Samantha Beart is absolutely insane, it's even more impressive when you realise she got into the cast on such short notice too, I think she had 6 months to record everything for Karlach, while the rest of the cast had a lot more time, she has one of the most emotional scenes in the entire game imo
I thought i knew every type of pain there is. That line is deep given that shes been in war for 10 years and was betrayed and sold to be put into that war. Man that just rips a part right out of you.
you know just how much karlach loves tav since after the "i had my fun with you" line, she now thinks she was more wrong about you than trusting gortash.
I had romance for shadowheart and in act 2 wanted to switch to karlach. dunno if game bugged or what but it seemed my game couldn't understand why i chose to break up with her and all dialogs afterwards would count as if I never broke up with her or she said her break up line and then ignored it next second. Somehow in the end I was with karlach and shadowheart
All the Dialogue was crazy But Line 3 is what really breaks Karlach. Like that is the kind of shit if you really want to destroy a person's self esteem.
i committed mass murder, became unholy assassin...supported gale in going against mystra, tried to control the brain..but i am not THAT evil to hurt cats or make karlach cry... (well ok, in one playthrough i killed her without even talking to her and carried her head all the way to act 3 to throw it on her parent's grave....BUT i did not break her heart)
Its so brutal, such a dick move I'm glad its something that's possible and these dialogue lines exist but my goodness if I'm gonna romance someone its gonna be them and I'm gonna commit to it
“The people who care about you aren’t playthings” is giving me the same energy as astarion’s “this is all just a game to you”. Despite the fantasy setting, these companions are realistically written enough that it almost physically pains me to hurt their feelings. There’s more careful consideration put into how to earn their trust than most actual dating sims.
Kinda surprised there isn't specific dialogue for breaking up with Karlach for Lae'Zel Specifically when she asks "what went wrong?" and you answer that she was "too much and that you thought you could handle it".
I'm not even entertaining this an an option,not after repairing her heart with infernal iron and such. But I was curious as to what happens. Karlach is my boo,till the end.
I got called intense a lot of times in my life. If this happens to me I would probably break down Also, it's important to remember that you can get the highest disapproval from this game at -100 if you sleep with Karlach and tell her immediately it was a mistake. You can literally kill a companion but this punishes you more lol (you deserve it)

I had to have this conversation even tho I never got together with her in the first place. Got together with shadowheart then the next time BOOM this pops up. Was very confused but I felt like I kicked a puppy
Makes me feel awful, but I really wanted to see new dialogue. She is so much more chill about the breakup if you just proceed to Act 3 without choosing. She will do it for you and it is easier on the heart for sure. Doesn't feel like you're an absolute monster.
@@TjoaJunChoi If you have Karlach and Shadowheart in your party when you go to the Gauntlet of Shar and you're romancing both, you can accept Shadowheart at the end. If you do that with Karlach in the party, then you should have a chat bubble above Karlach's head as soon as you exit the gauntlet. If you talk to her at that point, she will amicably end things and comment on you being in love with Shadowheart. If you ignore that chat with Karlach and wait until you go to camp to end things with her, she isn't happy. If you avoid choosing either of them, for me anyway, Karlach ended things with me after we entered Act 3 on a friendly note. You only get the dialogue from Shadowheart if you either talk to Karlach as soon as you exit the Gauntlet or if you end things with Karlach back at camp after the fact. If you wait until Act 3, there is no dialogue from Shadowheart about your choice.
Maybe a bit cruel but on my second playthrough I said "why not let's romance Karlach" as I loved her on first play but on that one I romanced Shadoheart. So on Act 1 when Karlach starts hitting hard on her coolness I romanced her. But then when Shadoheart starts developping her character I could not like her more than Karlach so I regreted romancing her. Thing is that Karlach starts amazing but then it gets boring. She is the cutest one by far from all character on her romance interactions, but her story is just about the heart engine. Let's assume that this is a way of introducing "cancer" on DnD fantasy game, is the same thing. So her whole story is "I love you and I have cancer, now there are 3 options: ignore the topic, insists that this must have a solution until you die and we cry, or move back to hells" . I find myself not breaking with her just for pity. She has no interesting dialogue options for the whole story besides hating Gortash and having fun. While on the other hand the rest of character comentaries have more lore implications on their thoughts than just "I don't like this/I do like that" All the other characters have things going on until the end of the story almost. Except Halsim who is so dissapointing.

Bruh I romanced Karlach bc I thought everyone was poly but was mainly focusing shadowheart. But then after the "scene" with karlach, shadowheart ended stuff between us... the only save I had before the romance was 3 hours before it and I had done too much 😭
You are lucky it's only 3 hour different. My last save file have like 20 hours different. And I load it and finish the game with that save file just because I don't want to hurt Karlach feelings 🙃
