@lionstanding Sure, I just meant that pre-MTV fame, they (the band) used to play around there all the time. I don't mean they literally grew up as children there.
Easily saw the New Bo's 20 times in the '87-'89 time frame. They played Deep Ellum nearly every weekend - mostly Club Dada, but Clearview, Bar of Soap, Deep Ellum Live, etc. All before Deep Ellum got gentrified and was still scary for many Dallasites. Kenny still sounds great!
I remember seeing her and her band open for the Dead on summer tour at RFK stadium (ticket stub upstairs ) 88 or 89 ? had everyone dancing . this is so cool .
OMG flashback. Did the Dead come back from the dead? I close my eyes and think the original Dead band is still playing today. Unbelievable. Jerry is smiling down from heaven where all the grateful go.

Saw Edie Brickell & New Bohemians 6 times in Florida on their first two tours. Haven't seen them since. Saw Edie with Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers in St' Pete. Saw The Dead because my friends from college were Deadheads and needed a ride to the concerts. I was the one with a car. They were great. Hopefully, Edie & New Bohemians will tour behind Hunter and the Dog Star in Florida.

So glad she got away from that Simon guy, who all but hid her away for a decade of musicless existence under his insecure little thumb. Welcome back Edie. You've been missed.
you should have been there. On Sunday when Weir was closing it was so pathetically bad even dyed in the wool Deadheads couldnt take it and were leaving in droves. Weir's time is past folks. Hate to say it but its is true. Brickell had a great solo set, but Tedeschki Trucks stole this year's Lock-N. Best band playing bar none
Bob! Beef up your tone. I am so sick of not hearing Bob's guitar with every project. Beef up your tone. Get it out there. You say that you work on sound for hours, but it doesn't show. Beef up your tone Bob. I love you though, but beef up your tone.
They're keeping it like that on purpose. Bob's guitar playing isnt what it used to be. Also, he will play half a set with an out of tune guitar. Kind of sad, tbh. When hes on hes on but when hes off hes WAY off. Lol.
She hasn't changed in 30 years! Everything Bobby is singing about Deep Elum is true... and then some! Really great duet!
This is so great! This collab makes this Brickellhead/Deadhead smile oh so wide.

@David Olson B.B. King is up there too. He played & toured constantly starting around 1948. But Bobby has certainly played to much larger crowds.
Looking tired

That guy is Kenny Withrow and he’s a badass. Been a Bohemian fan since the late 80’s, in Deep Ellum
