the output impedance and possibly damage the amp
Thanks for the video. 16k is perfect too.

I Grabbed a Cuppa Tea...Sprayed Mines with CorrosionX Waterproofing Spray also...
EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE
Good job Mike.... I will try...
By the way... I already subscribe you... 😉
Thanks!
