  • A video recording from a security camera, showing the final moments of a boy in a public pool in China's Hunan province before he drowned, has emerged online and been widely circulated on Chinese social media.
The incident has drawn attention to how drowning usually happens quietly and quickly, as the boy went unnoticed by adults near the pool and others swimming there.

I’ll clear it up so you don’t have to go searching on the internet, the boy is dead. The life guard finally noticed after 2 minutes, tried to resuscitate him as his mother screamed for help, but was pronounced dead. It was a sad death and it was both the life guard and the parents faults.

It doesn't show in this video, but there was a moment when a boy passed by his side, like, right next to him, and stood still for a while, looking around and even looked at him, but went off to do something else... Seriously, this is so frustrating

A couple sombodies. The one outside the pool at the edge and the woman who was maybe 6 or 8 feet away from the poor little boy. Idk what it is, but ever since I've become a mom at 21, (37 now) I always try to look out for children if I see that their parents aren't around. I remember being about 11 or 12 years old and noticed my friend's little brother accidentally got in the deep end of the pool and started drowning. I rushed over there to help and he started to pull me down with him. Luckily I knew how to swim and my adrenaline had to have kicked in. I think God also helped too. That's when I learned you need to drag the drowning person from behind so they can't grab at you and un-alive you too. It was scary but we both made it out alive. Thank God 🙏
RIP sweet baby angel. May you forever be in Jesus arms now. Protected for eternity. And I pray his family finds peace and comfort knowing they will one day reunite again in Heaven.

I was trying to teach my little cousin how to swim in a pool. Suddenly she wrapped her legs and arms around me in a state of panic, and I couldn’t move. We were drowning with her and could not even scream. My other cousin who was at about 1.5 m away thought we were joking and she laughed but suddenly decided to reach forth. If she hadn’t done that, we may have been dead. It’s a serious thing.

As a kid in the 1970s, I recall going to several public pools in Chicago. All of them had the 'buddy system' where every xx minutes, the lifeguards would blast their whistles, and all swimmers had to find their 'buddy' and hold hands up high so the lifeguards could do a count. Thinking back, I am guessing they used a click counter to get a total swimmer count. It wasn't a perfect system, but I do not recall hearing about single kids drowning or nearly drowning off to the side like this video shows or other videos or news stories. Public pools would be smart to implement this again, and it couldn't hurt for parents to do a similar system at get togethers at private backyard pools.

@@shaniahardy3046 Moral of the story: While it is true that children may not have the awareness or foresight to check the depth of a pool or ensure they are being properly supervised, it is crucial to recognize that the safety and well-being of children are the ultimate responsibility of parents and guardians. Children, by their very nature, are often blissfully unaware of the potential dangers that a pool can hold. They see a pool as a place of fun and play, not as a hazard that requires caution and vigilance. This makes it imperative for parents to take proactive measures in ensuring their children's safety around water. This includes constantly supervising them, teaching them about water safety, and checking the depth and conditions of the pool before allowing them to enter. By understanding and accepting this responsibility, parents can create a safer environment for their children to enjoy swimming, while also educating them on the importance of water safety as they grow older

    Story time
So hi my name is Brooklyn and I live in a family of 5 and I'm the middle child.
So me and my family just moved into our new house and the second week of us living there we decided to have a little family get together with some family and friends.
So we all having a good time swimming, jumping on the trampoline and playing games. So a little more info all the adults had their backs towards the pool where my and my cousins and lil brother was swimming and there was loud music playing.
So my brother and I were playing pirates on our blow up boat and one of my cousins was the "evil man" so he chased my brother and I. So me and my brother ran to the deep end of the pool (mind u my brother can't swim) and I told my brother not to jump in the boat but he couldn't hear me because of the loud music so I jumped into the boat and then my brother jumped but he didn't jump into the boat. I heard a splash and I turned around and I saw my brother drowning and I was speechless, scared and I just jumped in the water not even thinking twice.
I went under water and I put my brother on my shoulder so that he could breathe and I swallowed so much water like I forgot that I can't breathe under water lol.
Luckily my older cousin was laying in the sun and saw everything that happened so she called my sister and her friends cause my sister was at the shallow side of the pool. So my sister and her friends swam to my brother and I and my sister picked up my brother and her friend picked me up cause I was like about to past out.
And yea I did get in trouble be my parents but the next day just told me how glad they are that I sacrificed my life for my brother's and to be honest I'd do it again
Moral of the story is don't have ur kids or any little kid near the pool unsupervised
Thank you for your time and stay safe❤

We sharing stories now? Alr, my turn:
When I was 7 years old, my grandma took me to my best friend's house ( we will call my best friend Emmy). So I went in Emmy's pool with her and her younger brother(keep in mind, I didn't know how to swim). Then, they got out to go get snowcones (I didn't want one for whatever reason). I was alone in her pool, and I was sitting in a tube. My grandma was watching me play with a Barbie or something. idk.
So then, I accidentally fell backwards off the tube and into the water I went! I instantly sank to the bottom, and I was screaming for help. My throat burned. Because I didn't have goggles on, it was awfully blurry. I knew the first thing I had to do was swim up. But it was really hard since I was panicking. When I was almost at the surface, I stopped. It's like my body gave up. As I thought I was going to drown, my grandma pulled me out of the water. I coughed up all of the water on my own. In the moments I was underwater, I was flipping upside down, which I believe is a sign of drowning. Thankfully, I was ok in the end and went home.
To this day, I still sometimes have nightmares about the incident, considering I am __ years old (srry I don't wanna say my age. I am very thankful for my grandmother for pulling me out of the water because I am sure I wouldn't have been able to do it on my own. I don't think she knows how grateful I am for her! 😊
Thank you for reading thisss! ❤❤❤❤

I found my 2 year old in the water. She snuck out the house and somehow made it pass a block we had for her to get to the side of the pool with a ladder. She was at the bottom of the pool with her eyes wide open her hands barely moving. I jumped in so fast pulled her out and started cpr then my husband showed up and continued it. She regained consciousness after a few min and I’m so lucky to say today, a day later she is back to normal I can’t believe I found her just in time. Thank you God🙏 now I’m paranoid like she can die at any minute for random reasons. I won’t take this second chance with her for granted. I’m sorry for this poor baby in the video I wish someone could’ve seen him.

I almost drowned when I was 4.i was in a little shallow creek, and my dad was helping my sister with something. I hadn’t learned to swim yet, so I sank straight to the bottom. I had never been underwater before, and when I looked up, the sun sparkling off the surface of the water was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I remember being in complete, paralyzing awe of the beauty when I gulped in lungfuls of water and lost consciousness. I woke up coughing up water a little later in a lounge chair-an old lady had fished me out shortly after I passed out. my mother says she must have been my guardian angel. For years afterwards, once I learned to swim and go beneath the water, I would look up and try to see that perfect, shining beauty again, but I have never been able to replicate it since. I wonder if, in my dying moments, something eased my pain and fear by showing me a glimpse of something beautiful to come. The thought of drowning has never scared me since that day.

    TW: talking about the vid
The fact that he died at the end as he sank into the water and stopped moving..
I watched the full video and he was drowning for three whole minutes and one minute into the video he sank to the bottom of the pool. Not moving a muscle. There were many people around him and even someone got into the pool and just swam past him. Someone that was close to him finally noticed and called a lifeguard but they couldn’t save him. Of course that happened. HE WAS DROWNING FOR 3 WHOLE MINUTES.

This happened to me in kindergarten because I was going down a water slide and a lifeguard said no floaties on the slide so I took mine off. Then they said my older sister couldn’t get on with me so said we shouldn’t go on but I went down anyway. And how tf is some dumb lifeguard going to let a 6 year old who obviously can’t swim because they had a floaty go down a water slide into the deep end of a pool?! As soon as I landed in the water I literally started trying to swim but I just couldn’t and the lifeguards didn’t even notice me so my older sister did and she jumped into the water and grabbed me almost immediately. Then she brought me to my mom and I was crying so hard because I thought I was gonna die.

I was just standing there and out of nowhere BOOM… someone pushed me in and I have no clue what was even happening.
