My friend and I had a small competition, frozen mackerel against proper fresh mackerel. The frozen mackerel easily won the day. That's one to me.

I do every now and again try to save pre frozen bait and often get an amazing reaction, it's when the wife Cotton's on to I've put stinking rotten best before bait fit for the bin back in the freezer 😂

The majority of my winter fishing for tope, spurs, huss and congers is with herring and always refreeze bait try keep semi frozen while I’m out

Another great video Tom 👍 I always re freeze my squid, mackerel, bluey etc..then I give me a excuse if I blank.. I always say OLD BAIT re frozen! I will buy new and fresh next time I go! 🤣

Hi Tom, great vid and I have half a freezer full of old pink squid and sandeel that's been refrozen loads of times. I will do you a trade for some nice new tackle when in the shop next and it will be even better as it would have been defrosted and refroze again by the time I get to the shop.

Tom! Another awesome video. Love Herring myself! I caught my first ever bull huss (5lb) on a herring head. Later, caught my first ever double figure 10.1lb huss on it (just a small chunk of herring on a dongle). Great stuff! Thanks for the great video.

Another quality video Sir! As a beginner it's always helpful watching your video, but it makes it 100% real due to your massive failures that everyone will always encounter (equipment, clothing, etc ) yet had fun in nature. ✌🏻

Nice set of doggos tom! Yeah I think re-frozen works fine especially for congers. Only caveat is that if there is lots of fresh bait around fish would obviously choose that 🚀

Hi Tom, I used sprats for tipping lug, good for dabs in my opinion and herring wrapped with squid for conger, lovely oil slick. Regards Cliff.

Squid seems to be great in and out of the freezer but most fish baits seem to go a bit crappy apart from Bluey which seem to be excellent on the thaw/refreeze. I'll use half a Bluey and freeze the rest for the next session. Mackerel just goes rubbish. My best before date Spratt Morrisons specials don't fair well either but cheap bait with a pack costing £1.07 for 6

It might not have quite been what you wanted to get across Tom, but you still managed to get your point across. I think people would be surprised at how effective it can be. But you won’t want too many of your customers to know 😂😂🐟🎣

Fun vid that Tom 😎 I'd love you to redo this with fresh Vs refrozen a couple times bluey.. I'm absolutely certain that the rank refrozen bluey outfishes it fresh frozen. I do often wonder about how fresh the bait wants to be especially after a storm. What are the chances the fish find a lovely fresh bit of fish. Good chance they eat way more stuff that is absolutely minging and rotten 🤔😆 Let's face it we leave lug to go manky especially for dabs and flatties

Fishing the East anglian coast, Herring is my no.1 go to for Ray fishing. It's also very good to sort out the larger Whiting, Dabs and Dogs when fishing matches 👍
