Sick video! (In reference the the last scene) Don’t ever get discouraged and stop double checking your work for plum, square, and level. I’ve worked with a lot of guys who have many years in the trades and they will stop doing that in some cases like your buddy Jay…and in some cases he’s right…it doesn’t matter that you always get all three. Situation can mandate one over the other. But! You should always aim for perfection like I see you doing. Keep it up. Look for the reason it’s perfect or maybe not perfect. ✌️
great to hear someone talking through layout and explaining it, would be great to hear things like nailing codes for your area, keep up what you are doing great videos
This video popped back up on my feed and I watched it again. It’s the weekend and I’m missing framing haha. Anyways man listen that older guy that keeps on giving you shit about how you do things is just always looking for something to say because you’re way younger and possibly more knowledgeable. I deal with it from a couple guys everyday. Dude you checking for square with that ridge just shows you take pride and want it to be right and you were not being picky when it comes to the ridge cut on the rafters not fitting. I wouldn’t want my name on that because that’s what we’re doing is making a name for ourselves through the work we are doing now so that when it comes time to go on our own we already have a great rep. Bro I love watching your vids when I can’t wait to get back to the job site on Monday. Keep it up man!! I’m in KY I didn’t know you were so close
Nice job guys. I'm the old guy from Maine. In my early years I did a lot of new houses and additions. I was working with old guys who started working in the late 50s and 60s. None of them laid out rafters using math. They always stepped them off using a framing square. A couple of them did use the tables on the square, but always checked with the square. Times have changed, and yes, I do have the construction master app on my phone for stairs.
@@certifiedladderholder oh duh of course I didn’t even think of that lol awesome tho man love it! When’s the next vid coming out man it’s been a while!
great video but i have a question about carpentry i was just wondering how you know what you have to do in the house your building like if you or someone else is gonna do one thing and what to do for everything
On our crew we have a foreman who is basically in charge of every ones daily activities in the job site. But once you work on a crew enough the process really becomes second nature and you know what needs to be done👍
@@certifiedladderholder ah i see i thought it was free grounds you see something that needs to be done you do it type thing but i guess that would lead to someone doing more work then another person but gets payed the same
@@woodzy1553 Well in some cases what you describe ends up happening. Especially if you have a crew that knows what they’re doing. The lead can just point us in the right direction when we need it and still maintain an order of operations. He keeps us on track if that makes sense
@@certifiedladderholder i like your style, I was thinking about doing the same thing with some cheap dewalt bags, you’ve confirmed it’s a good idea. :)
What type of hoses do you use? I've tried rubber, hybrid & polyurethane & none of them are as suple & kink free as yours. Also do you use 1/4" or 1/2" ID hoses?
With you’re irregular hips do you prefer shortening to the tails to make gutter board/ facia board line up all the way around or raise you’re plates on the steeper pitch side?
@@austinjohnson4220 We do both! Sometimes it shows on the print a 12” overhang for the 10/12 side and a 16” overhang for the 8/12 side. Other times it will show the same all around so we’ll pad up the steeper side in order to match heel heights

Loving the videos man! Keep up the good work!
What’s the significance of the tattoos on your right arm? The numbers I mean? They’re pretty cool and just wondering what they mean
Right triangle Pythagorean theorem! Multiples of 3 4 5 that you can use to square a floor/foundation.

I don't know if anyone else would agree but hand cut roofs are a lot more fun than setting trusses. Especially bastard irregular roofs.
