      @@christchurchanglingcentre5428 Yep Genuinely enjoy all of your vids cos they are very informative and easy to watch. Great stuff. By the way, the mullet spinner rigs i got from you worked great on the one opportunity i got to use them. Unfortunately no mullet. Loads of bass though. Insane. I caught maybe a dozen bass around 1lb to 1.5lb in the hour i had before i went looking for giltheads at another venue. Great fun. Will be trying for the mullet again though this year. Cheers and all the Best . Tony

      As you were showing OTG casting method, could I please enquire what bait holding device you use for keeping hook in place prior to casting and do you think they would be ok on shingle beaches, as a lot of where I live (East Devon) is shingle

    Congratulations on the small eye. 🎣👍🏻
    Is the collective known as “a fever”.
    Do you consider the turn through low to be the ray “time” at Southbourne?

      It was certainly good to see it at such a low low!
      I saw fever too, quite like that.

      @@christchurchanglingcentre5428 I have a question for you.... what do you think about a bar rig with the cascade swivel clipped in to the imp, the small sprung loaded swivel up top replaced by a Gemini Rotter with the hook clipped in there. In other words, the end of the trace from cascade swivel down to hook clips on the bar the other way round. Why would I do this? Because we use hardback crabs here for hounds. The hook goes in through the back, with a circle hook above it and one set of legs are bound to the trace with bait elastic. The other set of legs flap freely below the crab. It's far more aerodynamic facing backwards, hence the reason for wanting to reverse how it's held on the bar. Thoughts? (Or fits of laughter!!)

    • @christchurchanglingcentre5428
      @christchurchanglingcentre5428  2 роки тому +1

      @@iangraham1505 you might have to play around with it a bit, not sure a standard cascade will work with an Imp (maybe an O ring would work instead?), but worth a try for sure. I love tinkering with rigs and seeing what's possible. Please let me know how you get on with it.

      @@christchurchanglingcentre5428 the answer was snell a small hook (with point and barb cut off) to the trace where the cascade swivel would have been. This hook faces back up the trace and clips into the imp. The hook with the crab clips into the Rotter which replaces the top swivel on the bar. Doesn't cast quite as well but gets out far enough 😊 The bar itself looks quite normal apart from the top swivel being replaced with the gemini rotter

  • @castyourlead
    @castyourlead 2 роки тому +2

    Brilliant explanation of the otg cast however may be worth considering putting the lead under the rod rather then at right angles to the tip . That gives you instant compression and you can really slow the cast down with the power coming in late as the rod is already compressed

    • @christchurchanglingcentre5428

    • @01devilboy

      That only works with stiff tip rods or ones you want to brake plz don't cast like with the lead under the tip it's like pendulum casting and hitting the lead on the inside

    nice video, having been a field caster i wouldnt say paul kerry is a big guy, in fact he was tall and skinny last time i saw him and i saw him cast over 260 yrds, i would go as far to say most casters were of slim build but a few of the back casters were bigger, of course that was in the 80s, you seem to have a decent light there, not that i need one but what sort is it please
