    I've watched several reviews of the new lineup, and this is by far the most insightful into real world use and functionality. Really excellent.

    After seeing all the reviews that are out yet, I have to say this one is by far the best. Fast paced, packed with information and finally done by somebody who actually uses the bag the way it's intended to be used.
    My only question still remains tho: How weatherproof are the top entrances? Kangaroo one and Roll top? Does it survive 'moderate' rain? Or do you need to reach for rain fly (not included afaik) every time it starts raining?

    • @Terradrift
      @Terradrift  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks so much! Glad you found it useful! The outer kangaroo pocket is totally waterproof, but the roll top is more water resistant, and probably not for long. I would carry the rain cover for anything more than a brief, light drizzle.

    Great video! I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on when to get this over their regular 45L travel bag? I am wanting to hike the camino but also travel frequently, wondering which one would be best!

    Thanks for the review. One of the best reviews / impressions vid out there for this new line. I like that you showed the features when you were out and about instead of just in the studio. You might have low keyed sold me on the 7 sling 🤔

    Best review of this bag by far. I'd go as far as to suggest it outinforms the peak design ad given it focuses more on objective use cases than marketing hype. You've earned a like and subscribe.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the review. I have question about the back panel. How good is the air venting, coz I'm afraid that I would sweat a lot with this backpack during a summer

    • @Terradrift
      @Terradrift  4 місяці тому

      It's tolerably breathable, though you'll probably still get sweaty under there. On the upside, it seems to dry quickly!

  • @Teh-Penguin
    @Teh-Penguin 4 місяці тому +1

    Hows back breathability? My only complaint about PD bags so far is that I get a super hot (and wet) back while wearing them D:

    • @Terradrift
      @Terradrift  4 місяці тому

      It's tolerably breathable. More so than other PD packs. Plus it does dry fast.

    I love my kislux bags. I've had them for a long time and they look like new. I like to spend money wisely. How many people spend all their money on expensive handbags, cars and accessories only to have it blown away? There's nothing special about high priced luxury bags

  • @samuelgayer7328
    @samuelgayer7328 4 місяці тому

    I told myself I wasn't going to get one of these, because a few months ago I bought a Shimoda design explore backpack, which is awesome, somewhat similar, and also expensive...
    But I absolutely love the eclipse color, and the moment I saw how the top opening actually works... Why is Peak Design so good at taking my money?

      Same here. I think my shimoda may be about to get sold. The only thing I really wish this bag had was a side camera access. Works so well on the shimoda with a camera bag

  • @designedtofade
    @designedtofade 4 місяці тому +1

    What I'm looking forward to with the slings on the chest is the fact that these bags do not have side access and require full open to get to a larger camera cube. If I plan on switching back and forth between two lenses, I can put on in there for easy access without having to take the entire bag off. that being said... I am a dude and your point is taken.

    Lots of functionality. Looks great for photographers, but at 2.5lb for 25L, it's a hard pass from me. Just too heavy.

      It's light for a peak design pack, their everyday backpack 20L is almost 4.5lb hahaha

    Colors are terrible, even the black looks bad. White outdoors? Red color ok for the ladies, maybe.
    Already have a medium cube, not going to a smedium.
    Give me a 35l in a more neutral color that fits medium cube please.

    Hmm... questions :
    1) The front dangly cord will be troublesome in wooded areas, wouldn't it? I live in a place where 90% of everywhere that is not a town or city is full of vegetation
    2) Those elastics that are used all over the place, most of them start losing elasticity within 3yrs. Would that be considered "wear & tear"? Would PD honor the warranty for those?
    3) Zipper pulls, those bother me, why so small and... simple? Doesn't feel those fit for the price and branding of PD bags.. hehe
    I think (2) is my main concern, I wish PD had gone for something slightly more traditional for the side-pockets. It seems like they made this bag to try to prove they can design a outdoor backpack with nearly no zips.

    • @Terradrift
      @Terradrift  4 місяці тому +1

      Happy to attempt some answers!
      1. We do think the front dangly cord could be annoying in wooded areas, but it can be tucked into the stash pocket, which helps a bit.
      2. There are really only two elastic cords, which, you're right, don't last forever. But they are totally replaceable and based on what we know about PD after years of experience, we bet they'll send you new ones when they wear out. But def ask them to make sure!
      3. We connected with the team and they actually put a TON of thought and design into the zippers to ensure they're sturdy and will last a long time. As for the pulls, because they're attached to pretty large O-rings, you can always replace them with something beefier if you like!
      As for the pockets, they material is pretty standard for outdoor packs, if way taller than they need to be. Hope that helps!

    • @quagmire321able
      @quagmire321able 4 місяці тому

      @@Terradrift thank you for the reply and answers. BTW, by elastics I mostly mean the large side pockets which look like they depend on elastics to keep them closed or tight to the bag and when that loosens... it'd be a pain to use the side pockets.

      You can make one or almost attaching the cables around. Although too bad it is too long to work as a personal item, I think

    • @Terradrift
      @Terradrift  4 місяці тому

      Lol. You can use the included bungees or additional cord straps to create your own luggage pass through on the back. Won't be quite as sturdy as a built-in one, but it works!
