From 2015: The Oceanfront's Belvedere Coffee Shop is a hidden hot spot

The diner eventually closed for good, along with the hotel attached to it in 2019, and was demolished in January 2020, just over 50 years after its construction:

I'm saddened to hear that this wonderful Cafe closed in 2020. So many wonderful memories along with the great food and conversation. Thankfully, Hilton (buyer of the Belvedere hotel) plans to keep and "remodel" the restaurant. Hope that means maintaining the old staff, menu and traditions as much as possible.🤞🏼 One of the last of Virginia Beach's ⛱ Great Family Owned hotels is gone. 😔
