I always thought it’d be cool if Nessie was in London and this is exactly what it would look like! :D (But without the “mindless monster” stuff and more the “just trying to survive and acting out of self defense” kind of thing…)
Don’t know why, but my favorite scene of this guy was always the one where he was getting electrocuted by the high tension wires. Something about his reaction to getting zapped like that just felt so much more natural than a lot of the other scenes, especially after the first shock, where he rears up to push the electrical tower over with his front feet.
True Cuz The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and The Giant Behemoth Have the Same Runtime But Not the Same Classification. The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms is Rated PG and The Giant Behemoth Has No Rating;
I gotta admit, I find Ray harryhausens effects in TBF2F to be better than this one The rhedosaurus acts and looks more realistic than the Behemoth, the model doesn't look as detailed, it's got some very cheap looking close ups of just a puppet with no stop motion, all in all i find TBF2F to be better
@@jackbluehq6653 I mostly agree with you, due to that the effects that Ray Harryhausen just created in that film( the beast from 20,000 fathoms) are very impressive Ngl.
@@YourLocalGummiBearsFan there not bad, especially when compared to other 50s films However there's a clear difference in quality between this and TBF2F. The Rhedosaurus had a more detailed and fluent model and it was composed into live action shots more better Here the Behemoth is composed into live action shots in a more simple way, with far away shots being used. In TBF2F the Rhedosaurus was put into come complex shots, sometimes it was far away and other times it was interacting with the city very realistically The stop motion here looks alot less fluint and the model seems more bland (sometimes they don't even use stop motion, they use this goofy looking puppet for the close up shots)
I watched this movie before and was impressed that the monster looked like an inflated rubber toy: you can see it carries little weight for its bulk and also its limbs warping as it walks. This film was from 1959 but even the dinosaur that fought with King Kong in the 1930s movie looked better.
This WAS at the tail end of Willis O'Brien's career, when his finances (and life in general, sadly) weren't doing so hot, so yeah, not up to his usual standard.
I used to reenact these scenes so much in the bathtub with a toy dinosaur lol it never occured to me how littke screeb time the veast actually had or how repetitive the few scenes are. All the same, love this goofy long neck boi.

No, there is no stop motion there. At least not in part of the scenes. From 0:16 to 0:25, for examaple, there is no stop motion. There isn't _even_ motion. Not regarding the mouth and the eyes. None. Stop motion figures move their mouth, eyes, hands, tails (when they have one), etc. Just like cgi figures. It's is clearly a static model which someone moved by hand while the camera was filming it.
ゴジラと比べると圧倒的に破壊と爆発が足りない ゴジラは日本の実在する著名な建物を次々と壊したよ Compared to Godzilla, there is far less destruction and explosions. Godzilla destroyed a lot of famous buildings in Japan.
Back in the 50s this was as realistic and cutting edge as modern day CGI. Well, the stop motion was, at least. The puppet’s pretty bad in a couple shots.

Even though its 2021 and Godzilla is still a thing today, This just looks Classic and Nostalgic
Probably because it is a classic. But that doesn’t change because of the year or from Godzilla.

The Rhedosaurus but more like a real sauropod

Fun Fact Behemoth roar from Brontosaurus in original King Kong film
Also there’s times it sounds like the Tyrannosaurus from King Kong.
They should have just given it tree fiddy.

He reminds me of the Loch Ness monster when he’s swimming
The monster of the 20 thousand fathom aka the rhedosarus solos this thing

Godzilla of course would win. Easily.
