Guys.. This is Daves song.. so its hard for someone else to do it justice.. this guy writes his own great music.. and he puts his energy into it.. Dave had a very despairing quality to his song writing.. that was genius.. and tied in well with the name of the band.. made the whole thing rezonate in a dark way.. this new guy has a younger more life like energy.. and he generates good music with the band now. More positive
I’m so grateful that Drowning Pool kept it going. Dave would, most definitely, love when they keep things moving forward after he’s gone from earth. Dave will never be replace and forgotten as a person and a terrific singer. I am thankful they didn’t disband. I am grateful too that Ryan McCombs & Jasen Moreno fill in. They are also great singers too. However, Dave will always be one of my favorite vocalist and a great tenor.
You guys aren't understanding people aren't understanding that the singer Dave is the face of Drowning Pool, he is what made drowning pool the band they were. Linkin Park isn't Linkin Park without Chester just like how three days grace is tdg without Adam. It's not the same and since Dave is gone, it will never be the same. Drowning Pool will always be Dave's band no one else's. His voice is Drowning pool
it's sad to see them trying when the face of the band dies it really destroys a band unless you have a band like Alice in chains that's probably even better now than ever but they are a rare exception
@@BrainDeadNed that's an interesting fact I didn't know that but yea bands sometimes see success after losing the singer doesn't happen very often Alice in chains to me is the most successful band after losing the lead singer they came back better really I believe you could argue
I love Jasen! People are giving him shit but I love his voice with Drowning Pool! Dave was an amazing unstoppable force, no doubt, but Jasen is doing a good job with Drowning Pool. I saw them 2018 at Rock N Rally for the Troops in Tacoma, Washington, and his vocals have drastically improved. Plus that night I got to go onstage and sing Bodies with them. Jasen rocks! And Drowning Pool is amazing!
Why are some of u thinking that the singer suck? Get over it! Drowning pool is still alive with a singer and trying to make the band move on withput dave! I know some of you are upset that dave is gone, im the same. So if you people don't like the new singer then you will have to get over it. R.I.P dave williams
I don't think he sucks, but its way off from the 3 singers before. When they try to cover their old albums live, they will sound like crap. This was a "Studio Session" mix'd and master'd, open air will sound much worse. I'm with Ryan McCombs, back Soil.
Watched some recent live videos, he grew into it. His voice is great now and fits with the band perfectly screams and all even with the old songs. Good stuff.
Drowning Pool fans are drowning. People this new guy is great I don't know what it is your hearing but I think your judgement is being clouded by something. For one thing he actually matched the tone of Dave's voice in this song. Dave was not a low pitched singer. Even when he growled in bodies it was still pretty high, it was also demonstrated in the songs Pity Me and Reminded when he scream, he still sounded high pitched. Look I miss the guy too but he's not coming back no matter how much you trash this guy or any other singer they had and I can't wait to see them live again.
MightySavagE i beg to differ.... 99% of everyone who has a criticism about the album points solely at Jasen as the problem... the complaints about the music itself have to few and far between, because IMO it's their most polished and heaviest album to date.
MightySavagE No, the singer is the problem. I'm not in the "everyone but Dave sucks" camp, I thought Ryan for example was a great fit for DP, and really took their music to new places - they were able to change their sound whilst still writing solid albums and playing great shows with him in the band. Jasen's vocals however are for me are just so damn generic and safe. He doesn't have a unique style that will make him stand out, and as such DP really sound like 1000 other heavy rock bands at this point. A shame really, as CJ, Mike and Steve are incredibly talented musicians.
Ok now that I have had a chance to hear Mr. Jason Moreno singing a Drowning Pool/Dave Williams classic all I have to say is...The Cruizer approves. He was able to bring a similar sound and feel but still manages to make it his own and even manages to top it off with a nice little tribute to the late great Dave "Stage" Williams. I hope to see you guys in South Florida in the near future.
i have to totally disagree...i decided to check this outta curiosity and i cant believe this is for real...this dudes pitch is horrible...i mean just listen to the chorus it sounds like a tire going flat!! no energy, screams are weak, and that mohawk looks fuckin gay...Im sorry but Dave Williams is rollin over in his grave right now
Dave wasn't much of a screamer because Drowning Pool isn't really that kind of a band. As far as his pitch in the chorus...Tear Away is a very Dreary song. It's meant to sound depressing. It's not the kind of song that's meant to pump you up like say "Bodies" and I think that's what he was going for in his pitch. Could it have been better? Yeah but I wouldn't say it's flat out horrible. As for the mohawk...I could really care less. When I go to a concert I don't really care about what the band is wearing (Unless it's shock rock and/or a performance piece) i'm not at they're show for fashion.
tes420 I gotta agree with you. There was this certain roughness in Dave's voice that was essential part of Drowning Pool's sound for me. It just doesn't sound right with the new guy. One good example is the scream just before the solo, maybe the weakest scream I've ever heard.
Not really, Dave's vocals were actually quite polished. Haven't you noticed then when ever he screams it's always more high pitched? Even when he growled in Bodies in still know where near as deep and muddy as say George Fisher from Cannibal Corps. He usually sings with a clean tone just like this new guy. Sure the scream could have used a bit more energy but tone wise he's on par with Dave
TheConcertCruizer The pitch of the voice may be the same but the texture of Dave's voice sounds different to my ear. It's like Kurt Cobain and a boyband singer who are singing the same note at the same pitch but you can clearly tell who has the "rock voice" (bad example but I think you get my point). I'm not sure what would be a good term to describe Dave's voice compared to the new guy, maybe stronger, more mature, more versatile, more aggressive, more "rock", I don't know... Their previous singer Ryan McCombs had most of these qualities and he was pretty good, I really liked his rough sound, but with the new guy it's just not Drowning Pool for me anymore.
I can't believe all the haters for Jasen Moreno, he is a very talented vocalist. He does fit the band...and in my opinion is helping taking this band into what could be the best place they can be. I have seen them live and I am amazed. Sure Dave needs to be shown respect because without him we would not have the entity that is now Drowning Pool..BUT GET THE FUCK OFF OF THEM...they decided to go on not put an end to the band they had 2 other singers try to step into the vocal position and Jasen Moreno is the one who has stuck. The newest album Hellelujah is the best album they have put out...yes it surpasses Sinners.
I bet no one even notice that he says "gawddamn we loved Dave" everyone is to busy bitching naw hes not the same but he just got my respect for that. Rock on freaky bro \o/

Dave did it better. But I gave Ryan (their last singer) Mad Props 'cause he was the only one I thought that could sing their original material from back in the day very well. 1.) Ryan knew DP from back then when he was in SOiL, and hang out with them alot during tours. 2.) He joined DP for Dave. 3.) Ryan has good range, good experience & brought energy to the live shows. I like this singer they sound like DP again not Drowning Soil! The best of the replacements for Dave who can't be replaced but this is the best of them so far!
I prefer both Dave and Ryan over this guy. I must say, Ryan did a really good job, he actually kept the spirit of Drowning Pool alive, eventhough he sounded different.

Thomas Muller i really don't mind jason. i'm always blasting 1 finger and a fist (favourite song with jason as vocalist) but Dave was the only one able to sing this song right (in my opinion)... his voice just suited the song better. still a drowning pool fan though!
Stephen-John Jacobs True. And I was always a Ryan McCombs guy. And I miss Dave and Ryan in DP. Ryan McCombs pretty much was Drowning Pool cause he made more records than Dave and the other singer after Dave passed away.
Well, in the Sinner track, the guitars were double layered, where as here it's how it would actually sound. Also, Drowning Pool seems to not be able to keep a singer around for more than a couple albums so this is the new guy. Say hi and don't hold your breath for more than 6 years.
Next to Dave I miss Jason Gong I thought he had the best sound for drowning pool after Dave of course but Moreno may not be the best but he is giving it 100%
Jason is not that bad of a singer, of course he is not as good as dave, but he is good, At least drowning pool is still around, and they did not break apart after dave died.
This is just weird. It's not bad, by any means, but it just feels wrong. The new dude's vocal's are just too whiny for this. Not hating, just sitting here conflicted.
no power in his voice.... c'mon give this guy a chance, his voice is awesome and he performed preety well on sinner tear away and bodies, i'm even surprised how well he did... of course he's voice is different from dave's but different doesn't mean wrong.... this guy is the best drowning pool singer since dave
And I hate when people bash other people's opinions as much as the next guy does, but I just don't see how you could be happy with this vocalist and performance. And on another note, someone mentioned face wasn't much of a screamer but uh...he was 7000 times better than this guy and actually was great at the screams. Better than any replacement so far, by far
Give it a fucking break damn it, dave passed away from a heart attack. Bless his soul. But Drowning pool must go on, rediscover their sound, And I love this song. I heard their new album and I liked it. Ryan McCombs was a cool vocalist too, I liked some of his stuff. If you want to check out a guy with a really epic voice, look up jeff gutt, instead he is busy wasting his talent on American idol. I am happy Drowning pool are still around and may the jugernaut keep going.
Are you kidding, guys? Hi did very well, actually. Stop crying just because he doesn't sing like Dave. There's no one who can sing like Dave. And, thank goodness, this guy isn't trying to do it. He justs sings this song the way he thinks it should sound, and that's it.
I think he sounds great!!!! I am actually shocked at how well his voice fits in. At Least with this tune! I will need to check them Out when they roll through town! 🤘🏼
Woohoo, all people blaming him. He sings well just stop crying, Layne Staley from Alice in Chains is also dead, but DuVall is good replacement. First vocalist is usually the best, but things change over time.
i heard their last two albums, and my opinion on the new singer is that he is pretty good. has similarities to other bands, but i think the new DP sounds good. Kids really need to let go of the past and move on.
What is past should be left where it belongs but as people remember about others that's what is important and that is probably reason to redo all his songs :) It doesn't sound bad but it is far from original, Jasen Moreno have little to different voice to sing this the way as Dave did it but as a separate song it is good :)
"Goddamn we love Dave" right in the feels

Fucking haters everywhere, Im sure DP guys don't care though, because they are actually musicians and they can hear new singer is great!
Just saw them tonight this guy fucking blows :!
How bou a song with icp would be lit
we miss dave
The new singer is AMAZING live.
I understand you...but you know...we have to move on, i'm with you :) \m/
What is past should be left where it belongs but as people remember about others that's what is important and that is probably reason to redo all his songs :)
It doesn't sound bad but it is far from original, Jasen Moreno have little to different voice to sing this the way as Dave did it but as a separate song it is good :)
jason R is the best vocalist in drowning pool after dave williams thats the truth
It sounds like Jake is trying to sing Cody music
