This is exactly what I was looking for!Short, simple AND it works! I can now use my iphoneX as my webcam when i’m recording or streaming. For me it’s definitely worth the $8 purchase. A new webcam would have easily been 4X that amount and the familiarity and quality of the iphone camera is less frustrating and actually yields pretty decent results!

Cost me $10.99 here in Canada, but after buying it, following your instructions, I suddenly had my iPhone 8 Plus as a webcam - a much better image than I had off of my laptop, and now I have the luxury of using my 27" monitor as my screen instead of the smaller laptop. You saved me having to go out and buy ANOTHER camera. Smart! Thank You!

Couple things I check before subscribing to a channel. 1. Did I get anything from the video(information or entertainment) 2) how was the person in the video and 3) are they a dead channel or still uploading.
Checks off all the boxes! Pleasant energy, straight to the point and informative and still have other tips I look forward going through on the page.
I'm not a native english speaker but at my work I have to speak with natives all the time. Your pronunciation is sooooo good hahaha, you should consider being an English teacher, I would like all the people I talk with have your accent and pronunciation. Also great video!
I had an iPhone 6 laying around and it works perfect as a webcam. Even the built in audio sounds great. I wouldn’t even bother buying a webcam if you have an old iPhone.Thanks for the recommendation!

Hey to all the naysayers out there this worked flawlessly for me, I looked everywhere for a webcam today and couldn’t find any. But a very helpful girl at a business for supplies told me about using your smartphone for a webcam, and this is the first option on my search and it was so easy to follow the awesome directions from pal2tech, couldn’t have done it without him, thank you so much.

I have been experimenting with my 5c iPhone as a webcam because I have a typical cheap camera on my laptop. I was looking for an inexpensive app that would allow me to connect my phone to my PC to use as a webcam and you have solved that problem for me.

Really love how you explain things sir, you make it sounds so simple. Can you please show us how to use DSLR as a webcam? I'm using a Canon 80D.
Standard usb cable, download cam twist and camera live and that's all you need.
Somewhere on UA-cam there's a tutorial, but in camtwist select Syphon, choose camera live

Keep in mind that the videos geared more toward Fujifilm. I also have a Canon 80D and I believe Canon just released some software that will allow their cameras to be considered WebCams. Q. Is there any noticeable latency when using the iPhone or camera as webcam?
Hi Blink, thank you ! I have not noticed a huge latency with this - but much of this will depend on your bitrate as well as what applications you have running in the background on your computer, and of course even the capture software itself.
Every time I think about a technical question this dude pops up on my recommended feed and provides the answer before I even googled it, holy shit it's like 3rd or 4th time now!

You got it!!!! We need to save as much $$$$ as possible. The Fuji/CamLink combo I mentioned yesterday was a lot of money (but best quality) but wanted to also get something out there that's a lot more reasonable!

This, THIS right here is how you make a good video. Well explained and showing more than 1 solution... Just love it!
i tried with Zoom, Skype, WeBex and Google Meet.
Suffice to say, in order to get the option to choose the camera, you must use the web version of the meeting client.
I tried my desktop installed Skype and desktop installed WeBex; no option to choose the source camera appear.
I'm using Macbook 13 inch 2016 by the way.
I have the same issue
Install a webcam software such as cyberlink youcam and the epoccam will popup from that source
I use the desktop version of Zoom and my iPad as the camera with EpocCam.
@@FLFwv I'm doing same thing, but my desktop is a Mac mini. I cannot get EpocCam on my iPad to find the mac mini via USB cable, but the connection works fine using WiFi. Would prefer to use the cable because I assume less latency, etc., but seems to work pretty well with WiFi.
I have macbook air 2020 and the web camera on it is a joke. But i followed your instructions and it works like a charm. I am so happy. Thank you. you saved a lot of money for me. I was thinking of buying a external web cam.

The EpocCam setup works fine, but Zoom does not recognize it as a second camera.

I think you need to change the default camera in the camera settings on whatever browser you use. I changed my default camera in Chrome from webcam to EpocCam Camera so it would use as my webcam.

Works great thanks. I spend some time looking for a better option to my laptop webcam, I tested this option with Zoom and Skype the image quality it´s good even in the free version.
I use this with a tripod for Ubeesize, had a piece to use the smartphone and works great.
Are you using this with an iPhone? Android users don't seem at all happy with the recommended app.
@@MikeG1111_ Yes, I try it only with an IPhone 11 Pro. I have to mentioned, I do not expected a great quality for the free version for the case it's enought for what I want.

About the app: yes, I have heard some problems from android users. I don't know if you are using an iPhone or android. If android, then I recommend you contact the app developer of this app (use the link in the description of my video), and request a refund. Clearly, it is not as well supported as I originally thought. It only supports Wi-Fi. However, it should work flawlessly with iPhone. Are you trying to use it with iPhone or android? And what are the issues that you are having? If it is jerky/stuttering video, then it could be a bitrate problem. However, if it is not recognizing the camera at all or if it is not allowing a connection via USB, then that may be an issue with the application itself.
@@pal2tech I want to use this app on iPhone, but it is still not working. The EpoCam webcam is not recognized by Skype, WebexTeams, Photoboot en Facetime

I'm having an issue connecting to TEAMS from my Mac with this option. Is it the same issue people are having with Zoom? I'm a teacher and I'm trying to use it to make my classes better!
Don't use fast chargers just use the default charger it came with. Hope this works :)
The mirrorless camera as a webcam looked amazing. Not surprising since it is a dedicated camera but the iPhone 11 looks good too.

After testing a signal converter for my high end digital camera and hours of research I came across your tutorial. With the iPhone 11 Pro it works great. It is simple and and costs close to nothing. I noticed that the colors on the iPhone are more saturated then what I saw on the computer screens on Skype, Zoom and QuickTime. The flexibility of a movable camera is great. I can show objects during a call. It’s not a studio set up but perfectly suitable for my intended use. Thanks for your tutorial. You have a new subscriber.

Hi Liew, yes, I believe that should be possible. I know that it works with OBS and if you use that you should be able to connect in to any kind of content publishers such as Facebook and make it work.
theres an OBS app for your phone , no need to download EpocCam if your going to use OBS anyway

That's great... but could you please assure me of zero-lag in a live stream through this process? Is there a minimum RAM requirement for that?
Hi there. There is some latency issues via a live stream for sure. But that all depends on your set up, your computer speed, what software applications you have running, and so forth. I ran it on a 16 gig Mac book Pro and did not notice very much lag. I was using OBS but then I did notice some lag when dropbox started running a process in the background.

That would have been a very good idea to include. I wish that I had done a test on latency, particularly with using Zoom and/or OBS. I wish UA-cam would allow us to edit our videos once they are published - it is so damn infuriating we cannot. A whole new video would have to be created and right now with the production schedule I don't see that happening for a number of weeks unfortunately. From what I can tell you I would say that the latency using cam link seems to be the best.
