My first playthrough of mass effect 2 was my first time playing the game, the case I got from GameStop covered the 2 so I didn’t know, and I got this scene because I didn’t know it was Garrus let alone who that was. I’ve been trying to recreate it on later playthroughs and didn’t know how.
I mean, it's one of thing to follow some idealistic naive loudmouth with all bark and no bite. Shepard on the other hand, even as a paragon, has absolutely no problems with blowing out brains of his enemies and has balls to stand up for what he believes. Krogans, at least smarter ones, see this and respect the hell out of it
That is because Grunt is best son, and understands that there is an order to the universe. Everyone fears Reapers. Reapers fear Shepard. Ergo, Shepard is who he should be looking up to.
Well just because Paragon Shep is a nice person doesn't mean he isn't a dangerous threat, if anything, I think it sets a better example for Grunt, to see how you can bebsoo tough and lethal yet kind and compassionate
One problem with this that I guess slipped past the writers. Grunt cites Shepard by name, but they're supposed to be "under cover" as random freelance nobodies. Shepard is famous across the galaxy. As soon as Garm heard Shepard's name, he would've known something was up and attacked.
At this point everyone thinks he's dead, as far as they're concerned Shepard could be a clan name like Urdnot, an whos to say they don't think all humies look the same like humans do with other races.
Gotta agree with the guy above me; in the story, Shepard has been dead for two entire years. Even if he was a war hero, you can definitely forget a name in two years, especially if its being brought up in a random back street alley with somebody claiming to be him. Garm either doesn't recognize him, forgot about him, assumed it was just a coincidence, thought it was a pretender, or just didn't even care.
@@OGXenos besides, who's to say they believe that's *the* Shepard. Maybe it's just another human with that name. Maybe they think he's impersonating Shepard. There's more reasonable things to believe first than "the guy who died two years ago is alive again"
That is why i love Mass Effect. Even after countless playtroughs and 15 years of history there are still things that manage to suprise me. Mostly rare dialogue.
I Agree Jellyfish , I'm So used to Doing the Paragon route that I Forget There is Different Outcome's from What Choice You decided Throughout the Trioligy, That's Why I'm on My 16th Playthrough, Changing Just 1 Setup and 1 Decision Throughout the Triology Does Change the Storyline from 1 to 3
Gotta say, other than blowing the head off one of his men, Garm is actually pretty reasonable and tame for a Krogan. Instead of outright insulting Shepard when Grunt claims he inspires fear, he just goes "Alright man, whatever, you do you." Same if Shepard claims he's the best. And his attitude towards Grunt following Shepard isn't necessarily "racism" per se, but more that Krogans believe they should stick to themselves since their rigid clan structures and customs heavily discriminate against all outsiders, Krogan or alien.
The under ground fight against the Bloodpack and nearly endless wave is one of the toughest fights in the early game, on insanity. Bringing Grunt and/or Jacob is a good choice because of Incendary Ammo.
I always use Miranda and Mordin since they can deal with armour easily. Squad powers are a lot more effective than squad weapons on insanity. Except for legion and his widow, he is on some serious coke and doesn't miss a single shot.
I saw this video on your Discord and I was planning on recommending Grunt *and* Zaeed, but you already beat me to it Tali's also a good squadmate to bring to the Archangel recruitment whether you use the save editor or the "Early Recruitment" mod Though, I do wish Tali had dialogue during the cutscene where Garrus reveals he's archangel rather than just if you leave her to be Garrus' backup when you go to the basement
Well this changes how I feel like playing with certain people I bring now...keep these up!! I never thought to bring unlikely companions besides the ones I was kinda forced to have at the moment
I've played these games dozens of times, spend hundreds of hours in them and I've never seen this. Cool. But Garrus is always the first one I get. He's the Holey Grail of Mass Effect.
Would be fun if there was another variation if you already completed the Rite. Imagine Garm shooting a vorcha like that, and Grunt just laughs and goes "We killed a Thresher Maw on my Rite. Your demonstration is a child trying to act tough."
lol grunt has funny things to say when you take him places. dude is funny. i love his dialogue in mass effect 3. glad he survived in 3 after you let the rachni queen live
If you look closely at the dead Vorcha's two different parts after the cutscene ends, you can tell that it's TWO dead Vorcha whose bodies are clipping in a convenient way.
i can’t believe we’re still discovering stuff. I’ve only recently got into Mass Effect and boy oh boy. I’m surprise how much small things are in the game

There's more hidden dialogue in this mission if you take Zaeed. He and a batarian named Tarak know each other.
bring them both together, one hell of a tanks team up
Zaeed was in the background of this video. We'll probably see that soon.
