Callum Aldridge In the original Oz books, Glinda was the most powerful being in Oz. Many often confused The Wicked Witch of the West as being the most powerful because she was constantly showing off what she could do. Glinda however was wiser and didn't use her magic unless she absolutely needed to. In the later books Dorothy discovers that Glinda had made a book that told everything that happens in Oz which could only be made by the most powerful being. I have never understood why none of the Oz movie/tv incarnations ever explored how powerful Glinda was.
No wonder Zalenna is so good at using fireballs after all I'm pretty sure in the original wizard of Oz the wicked witch of the west was the first modern character to use one
+Lauren M Yes, much more so. The two fought and Zelena easily overpowered her. Likewise, Zelena could easily counter Regina's strongest spells. The only reason Regina finally managed to beat Zelena is because light magic is her weakness.
Nicholas white Light magic is her kryptonite it, didn't mean that Regina was truly stronger. After her initial defeat, Zelena came back and proved time and time again that in a fair fight she was stronger. Zelena just outsmarted her a lot. Just look at the whole Camelot arc.

Zeleena's pendent allowed her protection against dark magic which is why only light magic could harm her. Post Zeleena defeat, regina hasn't gotten into a battle with Zeleena and Zeleena hasn't proven herself to be stronger than Regina.
***** Technically, if they have obtained the permission to insert the characters of Frozen as unofficial sequel and leave their original names, and to use the names of the characters disney for the others characters of the fairy tales, then they would could calling her Elphaba if they wanted. Considering that even Regina then they should have been called Grimilde, but haven't done so. I imagine that with a different story they will have wanted to give her a different name. After all in "the great and powerful oz" even those of the disney have wanted to change her name in Theodora.
i would have liked to see glinda use more magic ...if she has to protect a whole country, she has to be powerful doesn't she?

Somebody needed to tell the Glinda actress to bring her personality to work with her.
This whole thing about Glinda was weird and frankly unnecessary. The rivalry between Zelena and Dorothy made no sense.
They needed to have Glinda in this story.
